Custom Vibrations - Redmi Note 8 Questions & Answers

Hi, I recently purchased a Redmi Note 8, and I would like to know if there is any app (that really works), that allows me to create custom vibrations for my installed apps.
I was using an old one, called Vybe Pro, on my Redmi 4x, but apparently, it doesn't work on Note 8 ...
So, if anyone knows of one that works, could you indicate?
Thanks =)

Sounds cool dude but I've never heard of it and I think it's because most people are more interested in other things like roms, kernels and mods. I hope someone does know such and app though

[Discussion] Which ROM are you guys using and why are you using it?

Hey guys,
Just wanted to know which rom you are using and the reason behind it.
I am using xiaomi.eu 10.2 stable, I am basically using it because of stability. I previously used pixel experience for a while, it was a bit of a hassle to boot it up.Since the dev was inactive and the rom had some bugs I had to use miui which I am not a big fan of.
The goal of this discussion is to find out if anyone is using stock android like roms without any issues.
Thanks

I'm using pixel experience, doesn't have any bugs and easy enough to install.
Only downside is the security patch is not up to date

Which version of the phone do you have? (Global/Chinese)
Can you describe how you installed it?
Is the proximity sensor working for you?

+1. That's the only drawback for me, other than that it's close to perfect.

I have the Chinese device, with the Chinese developer vendor image. Installation was just the usual, flash vendor image, flash rom, format data, flash Magisk.
Stock global, because I think MIUI is cool, and I bought this phone for that.

That's about where I was, other than the notification nightmare which made it close to unusable for me. I just couldn't see the point, my conclusion being it's designed for people who like themes, which aren't my cup of tea.
Yeah notifications are a disaster. I thought MIUI was cool and I have all the pixel XL devices too, so I have choices.

There are a couple apps for which I get notifications but no sound, most notably Google Keep and Settle Up. Other than that, I don't have major issue with notifications since 10.2 update.
Stock Chinese ROM with Nova Launcher Prime for me. I like the lack of Google trash, like Chrome, not being needed to use and access the Play Store. Literally the most bloat-free experience after uninstalling the Chinese bloat that isn't needed.
Dev eu rom. Since the first release. Happy with it. No problem at all.
Cn device with global Rom, I like MIUI battery management last all day with heavy use.
Xiaomi.eu weekly with Nova prime on top.
I really like it and notifications work fine it is just a little bit annoying that you have to set app specific settings for them to work properly though.
Guys what's the notification issue you're talking about?
Im on global miui too but i dont know exactly what it is?

Which messaging app are you using? For me, I could never get notifications to work properly with Google Messages, and with the native Messages app, group messaging didn't work, nor does it have a desktop interface. This may have improved with the more recent releases, but Pixel Experience was so good I have no need to bother trying MIUI again (the other big thing it was missing is the smart unlock functionality).
The only thing I'll regret in stock android is the full screen gesture. I love it in miui

Energy Ring

Does anyone know if there will be note 10 support for energy ring? I like this app for the S10 plus so hoping it works. I tried it on the not 10+ but ring appears to the top right of the screen thinking it's an S10+.

Someone in the themes apps and mods section posted a similar app they make. I imagine if the dev for energy ring would probably update for the note 10, but only way to find out is to ask them specifically.

Ok thanks. Will head over there and browse.
Are those apps still prevent the phone to enter deep sleep?
It's a shame that you have to trade battery for that.

Access with voice match: this feature is currently unavailable for this language

Guys.
I cannot activate Ok Google due to subject message.
I didn't have such issue in my previous devices. And I setup as I did for my Previous phones.
My device language is US English and Google App Language is also US English.
Please help to fix this.
This topic is waiting for an answer for Xiomi cwe all RN8 have this problem and Xiomi still gave us a response. Very sad about this bugs in Xiomi
I face this too
I am curious if this really affects all RN8 devices or just some? My RN8 also has the same problem, but if anyone has a RN8 (ginkgo ) which has the google voice match feature working, it would be great if you can add a comment so we know if there are some devices which are not affected?
Same problem in France on the redmi note 8 global. Very disabling when you are used to using the function while driving.
I did some few tests in my redmi note 8
I went back to an older version of google assistant I think it was 6.6.20 the 'OK google' feature was disabled but I didn't see the message "This feature is currently unavailable for this language" instead I saw " this feature is not compatible with your device" maybe that's the issue.
the other test I think every one can do it go the google assistant setting and stop in the screen when you see the OK google option that is disabled go to the setting and change the language (I changed it from eng UK to eng US) right after changing it go back to the last screen of google assistant config where you saw that OK google feature is disabled you will find it activated or you will be able to enable it but after a while I think 10 sec it goes disabled and cannot be enabled again I realy don't know what happeded in the background like it checks something and then it disable itself.
I recorded it in a video of it this is it :
Ok Google
Maybe the issue is device specific..not ROM specific. I'm using pixelexperience ROM running Android 10, still access to voice match is greyed out
Yes I agree. I've tried the pixel experience and the POSP and the global miui and the stock miui including the Chinese version 11.0.4 and get the same issue on all these. I also suspect it's something in the phone. So if there is anyone out there with RN8 where ok Google works, it would be great if you can post here to say it works (nice if the reporter of this issue can add this request to the first post so everyone can see it?)
Known issue and acknowledged by Xiaomi.
Set to be rectified hopefully in next round of security patching

But is it? It doesn't work with any ROM I have tried and it's not happening on all devices. I have chatted with folks where the feature works just fine. It's not isolated to any firmware, ROM, or country.
hello, works fine on redmi note 8t (stock rom)

That is what is so crazy about this. Some folks have no issues. I have spoken with folks over on Telegram with exact same model phone, firmware, ROM, and kernel. There's are working just fine. The Mi and Google forums are littered with many users experiencing this issue.

Folks are reporting same issue over on Telegram. Someone mentioned that it should be working on AOSP but I cannot confirm.
I confirm the same problem on the redmi note 8, while on the redmi note8T variant it works very well, does it work safe with the aosp rom? I tried various roms among the latest pixel experiences with android 10 but the problem remains and this bug is really bothering me
I can confirm the exact same issue in Canada on my RM8 global. I tried every tutorial on the internet to try and resolve it but no success. After seeing so many others with the issue, it's obvious it is a Xiaomi issue that needs to be addressed and fixed. Disappointing for an otherwise amazing phone.
Hi
I confirm i have same issue on my Redmi Note 8. Ok Google not work
I confirm it's not working on global version N8 , it used to work when the device was out of the box then no more i guess some stock apps update affected it!

Redmi note 8 pro NFC malfunction

Hi, I have a Redmi note 8 pro Global version, and just now I found out my NFC is not working when I'm trying to use NFC to transfer files to another device. I've tried to use NFC before and its working great with this device. I have tried fooling around with the settings like Secure element position but still no help. Anyone expert in this can point me out where is the issue?
Also, I am here to ask if any Redmi note 8 pro owner is experiencing this issue? Cuz I'm thinking maybe it's caused by MIUI update.
Or anyone have any suggestions with apps or tools that can be use to debug NFC feature for my device?
Thanks.

Oh is it? Looks like it's really the software issue? Since you are facing this too... Let's see if any expert here know how to fix it
in android 10, there is no more file transfer over NFC. There is no Android Beam. Google withdrew it on Android 10.
Same problem
I just bought an redmi note 8 pro. I don't have in notification bar nfc option. I don't have it in the settings menu either. So what can we do? I need it for wireless payment.

Apple / iOS emojis for Realme X2

Hey guys, i've had my X2 for like 6 months now - and i've always loved the iOS emojis - not that there's anything wrong with the current android ones - but - i think you get my point ?
so, i thought i'd ask up - if any of y'all have tried this out or anything -
regarding getting the apple emojis onto the X2 without changing the font and stuff
Thank you! ♥
