TMobile 5g new update 1/24 - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Guides, News, & Discussion

So I installed the update last night and I'm noticing the phone running alot smoother.
I thought I might have been placebo so this morning I woke up having forgot I updated and noticed how much faster its running and transitioning between tasks.
What does this update include?

do you get a lot of 5g coverage.?

[Q] Jedi X Rom

So I flashed an older version of Jedi X rom on my SGH-I317. The 6.1.2 version. Ive been using this for weeks now and I love it. I tried playing with the Jedi XP8 version and the XP9 versions, and to be honest, the 6.1.2 version is much faster. Opening and closing home screens, scrolling, I mean, everything is just better on the older version. With the newer versions, I notice a lot of lag. Anyone have any idea why that is?

I'D SAY every phone is different.
I'm not noticing much lag issues but I am noticing worse battery life.
Beyond that the phone seems pretty buttery to me!
Current Devices: At&t Samsung Galaxy Note, Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Asus Google Nexus 7 Super Tablet
Current Roms: Jedi XP 9 (Note 2), AOKP (Galaxy Nexus), Nexus 7 Stock
I assume you turned GPU rendering off in dev settings? I'm not having issues with mine. I've been on Jedi since early December and it keeps getting better, in my opinion. As far as battery life, I play music via bluetooth all day at my store from my phone and can usually get by 35+ hours!
I'll have to agree as well. I usually get about 30 hours worth of usage with Jedi X9 and there's nothing laggy or slow on it. It's definitely smooth.

I liked 6 as well but X9 in my case is far better. Outstanding battery life and I'm a very heavy user I'm on the phone all day. My day starts rolling at 5:30am and doesn't end until after 9pm. Worst day I've had since flashing X9 was 35% left at the end of the day. Give a battery calibrating program a try.

Galaxy Note 5- Quadrant Show Drop In Performance

Got a new Note 5, Quadrant results were around 34,500.
Monday, 9/14/15, received a minor AT&T update to 5.1.1.
It has now killed performance. Quadrant now shows around 5,000. A drop of almost 30K!
Has anyone else experienced this. Dread calling AT&T support.

After the update my phone is running better than before. I don't need a synthetic benchmark to tell me what I'm experiencing in the real world.

Any noticeable changes?
With reports of T-Mobile note 5 users getting OK5(marshmallow) its safe to assume this update cleaned up for marshmallow and our devices are getting the update soon.

Ditto, no noticeable improvements as of yet but quick and smooth as always.
The fact that the note 5 started getting it ( same version that the Nexus comes with ) just means we're getting closer to marshmallow.

Supposedly some battery improvements with it too (hopefully a fix for that stupid cell standby issue)

My brother has an S6 and he said he has seen an improvement in battery. Normally by mid day he'd be at 50% and he's at 65% now
Has anyone had issues sending multimedia thru texts messages?

I assume this should still work with the rooted oh6 kernel?
I feel like no matter what phone I'm always waiting for something. Waiting for marshmallow checking sites everyday. Then once it finally comes to tmobile the 6.0.1 will be out. I'm also waiting for Samsung to flip the switch on the pay app with Chase support. This update played with my emotions this morning.

Saw this having had no idea that there was a new update.... I kinda stopped caring about updates a long time ago. I used to get excited for them but the truth is that most of them.... even main ones like from Kit Kat to Lollipop there is never ever a huge difference in my eyes. With that being said there are updates that are necessary and do come with noticeable changes like when we got 5.1 we saw new video calling and even tho rooted devices arent compatible as of yet Samsung Pay but overall when I got excited for updates I was always disappointed.
Maybe a stupid question but, I got my phone yesterday after switching from Verizon. Is the latest and greatest OTA rootable?
Thanks.
I'm going to say "no" , without jumping thru all kinds of hoops and risking a bricked device.

Cell standby battery drain FIXED
After the Nov 16 update, Cell Standby battery drain is FIXED. I re-enabled VoLTE and cell standby battery drain only showing 1% after full day of use. Awesome update.!!!

Does it also fix the VoLTE audio/call delays?

Should mwd49b be avoided?

I just picked up a SW3, and upgraded it to MEC24H. So far, I am pretty happy with it. I'll get a full day out of the battery, and that was with the just got it fingers playing with it more than I normally would.
I've heard some bad things about mwd49b on our watch, my watch keeps asking me to update, should I just avoid the mwd49b update for now and stick with MEC24H?
Thank you!
You can deny the card when ask for upgrade but I do not know if they ask again and again later ?

too bad
I can't use my SW3 since this update. The watch go from 3.5% by hour to 6-8% by hour, so unusable now
I've updated and have perfect battery life, easily 2 days. Yes, I'm a light user, but still......
I'm absolutely happy with the update. GPS is fine, in short everything works as it should.........
The latest update works fine on my watch. I even dirty flashed it, no hard reset. The only problem I have is that the watch would not fully charge when turned off. It will overheat and stop at about 60% charge.

The update crippled my battery life. I can barely squeeze eight hours with light use...

Well I've found the update to be perfect here and same battery life as before. Strange how different people are having different experiences
Noticeably shorter battery life but the watch works much better. If you don't like to charge it every day or (almost) two - don't update but the update itself fixes many problems that occurred right after the update to 6.0
I've updated and my watch lasts almost for two days, I'm happy with the update but I'm waiting for the further fixes, mainly fixes for the battery.

Since accepting the update on my SW3 GPS has become unusable for any long-term tasks. It might last 20 or 30 minutes returning (relatively) accurate values but then accuracy shoots out to 64m or more and renders it useless for any serious application. I have two watches and they've both started doing the same thing. Personally I'd stick with version 5 for now until they fix it.
Interestingly enough yesterday my battery life restored close to normal after about a week of horrible drain. I did not do anything to the watch...

Question Latest 2AVF1 software update - any complaints?

My S22 has gotten very, very hot during last night update installation, I'd say up to 80C and after it cooled down to ~30C I ran Geekbench 5.4... the score was 776/2986(single/multi). Today the score looks more normal: 1213/3287.
I don't know what to make of it because my S22U on which I installed the same update last night was just slightly warm and I don't think a different cooling system on 22U is so much more efficient, I've never had the S22 so hot during update.
So, my question is: has anyone noticed an unusual phone overheating during this AVF1 update?

Actually after this update, the microstutters that I faced daily are finally gone (most of it). Finally fluid animations when opening / closing apps. Previous builds were laggy as hell
