Hi guys,
your help please! I have a Px3 2GB head unit with the following:
- MCU MTCE_KGL_V2.70_1
- Androd 7.1.2
I was trying to update to the latest Malaysk version 5 and somehow during installation an error message appeared and the unit is now unusable. When turned on only the initial screen (Navigation system) is visible and nothing else, so I can only switch it either off, or on and it stays on that screen. I have tried to install a new software through USB and microSD but nothing seems to work.
Do you know how I can install the software again so that I can use the unit?
Many thanks for your help!!
Good evening all
I’ve tried flashing my px5 8.0 to hal9k. I had read that first you must flash to 3.x to then Android 9. I put the boot card img on an 8gb card and put the unit into recovery. The flash worked and brought up the first screen. Then went to update from sd and now I’m left with the second screen. See pic.
Now i am unable to get back into recovery.
Any help would be great. Thanks
So I am unable to post outside links.
The first screen boots up black with navigation system upgrade card.
The second screen that comes up is black with red green and blue squares at the top with a load of Chinese writing it says at the very top in small writing - px5 v1.1
forgot to mention I have the unit that is unable to get into recovery by pressing the power / reset buttons. I believe it had mod installer app that put the unit into recovery.
Did you ever figure this out? Im having the same problem with my px5 head unit (same screen)
Use OTG method per my thread/signature

Hi,
my TCL 50C715 is curretly dead. It started to make weird noises, would not turn off anymore and after I unplugged it the home-screen in more or less empty and the few remaining icons (among them the settings-icon) don''t work anymore. Unfortunately the only documented way to do a factory reset is using this menu, so currently I am stuck.
Does anone have an idea what the problem could be or how to accesss the recovery on this model?
Many thanks!
First of all you should post in deducated thread.....
TCL Android TV model 55p8m / Android Recovery TCL/BeyondTV/BeyondTV
My TCL Android TV model 55p8m has stuck and can't press any key in remote. The screen gives options to - Try Again - Factory data reset, but do not know how to select one of this option and continue without a keyboard or remote connected to the...
forum.xda-developers.com
There you look for IMG (recovery) file to flash.
Btw,
you should post also your present firmware.
How can a thread dealing with the p8m models be the proper thread for my c715 model? Are you sure?
And I don''t know the current firmware and cannot look it up as my tv has become unresponsive...
If the clear the system cache is on the boot menu you can try that first along with a hard reboot (simulates pulling the battery).
Otherwise the easiest quick fix is factory reset... if it works... it usually does unless the root cause is hardware.
It maybe a virus or rootkit...
In pre Pie OS versions there are rootkits that can survive a factory reset, a reflash is needed to kill them if the factory reset fails to.
Problems with a TCL P6046..
Suddenly the brightness went to "almost black". You can see the image but it is very dark.
The strange thing is that when restarting the TV, the brightness of the TCL brand and the loading of android are very bright.
Tried:
Empty the cache and restart
Disconnect the cable, press the button for 30 "and reconnect
Install the 820 OTA version from scratch, so "implicitly" reset to factory values
Unfortunately, apart from a phenomenal new boot speed (!), the new 820 fw hasn't changed that
The strange thing is that in the first few seconds of boot, until the complete loading of android, the brightness is normal.
But the system saw all settings rewritten with the ota 820 update ..
Kindly ASK
What can it depend on?
Any Ideas on what else to try?
