I have 2 redmi 7 (onclite): mine 3gb+64 gb and my wife's a chinese version 4 gb+64 gb.
The problem is that both came with global stable rom, mine had locked bootloader and my wife's had unlocked bootloader. In particular my wife's redmi 7 hasn't got fingerprint scanner option, while on mine I have it and I can set it with no problem. I've already reflashed fastboot rom (miui 11) but i can't find fingerprint optione in any way.
Question is: has my wife redmi7 fingerprint hardware problem or is there any way to activate again fingerprint?
Please check whether your wife's device is encrypted or not. If there is no encryption fingerprint won't work otherwise maybe hardware failure.
It can be encryption problem
DELETED
Thank you for your answers!!! I just wanted to know how can I get information about encryption

I have this error keep happening to me no matter what I can't unlock the bootloader. I tested it when it on marshmallow too it also didn't work. I'm now on android nougat WW SKU Build with no change. The bootloader has been updated for nougat too. This is a real bummer.
Are you 100% certain you've downloaded the correct utility? The ZS570KL with its 256GB of storage is considered the pro version. Anything with less than 256GB of storage requires the non pro version of the unlock utility.
Was this phone purchased through a cellular carrier by chance?
Have you tried removing the SIM card to see if that makes any difference? Its not a requirement but it doesn't hurt to try it.
How are you determining the lock status of your bootloader?
The reason I ask is that it would awesome to be unlocked and simply not know it.
Have you tried wiping the phone before running Asus's utility? I know technically you shouldn't have to since the utility also wipes the phone but it is worth a shot.
I am sorry this probably isn't much help but maybe we can find a solution.
Good day. I have a big request for more experienced forum users. What i should do do step by step with the phone if it comes from a global fake Rom to change it to the original Chinese one? I read on the forum that if i do it wrong i can block the bootloader for good and i cant upload later the global version from xiaomi. For this I am asking for help. What you have to do to upload Chinese Rom correctly without the problem with the phone later.
Edit In one of the threads there was information about blocking the bootloader if something goes wrong because the Chinese use the program to remove the lock and later there are problems. I want to return from fake Rom to the original so that you can later upload a real global. I am asking for directions as for a novice.
can help someone?
Better if you contact the shop/seller and ask for clarification. Whichever ROM you flash, you would modify the phone and liose the warranty, despite the fact you succeded or not.
Me, I personally prefered to return the phone to seller and have him reflashing the phone.

understand, but I just want to install the original software. In this case, it is a Chinese version. When the global version from xiaomi comes out I would like to install this version without any problem. I once to install roms in lg, huawei, but I do not want to spoil anything and I am asking for help in how to properly upload the original rom for the phone.
from fake to china rom
I received today my mi max 3 4/64 gb with fake rom. Perhaps my experiences can help you a littlle bit.
I first booted the phone and binded it to my mi account. (with sim inside) My phone was unlocked which is a must.
Then I followed the steps from omer919 in the thread Global rom will be released very soon.
I flashed the chinese rom, wiped/format data and dalvik.
I booted back to system.
After the phone was rebooted I booted back in fastboot without changing anything to the new rom (it is in chinese so that would be a bit difficult )
Then I flashed the latest eu rom via twrp - via the command prompt with fastboot instruction "fastboot boot twrp.img". Attention the latest eu rom doesn't allow rollback so if you want to put the global rom it must be on miui 10.
After flashing you reboot the phone.
You will not get in the phone, and this has noting to do with the flashing of the vendor wathever some person on xda will say. The reason is that you can not activate your sim - so no connection and no activation- it will be overruled by the xiaomi protection saying that this phone is binded to a mi account. (in fact your own account) You cannot push the wifi button on this screen to put in your wifi password.
How can you get through this :
1. first power down your phone.
2. Remove your sim.
3. reboot your phone
4. you will get the xiaomi protection but now you can push the wifi button and fill in the wifi settings.
5. push the back arrow and fill in your mi account password. push the activate button - It will activate the phone in your mi account.
Also no need to relock your phone as it is binded to you account.
So I bought a t-mobile 7t and sim unlocked it, boot loader unlocked and loaded the stock firmware, upgraded to latest and relocked bootloader.
everything seems to basically work fine for me, including my dual sims (though I can't seem to get t-mobile wifi calling to work overseas where I am, I can get it to show, but it doesn't seem to connect via wifi). But that's not my Q, I can live without the wifi calling (that's what google voice is for).
However, I want call recording, and I followed the instructions here
How to Record Calls on OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro, 7, 7 Pro
This way, you would be able to record calls on OnePlus 6, 6T, 7, 7 Pro, 7T, 7T Pro, 8, 8 Pro and Nord phone this method will also works other OnePlus phones
oneplustips.com
what I noticed is, that when I run the adb shell command, I don't have to reboot, and in the phone settings the record option is there, but as soon as I reboot (per the instructions), I lose the setting and call recording.
is there anyway around this, is this just me or is this a known thing?

For that you'll need magisk and download the call recording enabler module. Been using that module for my 7T OOS 10. Works wonders. Edit: Survives a reboot as well
but that would require unlocking my bootloader, right? :/ I'd prefer not to do that.
so, turns out, it was super easy, barely an inconvenience to fix this. without rooting or anything. tasker can set the variable on each reboot. no need to root the device, no need to unlock/replace bootloader. just install tasker, give it permissions to set global settings and it can restore the setting on each reboot.
Good morning!
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 device, and it presented some issues with the cameras, Wi-Fi and media, resulted from the motherboard. I bought a new motherboard from Aliexpress, changed the old one for the new one and it worked for like 5 seconds, and right after the two imeis number turned to 0. I can’t unlock the bootloader for not having the phone imei and the phone has the Chinese rom, MIUI 12. Any solutions to recover the imei or unlock the bootloader?
Sorry for bad inglish.
Some quick tips what I did to my new OP9 Pro Tmob LE2127 on CE22 firmware here in Canada! Picked the phone up a few days ago and loved it right away but hated all the Tmob crap they installed. Tried converting with the Fastboot method and managed to brick the phone as I'm running Linux and its a little more tricky if your not a Linux pro! It unbricked very easily with the MSM back to Tmob tool and an old laptop on Windoz 10. Make sure setup the HUSB Qualcomm drivers properly! Than some reading and realized you can only go from TMob to EU rom with the MSM tool. Tried that worked perfectly the first time did all the subsequent OTA updates all the way to the current Oxygen OS 13 & Android 13 and its working perfectly. At first there were some weird SIM modem dropping and data issues but as I upgraded to newer versions of Oxygen it cleared it self up. Still says two sims in the mobile network area but identifies them correctly also the phone identifies as a LE2123 now! I also didnt unlock my bootloader but I did get an unlock.bin just incase that process took only overnight, I submitted and recieved the Unlock Bin the next morning it shows up in your One Plus account and you download it! Hope that helps some one out and issues I will report back! Phone is very smooth now!

Are you gonna try any custom rom? If so, can you tell me your experiences whenever you decide to install custom roms?

I'm on the fence about that right now the phone is running really smooth and fast I will give it a few days see how it goes!
I received (another and hopefully final) my op9pro the other day. Powered it up and noticed the OEM unlock was in blue and it still is after updating to the latest version. T-Mobile is giving me a hard time on getting my SIM unlocked. Probably because I bought it from Amazon. Want to attempt but I have seemed to have forgotten if root is still achievable with Sim being locked. Sorry been away for a year, you know iphone things.(throws up in mouth). Good phones though for battery life
If anyone has a locked sim, converted and rooted, please do tell if it is possible I don't need the steps, just confirmation that it works. Thanks

It's 100% sure, possible. I immediately converted my 9pro to Eu on day 1, while sim locked. I bypassed the toggle with a tool in the forum but there's also an adb command available for making the oem unlock toggle work.
This includes root and unlocked bootloader while sim locked.
The thing to be aware of is, the T-Mobile variants have a different bootloader unlock process vs non carrier variants. You submit an unlock token to OnePlus and get an unlock bin back, then flash that bin. Lately, people have been reporting the site is broken and they're using support email/chat to submit and get the token. However, this different process can also be bypassed:
Right after you do the Tmo->Eu msm conversion, it's advised to unlock the bootloader on Android 11. Android 11 on Eu will not need the unlock.bin to unlock the bootloader. But it is needed for later versions so if you want bootloader unlocked, do it right after conversion while still on A11.
The "problem" is, once you do this, if you want to sim unlock the phone later, you have to go back to stock Tmo firmware with the stock Tmo MSM tool, as the built in unlocker is not in Eu or other variants. Which means you will have to wipe data later whenever you want to get it unlocked.
it took me 6 Agents at Tmo chat support to finally get the unlock handled properly. One agent asked me to submit my proof of purchase and I did but they couldn't figure out how to unlock it because of the imei starting with 99 and they only know how to unlock imei starting with 35. Thankfully someone else did know how and they got it sorted after a week or so. Some agents told me it needs to be on the network for 40 days, some said they can't do it because I didn't buy it from T-Mobile, some said I need to wait longer. None were true. I told them I'm a developer and needed to unlock my bootloader to test things for my job.
Here's a link to the tool I used for making the oem unlock toggle work despite sim lock: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ader-unlock-enabler-engineer-decrypt.4380419/
Hi, maybe stupid question but it's possible to due this remotely ( with team wiever or something similar)

I'm sure its possible. If someone wants to get you up and running. But honestly, it's better to learn it yourself in case something happens and you end up without a phone cause you didn't want to learn. It seems rough but once you get it you're golden bro. Tough it out and smash them wires in the phone/computer, and open a terminal and tap away at the keyboard. If all else fails, slap the phone and)or computer around and show em who's boss
I personally had to go to AA as BA/EU was giving me a nightmare of a time with data
Just an update on my 2127 Tmob to 2123 EU conversion! Its working flawless guys I didnt bother unlocking the bootloader when I did the conversion even though I do have the unlock bin. It only took overnight to get the unlock bin this was a few weeks ago! The phone now is working really good everything is flawless still on a locked boot loader which is fine its working smooth and taking updates another OTA update came today! Running A13 Oos 13 LE2123_11_F74.
Which version of MSM tool is best for this conversion?

Yes everything is working good!
Question:
1.Enabling dual sim will add another IMEI to the device, so the original IMEI is duplicated or you get a new IMEI for it? In my country duplicate IMEI's aren't allowed hence asking
2. I remember there was a dual sim patch for OP8T and there were rumors of losing dual sim capability after update is that the same here?
