Thats your only solution to banding.
Yes there is a solution just rise up the brightness and the vertical bending will dissapear but if you did you cant apply the auto brightness mode and thats the problem
Bigxie's rom let's you set the autobrightness level: it's the only one I've tried so I can't comment on whether there's other roms that do the same thing.
You can use an auto brightness app and set custom brightness levels, like mine.
Ive tried that app, free version on ics 4.0.3 and had several reboots\crashes.
One is when using pattern to unlock:
- Screen is set to turn off after 30 sec, when the screen dims before shutting off and i swipe the pattern it crashes reboots.
Also in normal operation when the screen dims at shutoff point and i do something to wake it it can crash\reboot.
I have had mainly two brightness settings, 40.0 and 130 lux (0.5mA)
40.0 was set at 21% and 130 at 33%.
When commuting on bus\train the light conditions change frequently and also that can cause the reboot\crash.
Hi Every one
I have upgraded my P6 to Kitkat B512 and have noticed that although auto brightness choice is available in setting and notification panel but it doesnt work properly, meaning that ones it is set to "auto" the brightness of screen doesnt change automatically in dark and bright environments
Have any one faced this problem? is there any fix for that?
I have this strange issue with the light sensor, the reported lux oscillate to often, it can go from 40lux to 1lux for a split second then jump back to 40lux.
Sometime the sensor remain locked to 0 or 1lux, leading the screen to dim way to much with auto brightness on to a point it become unreadable, so I have to point the light sensor toward the window to unlock the reading, very annoying.
Best solution I found until now is disable auto-brightness, but it's also annoying to have to consistently adjust it manually.
Have the same issue with CM11 and CM12, didn't tested stock firmware though.
Am I the only one facing this issue ?
Dear all,
Does anyone have a problem with the adaptive screen brightness??
Mine is not stable
When i unlock the phone it bright up for the face recognition to recognize my face and then stay very bright
And i should click on the brightness bar at the same point to make it dim
Its not happening every time i unlock my phone but maybe 80% of my unlocks
I had the same issue, got fixed with the may update.
I didnt recieve the may update until now
Iam in KSA
A couple weeks ago, I noticed that my screen would flicker when it was below about 50% brightness and that it would stop flickering when above 50%. I now have a problem where the screen is flickering and I cannot adjust the brightness which seems to be stuck at 0%. I can just barely see the brightness slider and when i raise it, the brightness remains the same. I don't use adaptive brightness btw and I am also on Android 9 still. Has this happened to anyone else/ does anyone have any solutions?

Never updated to android 10 myself and not experienced that issue. I just leave my brightness settings on auto. Hope your issue is some weird software bug rather than hardware related.
