My phone will be sitting on the table and I will hear a buzz and when I check it, it will have switched modes without touching the side slider. I have to slide the slider to another mode to get it to another so I can switch it back. Has anyone heard of this happening on the 7T?

I have the Sprint version of the Touch Pro 2. My preferred ringer setting is "vibrate and ring". However, if I temporarily switch to either vibrate or silent mode, when I turn the volume back on, it goes back to the "ring only" setting. Is there any way to have it return to my preferred setting?
Same problem here, and it is driving me nuts! I go from quiet to noisy environments and it is causing me to miss calls. Someone please help!!!
I spoke with HTC tech support today. They were able to reproduce the issue on a phone they had on hand and acknowledged the problem and created a case file. They said it will be researched and fixed in a future software update.
how do i turn off vibrate for new emails/sms when in vibrate mode?
how do i turn off vibrate for new emails/sms when in vibrate mode? it's a bit annoying
when i'm in silent mode, i want it to vibrate for some features i.e. combo.
is there any way to get rid of the blinking light for notifications?
I keep my stock phone, USA-TMO, on mute and vibrate only. I’ve noticed recently that the phone ringer will go off on its own. There is no incoming call, no alarm that is set. I get to the screen and there are no indications of what is making it ring. None of the controls seem to mute the sound either. I have to reboot the phone to get it to shut-up.
It’s happened a few times in the last several weeks. Once I left the phone sitting on my desk and came back and it was in this state. Now this is where it gets strange. I’ve had it happen 3 times when I’m standing in front of one of those hands free urinals. The ones with the sensor, IR?, that detects a warm body standing there. But I’ve also been standing there and it didn’t go off several times. I’ve got Wi-Fi enabled, GPS is off, Mute-enabled, and Bluetooth-enabled.
I’m going to start turning off interfaces, Bluetooth first, to see if it’s one of those interacting with the “warm body detector”.
Any ideas on what’s going on?
It has nothing to do with the IR sensor on the urinal. LOL
The phone is paired with a pebble smart watch via Bluetooth. I'm figuring out that it is when I leave pebble sitting on my desk and I walk away with the phone. Somehow the un-pairing of the pebble with the phone causes the ringer to start up. It takes about the time it took me to walk to the restroom.
When the ringer goes off, I went about stopping every running application I could, but no help there. It keeps ringing until I reboot.
Solved!
My pebble has a Pebble Reminder app that has a "Phone alarm on disconnected" setting.
DOH!
Funny that it takes a reboot to disable the alarm though. That's kinda goofy.
On another thought: We always imagine some exotic source to a problem. Nuclear radiation, cosmic rays, IR ports on the urinals. But it usually comes down to some simple source. Occam's Razor?
Hello all!
I'm coming here from an exploding Note 7, returned that and have a temporary HTC Desire 530 as a placeholder (it sucks hard). Trying to decide if I want this phone or not. I have one question I haven't seen discussed.
Can you put the phone in silent mode without turning on Do Not Disturb mode? DND mode makes both my Android Wear and my TizenOS smartwatches worthless.
In the phone I have right now when you put the phone in silent it turns on Do Not Disturb mode, meaning my watches get NO notifications. I loved on my last few phones I could have a silent phone, but still get notifications from both the notification light and my watch. In my current phone if you turn off DND mode then it goes into vibrate mode which vibrates extremely loud on my desk at work. My only option has been to get a silent mp3 file for my ringtone and notification sounds. PITA switching sounds when I get home from work every day.
If you can put the phone in silent mode (no vibrate for notifications/ringing, no sound for notifications/ringing) but still get vibration notifications on smart watches and the notification light then I'm sold!
Can anyone shine some light on this for me?
This HTC Desire 530 is sucking my will to live. I need subtle vibration notifications on my wrist throughout the work day on projects/emails/etc with a silent (and not vibrating) phone.
This isn't a limitation of the phone or the phone specific software, this is simply how android marshmallow and up works

Not on the LG G4, LG G5 or Galaxy Note 7. On both those devices I can drop the phones volume down to silent mode and it still:
A) Turns on the notification light
B) Vibrates my Android Wear watch
I have no idea what genius thought they should create a mode that nixes one of the main smart watch selling points baked right into the OS. =(
I want notifications on my wrist without my phone vibrating - why is that such a crazy thing? lol
If anything I should be able to disable Do Not Disturb mode and restore regular normal functional silence mode through a custom ROM or root or something... maybe?
Also you didn't say if this does this for sure. If you set your OP3 into silent mode, can you still allow ALL notifications in this mode? I know the OP3 is supposed to be customizable but I'm not sure to what extent.
Hey there. I have some trouble with the alert slider, not working how I need it to be working. Here are my settings and how I use it:
* Silent Mode: Does not vibrate and turns off media sound
* DND: Accepts only calls, which were made in between 3 minutes
* Normal: Just normal Rings and vibrates
So, also I have installed the Tiles app to add an extra Ringing Mode Tile to enable an vibrate only mode in the normal mode. My problem or assumption was now,
that I want the silent mode behave like the normal mode when I get called. To make this clear, when I get an call in the normal mode the screen turns on and displays
the phone app. But this ist not how it works in the Silent Mode. Instead the screen stays of and shows the notification via the "Always On Display". This notification
is not very visible, causing some missed calls...
I thought the Silent Mode only disables all sound but behaves otherwise like the normal mode. Is there something I can do to make it behave like I described or an alternate way?
Silent mode is when the switch is all the way to the top. In that mode, the screen does turn on.
Just flip the switch up to silent and then when that little settings pop-up comes, click it and go into alert settings and you can then turn vibration on and off for the silent mode section.
My screen does not turn on. It just stays black and an small notification is shown. I'll try it again...
I am on latest OOS nougat.
This one really grinds my gears.
I use wired headphones a lot. and whenever I do and the phone is in my pants pocket, the thigh touching through the fabric of pocket turns on the screen many times. So I disable double tap to wake.
Every time I receive a call and phone is in my jeans front pocket, random buttons would be pressed. call would go on hold, or mute itself, or turn on speakerphone, or open keypad, turn on record etc.. and it is extremely frustrating. even more so when a business client calls me and I accidentally put him on hold because my phone is so stupid it does not understand not to turn on the screen touch. The proximity sensor works fine because when talking on call it will turn off the screen. just not the touch. My torch gets activated pretty often when pulling the phone out of pocket. this is so stupid infuriating.
The rest of the phone is amazing. I love the hardware. its pretty fast, runs games fine. camera is also very good. but the bloatware and the bugs are getting on my nerves.
This bug is from the day I got the phone.
Realme UI 3 update did not affect the bug but actually made it worse as the torch triggering issue has gotten worse.
I have not encountered any major bugs in the new update apart from a bluetooth volume fluctuation bug.
Am I alone having this issue?
PS: I forgot to mention that several times the quicksettings toggles are also triggered Like Data/Wifi turning off, VPN getting activated, Airplane mode turning on etc.
