I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975F) with Android 10.
I am able to use the Samsung Dex on PC just fine but when i connect it to the TV through HDMI adapter, it only mirrors the screen and i get no option to turn on Samsung Dex. I have checked the HDMI connection setting too and it's set to start in Dex mode upon connection but still nothing happens.
I tried the same even on Android 9 before getting the update to Androi 10 but the issue faced was the same.
Any idea what to do? Or is there is any thing i am missing or doing wrong?
By the way i am using a USB C adapter which has 2 USB 3 ports, One USB C port and an HDMI port.
Any help would be appreciated.
I didnt know that dex also worked on tv...
it could be a fault in the adapter, it may lack the security or something that is required to pass through to HDMI. as with USB to PC it just transfers the info over a standard USB connection. but a lot of modern devices require certain security and HDMI revisions to actually work with a TV, partly to stop people putting the likes of netflix straight through a capture rig.
if you can get hold of a different make/brand of hub I would try that as it may just be that one.
Just to update that I used Samsung Dex Cable and it worked just fine with the TV. As soon as I connected through it, the option popped on phone for Dex. So yes, my Hdmi to Usbc adapter was at fault and there is always a plus side to use official accessories .

Hey! So i managed my S2 to work with an OTG adapter. Now it recognizes Flash drives, USB mouse and keyboard as well. My problem is though, that i'd want to use both the mouse and the keyboard simultaneously, and later on my tablet as well.
I've got a USB hub which was pretty cheap i guess,
ht tp://itmedia.sk/item-images/other-usb_omega_hub4portSTARpowercapable/it6818_2.jpeg?nc=032
When i connect it to the OTG adapter it lights up, and if there's a flash drive attached to it when i plug it in, the phone recognizes the flashdrive without problem. As soon as i plug in a second flash drive, the light goes off from the HUB and both of the sticks get unrecognized. Also, the mouse nor the keyboard works through the HUB somehow..
I need to buy a specific hub with OTG support or a power hub perhaps? Could anyone help in this? I looked over google and stuff but people seemed to say different stuff at almost every site.. Thanks!!
My Galaxy S has stock 4.0.3 rom with the Syjah S2 4.1.4 Kernel

Oh well that's quite interesting. Then you're saying this piece of video could be fake perhaps?
Since i can post links yet, search for this on youtube: USB HUB Support On GALAXY S2
Check the very first video.
I'm convinced that the every phone can handle only one device connected at the same time.

Well, it surely doesn't seem that way, that's why i was asking, since it's possible.
Weird.... i got sgs2 and 4-port usb hub and when i connect 2 pendrives to hub and hub to phone everything works good (i see UsbDriveA and UsbDriveB). If your hub have dc input you can try connecting power supply to this hub. Maybe this hub isn't compatibile with your phone.
Hi guys,
My galaxy nexus screen has been cracked and it does not respond in 75% of the screen.
I bought a MHL to HDMI convertor on amazon and luckily got the phone UI to show up on my TV
Now since the touchscreen won't work , I need to connect a keyboard or mouse via USB OTG and use it for navigation.
Problem is the Galaxy Nexus has only a single microUSB/MHL port combined into one.
I have no idea how to split the output from the phone to connect to a USB OTG cable and MHL to HDMI adapter simultaneously !
Any help will be appreciated,
The phone is not rooted AFAIK , but may be I'm not sure. It was running Android 4.1 JellyBean when I dropped it on the floor
The phone does show up on my Windows PC and I have copied the photos off it. But I still want to copy contacts and SMS messages.
You tried just using something like Android Screencast from the PC (USB debugging is needed)
Also, some MHL adapters have a USB port in them, for power. Have you tried getting a crude micro USB splitter? Like this one? http://www.replacebase.co.uk/micro-usb-female-to-2-x-micro-usb-male-splitter-2392-p.asp#.URk59JGYOBs
Not guaranteed that would work though. Also, a quick google of what you want brings up some others with the same issue, have you tried to see if any of them have succeeded?

Good news
I had a spare galaxy nexus in the office and I gently took the screws of both the devices , and just swapped the displays so that I could quickly turn on usb debugging , backup essential stuff and also turn on bluetooth.
Thanks to some assembly videos on youtube ! will share some pics soon
Hi All
I have just been buying loads of accessories such as HDMI connectors and OTG cables for my Note 2. But have had no success with any of them. I got the HDMI cadapter first. But get no picture at all. This could be down to several things. I only have a PC monitor to try this out on and it doesnt have HDMI input. I do have a HDMI to DVI cable that I know works but still no joy connecting my Note 2 that way.
Next the OTG adapter arrived and I tried to connect a USB stick but with no joy. I have ES file explorer as well as Solid Explorer. I understand the way the mount points work ie navigating to /mnt and trying all the USB links but none access my USB stick. The stick is formatted fat32. I also tried Stickmount And USB mass Storage watcher. I tried several USB sticks. I even tried to connect a mouse. No joy with any of it.
Normal connectivity using the charge/data cable is fine.
Am I missing something? Is there a setting I need to enable/disable? All the videos I've watched show this as being really straight forward.
Also I have a Touchwiz based Rom, CleanRom and the pjhne is the N7105
I have 2 Samsung Galaxy S3 phones in the family and an official Samsung MHL HDMI TV adapter. When I plug my own Phone into the adapter and select the relevant HDMI output from the TV I can see the display from the phone without any issues and this has never been a problem for me. However, when I plug in our other phone it detects that the HDMI adapter is connected on the phone's display but no picture is displayed on the TV, it remains blank. I have checked all settings I can see relevant on the phone to my own and they all appear to be the same (although I didn't have to change any settings to get this working for my own phone). Could this be a faulty phone or is there something else that may be causing this issue?
Both Phones are up to date with latest software.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello there,
I've had constant problems with my wifi reception in my room, so I decided to move to ethernet on my phone, at least for streaming video content.
Next I did order this https://www.reichelt.de/?ARTICLE=165094&PROVID=2788&wt_mc=amc141526782519998&gclid=Cj0KCQjwwevLBRCGARIsAKnAJvdjdNWKYiUvEuktVoxBqvco-mV6dL5eAIaDVH68KX7jdTnmxVvdytYaAn-CEALw_wcB Lan to Usb type C adapter...
Aaaand it is not working...
looking at this tutorial, I think I should just be plugging it in and then seeing the icon in my status bar, right?
but I am not...
My guess would be, that I need an usb OTG adapter for whatever reason.
Sadly I do not have any other usb type C enabled devices to test the adapter, but it gets warm and is detected by my switch, so I guess it is working.
Has anyone in here experience with connecting a OP3 or in fact any Android 7 phone to Ethernet?
thanks a lot for help with this!
If your intention is to get internet via cable, and you have a laptop or pc in your room, you can simply keep the ethernet in you pc/laptop, and then use an reverse tethering app, to get the internet on your phone using your usb cable. I remember doing this a couple of years ago when i had an samsung galaxy mini
Quell this would not be in my intentions, but if it is the only way...
Did anyone in here try to use a Oneplus 3 with Ethernet yet?
Btw, I am on stock Oxygen OS and would like to stay there, as I would like to use my phone for mobile payments in the future.
