I flashed Hal9k Rom and currently have magisk v18 installed. I then used magisk to install Sony framework to be able to use Sony apps.
I installed remote play and psvue. I then proceeded to hide them with magisk hide. I still get errors for remote play (the one saying my device is rooted) and psvue comes on without the black screen saying it isn't supported for rooted devices. However I can't scroll down the screen to click sign in my account.
If anyone at all can help me, I would be very grateful and so would my children during long commutes to and from.
UPDATE: I got PSVue to work flawlessly. And I though I got remote play working but unfortunately, it will not register ps4, however the app itself isn't blocker or detects my root. Getting closer to my overall goal.
Hi everyone
This is the best guide in order to get the best possible smoothest experience on the asus rog phone 2 . Let's get started with the basic.
-SOFTWARE: The most stable and smoothest software is always the first rom that the rog phone 2 had. Android 9. i have tested android 10 betas and stable, also custom ROMs but if you want consistent performance, less i/o lags, less heat, stable games fps and better apps compatibility i reccomend the latest version of android 9 WW. Link below:
https://mega.nz/#!spBlACjC!S1UcaxBmnL_e3GGeoBL1ebWJPbSyPQBZESFdxbakuGc
-GCAM: Well, there is also available a ported version of GCAM . You can shoot amazing photos and make very good videos at 60fps with amazing stabilization. The latest stable version for android 9 is linked below. i don't reccomend any configs. To make Gcam work, enable and disable monochrome.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog812/
-IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE AND PERFORMANCE: Use dark theme for all Google apps that support it since oled panels are battery friendly. Lower screen brightness and screen timeout; lower refresh rate and use inbuilt power saver mode when battery is low( this may limit cpu power and disable some data/gps connections on standby). Use Amoled wallpaper and reading mode when needed. OptiFlex is an inbuilt feature to improve app launch speed( it use ram cache like a similar oneplus feature ): i reccomend to leave this feature in auto mode. X MODE will set all cpu clusters to 1200/1300 mhz all time. I reccomend to use only for some gpu intensive games, not for daily use because it will drain the battery quicker. DON'T USE CUSTOM KERNELS since stability, random reboots or cpu frequencies locked can occur on A9.
-GOOGLE SANS AND WALLPAPERS: Get the pure google font , simple install this apk and under setting, display font select this amazing font. If you want pure stock android 9 wallpapers, download them from the link below:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904013689
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4854501&d=1571922365
-DEBLOAT AND STOP SERVICES: Remove useless apps that can be removed like asphalt, asus data transfer and netflix. Disable and stop all apps you don't need like some Google apps to save RAM... If you can't disable some system apps, hide from the launcher to get cleaner interface. Keep apps updated to get best stability.
-CLEANER AUDIO, BETTER BASSES: Use the inbuilt DTS and set this profile. From the graph set this order by lowering the second and the third: 0,-10,-5,0,0,0. Virtual basses and highs below leave them to 0. This is the best profile to get best sound quality and basses. DON'T USE any other audio mods because they will distort the sound and break basses. When you are out, use the outdoor mode( this will set highs to maximum).
audio mono SET TO ON : this will improve fullness and basses at cost of less voice clarity and stereo separation but will sound better
-GLTOOLS FOR GAMERS: This application is an amazing graphic optimizer tool and it's able to improve games framerate, msaa filters, resolution, textures, rendering and emulate old games or newer/older GPU's to make games run on unsupported android versions or simple run better. It's a future proof game tool and it's compatible only with android 9 or earlier. Another big reason to stay on android 9. The combination of gltools and armory crate is just pure gold for gamers. Link below:
https://it.apkhere.com/app/com.n0n3m4.gltools
-CLEAN INSTALLATION OF STOCK ROM,ROOT AND KERNEL: First of all, remove all google accounts, password,PIN and fingerprints. Boot (recovery: format data and wipe Now reboot to bootloader Flash raw android 9 firmware. after make a wipe data/factory reset. Now you can configure your phone and when you are on the homescreen ( if you want root) reboot to bootloader, boot to tpwr( without installing, it's not needed) and install latest MAGISK. Reboot. To flash custom kernel, boot again to tpwr from bootloader, flash kernel and reboot. DON'T WIPE DALVIK CACHE WHEN INSTALLING ROOT or KERNEL because there are performance issues especcially on some apps.
-USEFUL TIPS FOR DAILY USAGE AND LIFE SPAN:
- Use immersive mode to avoid burn in on status/navigation bar and use asus gestures
- Set display timer to 15/30 seconds and auto brightness on to avoid burn in and save battery. change wallpaper regularly and apps position.
-for display color tuning, i reccomend to set to custom and only increase to +1 the saturation to get best movie and game experience( sometimes it reset after a reboot or flashing kernel/modules).
- disable boot up sounds and vibrations to save power. lower the power of 2 strong vibrators.
- smoothest browser you can use: VIA BROWSER or Google go.
- use some useful quick toggles like night light to help your eyes during the night, hz toggle so you can switch to 60hz immediately when battery is low, reading mode...
- don't charge your phone always to 100%. Mobile manager will help your battery lifespan. Guarante the access to it from the settings.
-use less possible magisk modules, only necessary.
well, now you have the cleanest possible experience that makes your phone runs better, smoother than ever!:good::good:

tip for audio:
if you play a lot of pubg, or games where you need to hear surroundings around you, install dolby atmos from this link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81911451&postcount=4575
root and magisk is needed but it works fantastically.
also you can install riru xposed in magisk and gravity box module for xposed to tweak your software further.

Someone know how to activate the same gesture experience than A10? If it, I would install A9 again.
I've tryied, but nope. I don't want to refuse them... I've installed Lawnchair + Quickswitch and is an amazing experience in A10.

Has anyone gotten Viper 4 Android to work with the pixel 6 pro yet? If not, are there alternatives? Any guides to doing this would be appreciated! I searched but didn't find much.
Android 12 (Viper4Android)
Has anyone managed to get Viper4Android working on the latest beta of Android 12? The usual methods don't work (makes sense, since its a new OS). Just curious. I like Android 12 so far, but might roll back to 11 if I can't get Viper going...

I was referring to the method linked in Post #2 where they said they changed their kernel to permissive. The Android 12 fix file is from another thread which you started and posted the file it. You might want to add a link to your post so people know what "fix" file you are talking about since it's not in this thread, lest people might get confused about what you are talking about.
Or maybe I'll just link it here...

I installed by using the method I had to do for OP8T. Install Audio_Modification_Library Magisk Module (DO NOT REBOOT) -> Install Viper Magisk Module (DO NOT REBOOT) -> Open Viper App (this forces a reboot) -> Remove Audio_Modification_Library. It works great for me in apps like AIMP, but in apps like YouTubeVanced have never worked for me.

Thanks to the community, the Viper4android works for me on Pixe6 PRO, BUT I am unable to activate any VIPER-DDC , Headset correction profiles loading takes no effect, tried a few I see them active but no change in sound. Previously my OnePlus 8Pro worked fine with the same version (Android 12). Does anyone experience similar issue ? Can you please try and let me know.

I don't have answer for your question, perhaps go to their Telegram group to ask for help as you may have more chance there.
I do have something for your consideration. I used V4A for longer than I can remember but it must be over 10 years. However, seems the developer has already quitted the project for quite sometime, the driver has never been updated in the past 7-8 years, we are lucky that it is still working with A12. But everything has an end, I tried it on A13 Beta and it doesn't work with it. If you search the web, you properly going to find that so far no one is able to make it work with A13. The A13 is already in beta 4 and official release could be sometime in next month, unless you are going to give up to update to A13, you better start to find something to replace V4A, my choice is JamesDSP but you may find something better suit your needs.
I prefer presets because I don't know what I'm doing. I ended up moving to PowerAmp and am usually pleased with the sound. If only the developer would enable roor features, man that would be cool.
Thanks acwcanada for the suggestion. I looked at the thread and so far may stick with Android 12 (those crazy audiophiles ) because I could not find 2 key features available in Viper4Android.
1. Headphone frequency response correction (VIPER-DDC or AutoEQ in Wavelet). This feature does not even work for me in Pixel 6 pro A12L , workaround: install wavelet and use its AutoEQ feature.
2. Dynamic System feature of Viper4Android creates bass subharmonics using reference frequencies and algorithm (selectable by choosing headphone type), so it can inject them in the music making it feel much richer and restores lack of low frequencies without "booming" effect created by other bass boosters. So far nothing in this word can beat this Viper4Andoid's feature.
Some good news folks: Viper4Android and Wavelet can be stacked and work in tandem .
Perhaps going to write James to consider the above, unless I missed it.
Cheers and thanks Team !

Hello.
First, thank you.
How to go back to OxygenOS? If users don't like or have some issue.
Does it matter if routed or not ?
I saw that Color OS 12 have "Rise phone to ear to answer a call". This is great.
Does it do Wipe? I'm on crappy Beta 2, hoping they fixed some critical flaws...
No. Instalation is like upgrade, not wipeing your data. Photo, music, docs still in the phone.
I've watch the video.
Installed update everything works pretty good didn't notice any issues yet. Google play all here.
Do you still get annoying VoWifi permanent notification and does anyone is using Work profiles (I'm not able to even change password in he work profile...) ? Also my phone is rebooting randomly when connected via BT in the car in combination with Android Auto and mobile connection is extremely unstable, I hope they have fixed it otherwise I'm probably going to throw this mobile away :-( This is valid for Beta 2 btw.
Stable version of ColorOS Android 12? Wait, what does this mean for OOS 12, development is stopped for OOS and we are to move to ColorOS if we want A12?

I can't extract the boot.img for root, do you have it?
I don't understand people saying that Color OS C36 Stable is running fine for them. For me, so far I got following issues :
- the default DPI 360 is too low for me, changing to 420 DPI is much better but it get reset after restart
- you can't configure to launch camera using double Power button press, now it's Volume UP/DOWN
- Developer settings is getting "disabled" after reboot (and settings are reset) to prevent 'phone to be unstable'
- by default MOBILE DATA are set to be Always enabled (can be turned off in Developers settings)
- I can't force to have same PIN/Password for Work profile - it doesn't stay enabled
- Google and other apps are frequently loosing permissions, eg. to even access contacts (doesn't matter if Permission monitoring is disabled or not)
- Android Auto doesn't work for me and it anyway asks when connecting always to choose connecting method (why????)
- phone is full of Chinese crap (not all aps can be removed while I believe during update they will anyway install back)
- phone is also heavily integrated with some Chinese Cloud solution - HeyTap Cloud and some of their Chinese payment method
- Nova Google Companion doesn't work anymore, didn't have time to take a look on it yet
The good thing - annoying VoWifi notification is gone (was present in the OxygenOS Open Beta).
So, I will for sure switch back to OxygenOS (aparently I'm going to loose ALL User data?) BUT I don't understand one thing.
Are we getting OxygenOS final 12, or it's ColorOS 12 as final version ? (yes I know about merging yet I don't get the Beta 12 OxygenOS stuff).
Thank you.

Hi everyone, please excuse if my post has spelling mistakes, it's electronically translated into English from my native language. I am new here and may never be able to contribute again because I actually have no idea at all with changing smartphone operating systems and it was the first time I did anything like this. However, I really wanted to have the LineageOS for MicroG on my device, so I took a total of about a week to read up on the subject, watch Youtube videos and acquire the necessary knowledge to achieve my goal.
About my goal;
I successfully installed LineageOS MicroG 18.1 (version 2021.12.20) on my Oneplus 9 Pro today, without any significant problems and right on the first try. My approach is based on gathering various information that I found on forums, websites and Youtube. At this point already a big thank you to all who are responsible for the creation of the following mentioned instructions or videos.
Hardware;
For my project I finally used the following:
- My new Oneplus 9 Pro, LE2123 (European version)
- a Windows 10 PC with USB 3 ports
- A USB 3 cable (USB A to C)
Software;
I used the following software:
- cmd from Windows
- ADB and Fastboot: platform-tools_r31.0.3-windows.zip
- Updates of ADB and Fastboot (see reference to Youtuber below)
- Update of Qualcomm Drivers (same youtuber as for the ADB update)
- File copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip
-LineageOS for MicroG recovery image file
- LineageOS for MicroG main file in .zip format
You will find the various files and programs via links on the manual pages of LineageOS, LineageOS for MicroG, via the links of the Youtube videos and via Google.
The use of the TWRP software was not necessary.
Instructions;
The following instructions I used or were important for me in this order to understand what I had to do, but not in the order to install LineageOS (for MicroG)(!):
1.) the main LineageOS for Oneplus 9 Pro lemonadeap guide (Link) (LineageOS for MicroG refers to this guide, see here ). Even if it would never have been enough to reach the goal, it was important and somewhat conclusive together with the following instructions.
2.) The Youtube video of Unstoppable Tech LINEAGE OS ON ONEPLUS 9PRO || INSTALLATION + WITHOUT TWRP!!! #linegageos #ONEPLUS
Alone this tutorial would never have been enough to get to my goal, but was a very good addition and explanation to the main LineageOS tutorial.
3.1) The Youtube Video from NKT Studio How to Install ADB on Windows 10 // ADB Drivers or Plaform Tools Install Windows 10
3.2) The Youtube Video from TechiBee Fix Fastboot/Adb & Qualcomm drivers (Unbrick tool) not detecting on Windows 10/11
In the preparation of the Windows 10 computer, this videos were very helpful!
4.) The Youtube video from Mental Outlaw How to Install Lineage OS to Oneplus 7 Pro
While this video was not goal oriented in installing LineageOS because he used the TWRP software for the 7 Pro, it was basically very informative and made me familiar with the various displays during installation. Don't be put off by the fact that he uses TWRP, it's not necessary on the 9 Pro. The steps before and after using the TWRP software were similar in the installation on the 9 Pro.
Procedure;
And now for the installation, I recommend you to proceed as follows:
1. watch the above videos in detail and read the manuals carefully. You must be familiar in advance at least with what is coming.
2. update Windows 10 to the latest version.
3. download all the software packages already mentioned
4. for me it didn't matter at all that I used a USB 3 cable and a USB 3 port.
5. set up ADB under C:
6. put from the beginning the three files
- copy-partitions-20210323_1922.zip
- the LineageOS for MicroG recovery image
- and the LineageOS for MicroG main file
into the adb folder under C:
5. make sure from the beginning that your Oneplus 9 Pro is recognized by adb AND Fastboot! Only after I updated the ADB drivers according to NKT Studio and also the drivers from Qualcomm, Fastboot recognized my device. Only after that I could run the command fastboot oem unlock. I guess that i didn't get any problems because i updated the adb drivers and also the Qualcomm drivers.
6. stick to the order of the manual.
Edit - PS: do NOT LOCK THE BOOTLOADER after hafe finished the installation. If you du it the Smartphone will stop to run / it will shop up a message, that the device is compromised and can't be booted anymore. "More Infos on g.co/ABH" .
I was able to stop the loop message pressing Volume UP and DOWN simultaneosly and so to bring the device in the emergency download mode. Over adb re-unlock fastboot tiping "fastboot oem unlock" and the device will restart LineageOS. It will vipe away all your datas, but the device will finally work fine again.
I hope my post can be helpful to someone.
Greetings, happy holidays and stay healthy.
Mike
I went the way of carbon rom and flashing microg, fdroid and bromite webview for 9 pro . I've lineage with microg on my tablet though.
Thank you for this write up. This rom seems solid. Although with signature spoof checker on fdroid I'm showing that sig spoofing is disabled for some reason and I'm not passing safety net

That's where I got it, in the microg settings all the boxes are checked.
Are you passing safety net with magisk?

I don't have this on 9 pro. I used carbon rom and now trying havoc is. I remember this happened if I installed microg from fdroid on carbon. But since you're using lineage baked with microg, it should be a different issue. I am using lineage with microg on my tab s5e and it passes safetynet.

I have been trying to access the site since yesterday, unfortunately without success. Can anyone confirm that it is not available? Do you have any idea why? Or do I have a Network problem?
The operating system runs well so far, I only had problems once when I changed something in the developer options, but this was immediately fixed when I turned the developer options option off and on again.
The Oneplus 9 Pro is quite big, almost too big, a flagship smartphone from Oneplus with a screen size of max. 6" would be great.
About the features, the camera is not the best, do you guys have any tips on how I can improve it? Have read that you could / should possibly install the GCam, is that at all recommended when trying NOGAPP?

Does anyone have a link to the copy-partitions file? The link from the LineageOS instructions constantly says "No mirrors found" when I try to download from there.

for 18.1, it's enought to ne on OOS11.2.10.10
flash the rom from twrp recovery
(all changes are due to A12 switch)
Does Android Auto work for anyone here? It just won't show on Infotainment system of my car. I did even a clean installation of LineageOS for MicroG. Tried it with my old Xiaomi Mi 8 and it worked immediately.
