Hi, I’d love to have a way to customize the Recent Apps screen on Android 10.
It’s been many months now and there are many Android 10 ROMs, but as far as I know, none of them offer a custom Recents screen.
I always liked Omni Switch/Slim Recents, and only used ROMs that included these. But I’d also settle for a grid or something like that. I don’t like Quickswitch at all, switching between apps takes so long when only one of them is shown at a time rather than 10+.
There were plenty of ROMs with Recents customization for Android 8/9, and I’d love this on Android 10!
So if anyone knows of a ROM or a way to change the recents on the newest version of Android, just let me know.
Thanks!
I know right, every month I clean flash the latest q roms over havoc 2.9(pie) hoping I get some new features but nope. No screen stabilization, no slim recents, no random animations, hotspot issues, bloody hell reachability cursor doesn't work either. Q feels like such a downgrade, I'm just gonna stay on havoc 2.9 until Android 11.
Tl: dr, no q rom has it yet just stay on pie.
I just released an alternative to that app, you can find it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.quickcursor
Thanks!
AOSP Extended ROM allows u to switch between Pie And Oreo recent style

Hi, today I saw a post regarding the new pie that Pie dev team is trying to achieve which basically abolishes the "Bare Pie" functionality, aka the always on statusbar with 0% navbar.
Now I have such grown to this option that disappeared statusbar ( with normal pie ) looks aweful to me in terms of aesthetics and functionality too. So I am starting this poll to know how this decision will affect your usage of future PA roms .
You just need to vote in between three options from
Bare pie ( Statusbar on) -- Phone ui
Normal pie ( Hidden statusbar )
Other ( tablet ui ) and pie combo -- Havent used tablet ui after ICS days so really dnt know how pie behaves with it.
Keep voting guys , there are lotts of PA users in our community,
I've gotta have a status bar. With with nav set to 0%. With pure pie (extended desktop) I keep missing texts because I don't see them.

Normal pie. I need my screen to be full screen or i feel like I'm wasting space.

Will vote from a PC later but yeah. I like having choices. Options. To be able to set up my phone my way. And with the new PA and pie. It's pretty much this way or that way and that's how you have to use it.... Meh.
Plenty of other ROMs with pie let me choose my pie style with or without status bar and don't make me remove my nav bar or enable expanded desktop either. So I run them. Plus most have DPI/Layout or "hybrid" options as well at this point. This is android and I personally feel like limiting users to either A or B isn't cool. That's just me. No disrespect to PA dev team at all, but I specifically bought a nexus because of the development for it and specifically flash for mods, hacks, features, etc. that can't be found on stock or any other phones... Minimal AOSP base ROM + hybrid & pie isn't enough to keep me using it anymore. Like I said that stuff is in plenty of other projects which have a lot more features without affecting stability.
Not bashing PA at all. I'm a huuuge fan. It used to be my goto ROM. It was the first thing ever flashed on my nexus and I loved it. ICS-JB(4.1.x) nothing IMO could beat it at the time, nothing.
... but she changed and she'll never be the same I think. As much as it hurts, I think I need to move on...
Normal Pie for me, Bare Pie looks imbalanced. You have top inactive screen without the bottom. It's weird
I love the pie, but also need my stausbar to be visible. If it only replaced navbar it'd be fine. One more thing, the trigger area is either too big (prevents effective use of keyboard buttons), or too small (too difficult to access pie controls). No matter what side of the screen you put it on, the trigger area blocks the use of something.

I don't use pie in PA since it hides the status bar and the reasons stated above - either doesn't active 75 percent of the time because the detection is set low, but when setting it higher it blocks certain keyboard keys/menu buttons from being detected.

Hey Guys,
I've been on Exodus for a long time. It seems as though there is not going to be a Nougat Exodus for some time so I am looking to move to another ROM.
Anybody can make a recommendation to a Nougat alternative to Exodus? I'd like to keep is as vanilla Android as possible.
What are your must have features from exodus? I would recommend you any OOS base rom just because of camera but someone else may recommend you another one.
Im curious about exodus features you want though
Where is the home option in nougat update? How can i switch from default oneplus launcher to any other launcher and vice versa
@fuarkgl3
It was plain, stable, and smooth. That's pretty much why I liked Exodus so much.

Just go to "apps" in settings and press on the settings button. Actually you will find two: the three dot button and a cogwheel. I am talking about the cogwheel.
There you can choose the default launcher app, browser app, music app and so on...
Thanks
One more problem is when I go to customize, there is no option for Google search bar, there are only GESTURES AND ICONS options, earlier it was there to add Google search bar to my home screen. Now it's gone.... How can I get it back
So, pretty much official OxygenOS would be my best bet?
@neerajaggarwal
Why are you asking this in this thread?
I trieyof Miui Roms
Is there Any Custom Rom With Full-Screen Gestures
Because I Loved Them Most..
I want to know too.
Hey there, I'm using Edge Gestures . It's definately worth it [1,59€] I'm on RR and really missed Xiaomis FS Gestures. So I found this app. It's not exactly the same experience, but 90% reliable. I think, since it's not ported from MIUI, edge gestures is fine enough. I've set up pretty the same functionality but its coming without that UI that you know from MIUI ("drops from the sides" or that "pushing actual screen into the middel" to get recent menu). I'm satisfied with that.
There are nevertheless some few bugs. F.ex. in youtube or netflix i cannot use sometimes the gestures, so i have to minimize it with the inside app actions.
Edge gestures is present in LOS extended and RR(I haven't tested all roms so I'm not sure if other roms support it too

yeah, but you cant customize it. With the official app you can set up things like exact position, like thickness, offset, seperate hold timeout, swipe treshold, other swipe actions... and the implemented one in RR seems to be a little bit buggy (for me)
AEX has full screen gestures too, and they work really well
I boot Android P semiGsi (PR1) in my Whyred Global 4/64, mostly for try the new Gestures, so i have some thoughts.
First, the objetive for introduce Gestures in UX is enjoy all screen interface, so, I think that the "common" of the people think that the nav bar it has to gone.
Second, the transition/animation for each gestures has to be in context of the finger movement, for reach a efficient interaction,
I notice that the animations from recent apps it change, and now the apps are into "cards" structure, but, the way it how the pill interact with the cards its interesant, in vertical way.
Now, for now, who want to use gestures in Aosp base roms (stock, no heavy pers), has to use apps that imitate the butons from nav bar, but if in Android P can imitate the interaction between the pill and the cards for recent apps gestures, i think it gonna work.
bro, my advice is to use a problem english. I do not understand you. most of them if not all...
screenshoot please
and whats the issue again ? and what is actually proposed ?
i kinda lost reading it.
Where can I activate the gestures ? Didnt find it in the newest rom ....
Is there any custom ROM that have the gestures like stock miui?
There are roms that have gestures, but they work without these beautiful animations, for example when you go home there is no such thing as moving app upwards and minimizing to icon, when you swipe up it just close the app just like with navbar. Not sure how it works on Flyme Os, but on Flyme Os 6.8 I believe, there are implemented gestures from MIUI, but trust me, it's not as smooth and nice as on stock MIUI. Maybe on Flyme Os 7.0+ are better gestures, but when I was looking for this version, there was nothing for Mi Mix 2
Install and configure this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ss.edgegestures
Disable navbar.
I'm using Gesture Control which works really nicely, I've got it setup to match MIUI's implementation: swipe up from the bottom for home, in from the right for back, and in from the left for switching to the most previously used app.

Thx for the reply, I will stay in MIUI , I don't see a big improvement by switching to custom ROMs.

Yeah, MIUI is just one of the best UIs and I really don't think there's a need to change to custom software, unless Android Pie, but that's just because it's kinda new and fresh
