Hello I got a samsung wireless duo 2018 model. ( the one with the upright stand) It is for my bedside table and on the whole I love it. The fan is noticable. On my note 9 I can turn off fast charge and its silent. My buds charge on the flat side with no fan noise at all but heres the problem. My galaxy watch makes the fan spin up every time. It doesnt need a fan as the charger it comes with doesnt have it. Is there a way to fix this? Either by taking my Galaxy Watch out of fast charge mode like the Note 9 or by disabling the fan in the wireless duo itself?
I never use fast charge as all my devices charge overnight.
Thanks in advance.

I've been searching the interwebs and went to the Samsung store at Best Buy (mistake) and haven't been able to find a concrete answer.
Does the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 have wireless charging? Qi? Actually any of the new galaxy tab pro line?
The back is not replaceable like other galaxy devices so an aftermarket replacement back with wireless charging is not foreseeable correct?
Thanks for anyone who can help!

It does not have wireless charging. It would take a week to charge it even if it did.
I remember having the Palm Pre wireless charging puck and yes, it was slow. Even doing other things while having it wirelessly charge (watching a movie, playing a game, tethering) would slow the charging rate down to the point where it would actually discharge because the power drain was higher than the charging speed LOL
I had wireless charging on my nexus 7 and loved it. Yes it was slower but it was nice to not have to fiddle with USB cables in the dark. Batteries usually last the day so I just had to put it on at night. If bought 2 Nokia Qi chargers at att when they were on sale for $25. Now they are just collecting dust.

I have a G Pad and have a QI USB wireless charger receiver, basically plugs into USB and stick the coil on the back plate with sellotape haha!
The great thing about this is it can work on phones that don't support QI.
I have got a case off eBay to hide the receiver (it still chargers great) through the case.
I'd say the maximum charge distance was maybe 5 - 7 mm.
It is slow. About 13 - 14% an hour. (Stock was 9%)
I drop it on QI pad at night and its 100% when I get up.
I sometimes put it on when I go out and whatnot. I love it!
I can deal with the charging rate, because its a lot more convenient, I'm one that fiddles with USB cords haha!
Still use USB for phone but converting to full Wireless slowly.
Hey guys, Is there a Wireless Charger for Galaxy Tab S 8.4 or the 10.1 model? I tried searching but I keep seeing Qi Wireless Charger supporting most of other android device except Galaxy Tab S. Please do let me know ( link) if you found a wireless charger for your Galaxy Tab S. :fingers-crossed:

The Galaxy tab does not support Qi charging built in. To only way to support wireless charging would be to add a universal micro USB Qi receiver such as the one in the link below. However based on the size of the tablet, not sure if this would even work well due to the position of where the receiver would sit in comparison to the charger. Personally, don't think it's worth it on this tablet.

There is a reason, which is to reduce the wear and the chance of breaking the usb port. 2 different phones I was able to keep using for a year after the usb port broke because I had hacked in the receiver from the Palm Pre. There was no way (for me, without more exotic equipment than a fine tip soldering pen) to re-solder the usb port. Too much stuff crowded around it and it was surface mount. But I could get 2 wires on to the ground and +5v easy.
Warranty isn't an option unless you never rooted, so that leaves having to be very careful never to break this weak point for the next 5 years.
Myself, I can't see sticking that thing on mine either, I'm just saying that there are reasons one might want to and it's not automatically ridiculous or pointless.

Don't get me wrong, I love wireless charging and have been using it for a couple of years now on my phones. I also thought about it for my LG G Pad 8.3 tablet. However don't think its a good option for the 10.5. Reason is as I mentioned, positioning. Most chargers are small. Positioning the tab on it may prove to be challenging due to sign. I think it would end up leaning off to one side and not being able to get in a good position. Thus would be frustrating. I think the 8.4 would stand a better chance but not the 10.5. Just my opinion anyway.

You could probably just put the charger on the tablet in that case. It's also perfectly possible to make your own tray that has the charger embedded in it.
For devices too large for the charger. Cut a piece of cork(same thickness of the charger) to the size of the largest device that needs charging. Cut out a hole to imbed the charger into the cork. Cut out a hole in the end of the cork for the charger power cord. The end result is the charger and the cork will provide a nice flush surface to charge any size tablet.
An easier way to charge tablets is to lay the tablet face down and set the charger upside down on the bottom of the tablet.
QI is designed for phone
Guys,
Ive been charging my tab (had a couple.. current one is Samsung Tab A) for years.
I simply buy a charging receiver with a USB connection. Plug it in, tape it onto the back and away you go...BUT...
USB charging receivers are designed for phones. 2000, 3000mah batteries so a charging input of 1000mah is ok. The tab battery is 6000 so a 1000 charger is Slooow
Most USB (wall) chargers are 1000mah and/or 2500mah.
wish someone would make a 2500 qi qharging receiver.... then life would be much better.
Even thought of updating my tab so I have faster CPU and USb type C connection... problem is QI for USB-C is also only 1000mah... WHY???
Faster charging would be much better

Have i missed it somewhere or have they dumped wireless charging ??
I use it all the time, it's so convenient !!
yeah they've got rid of it. annoyed me too as I brought a charger for my nexus 5.
Contemplating cancelling my order and getting a new nexus 5
It's such an underrated feature !! it's almost make or break for me. Especially if the battery is as shocking as the original
One of the top feature of Nexus 5
I must say that take away the wireless charging was a bad idea. Why ?
I have a Nexus 5 and I lay the phone on the charging plate which I did not need to
use the cable. Very comfortable. Even if it was not so rapid it worked.
So the decision is not to buy any Nexus 5X (The european price is also high)
It was a very odd decision, a new and upcoming technology!
I just had a IT classroom refitted with wireless chargers!
Yeah, I am bummed. I used to charge at night and then at work. Hopefully the larger battery (only around 15% but it's something) and better battery efficiency in M means I only need it at night now and will have to plug it in.
NFC and wireless charging are two separate pieces of hardware
I can't say I'll miss it, especially with the USB-C charging now, but then again I never found the value of having it in my Nexus 5 so it's not much of a loss for me.
For me, the time saved or convenience in wireless charging is negated by reversible type C and fast charging.

I actually was planning on getting a wireless charger for the new Nexus I had planned on getting, but I was bummed out with many due to the specs so I ended up cancelling my order as well. I haven't been able to try wireless charging, but I have used fast charging and it rocks... I'm one of those that sometimes use my phone while charging and I don't think I'd be able to do that while wireless charging, especially since it charges slow too. I think I'd take turbo charging any day at least for my needs.
It was useless to me. I don't mind taking the time to plug it in. So i definitely won't miss this feature.
Its not just the time it takes to plug in..its the wear and tear on your USB port from plugging it and unplugging it at the very least once a day. Dont know how long you tend to keep phones but most of the time at the end of 2 years that USB port is starting to get at least a little....weird...if not just outright broken.
I really dont understand how wireless charging is not basically standard on any phone now a days...I tell you what Ive used NFC exactly zero times on my Lumia..I use wireless charging everyday.
Its nearly a dealbreaker not having wireless charging and borderline an unacceptable oversight.

Wear and tear is a true concern with old micro USB with the prongs and specific way to insert it but I think that's less of a problem with reversible plugs like lightning and type C. Also, I've been plugging in my Galaxy S5 probably at least 3 times a day everyday (To work, to home, while sleeping) since May 2014 and my port has actually held up just fine. Doesn't feel loose at all.

out of all my phones, i have never had issues with wear and tear with the USB port. I understand your concern but in my case its not a factor. I had my Nexus 5 since the day it was released and i didnt have any issues with the USB port and i would plug it in at least twice a day for two years. Maybe if a wireless charger was included with most devices then i can see why it would be a must for phones these days.
With doze working great on my n9 I'm hoping I can just charge when I get home from work, and leave it off the charger at night, and hold me through a day at work. I will miss the convenience of just plopping it down though.

So I've been tinkering away these last few days every since buying this 2nd hand Gear VR. I was sadly disappointed to learn that many of us out there on Custom roms have been experiencing problems with the charge pass through port on the underside of the VR.
Annoying when your in the middle of your favorite game then suddenly your phone goes dead and the only way to charge is to pull it out. Wouldn't it be good if there were a way to charge without resorting to pulling it out?
It got me thinking????.....How to charge without pulling it out then it occurred to me Wireless Charging!!
Luckly enough I had a old Qi universal wireless base but needed the receiver for my N4 *(Being posted).
The Gear VR I have is the consumer edition so it needed to be modded to accommodate my N4, and we all know about the Overheating issues.
I disassembled the Qi base and position the circuit board out of the way for ease of use.
Hopefully this will be effective enough to keep the battery drainage to a minimal.
Options to have it plugged in via AC when at home or Powerbank when out and about.
Im currently looking for a charging combo where i can put my phone (oneplus 6) and the watch in/on at the same time.

I've seen the samsung galaxy charger duo which charges both the phone and the watch, and there are also a couple of alternatives on amazon if you search for duo wireless chargers
One of the main reasons I pre-ordered my Galaxy Watch here in the UK was that it not only came with the standard single wireless charger that everyone gets, but it also came with a free Duo wireless charger! The Duo is OK, though I'm a bit surprised it used micro USB rather than USB C for power and that the section to put your watch on isn't magnetic like the single standard wireless charger is (I guess it's not so critical because its horizontal rather than vertical).
Both charging areas of the Duo have "fast charging" written on them, though is the Galaxy Watch even capable of that? I think the retail price of the Duo (89 pounds in the UK) is scandalously high - it's probably worth about a third of that. Single Qi chargers can be found for 10 pounds or less, so to charge 9 times that for a Duo is ridiculous.
Im guessing your right, but im looking for an alternative that wont charge your phone wireless too (because the op6 hasnt got wireless charging though)
Same here, I have a Nexus5x (and no plan to buy a Samsung phone any time soon).
I might end up 3d printing a stand with usb-c for my phone. I just need to find some good Galaxy Watch charger for that.

That actually seems like a pretty good idea. If you do try and do this, you could share the model you used for the charger. Thanks in advance!

I honestly wouldn't expect an Apple charger to be compatible with anything but Apple.
I was in a Samsung Store and they have the Galaxy Watches on Display on the Chargers that look Great.
I would like to know How and Where and How Much.
How can I find the Samsung Galaxy Watch Charging Display Stand that I can Purchase?
Where is it Available to be able to Purchase?
How Much is the Official Samsung Galaxy Watch Charging Display Stand?
If Anyone Know then Please let Me know.
