I am new to titanium backup. I have the pro version I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to make a backup of user apps into a zip file so that I can save on flash drive and flash onto device after I format data and flash a new rom. Does anyone have any help on these and titanium backup
I don't know about a zip. The way I normally do it is I let Google restore my apps, then I go into Titanium Backup (I've already place my backup folder onto the device with my backups), go to Menu in the top left, then Batch options. Now choose Restore all Apps will h Data. In that option there is an choice at the top to only restore data, which is what I choose since Google installed the apps already. However if you want you can install just Titanium Backup and do the apps and Data together. So not a zip, but at least that will do them all at once.

the batch ( means all apps restore together) you only can use in the paid version-
use restore/ then the application you want to restore-/then restore with data-if you want the settings.-
but if you didn´t backup the app with titanium backup before- you have a problem

hi, i recently tried installing the stock ics sms app, it was pretty good but i missed calling by bringing the phone to my ear. here is where the issue is. i uninstalled the stock ics sms app which i recently installed and for some reason in my app drawer there is still a shadow for the app. now, when trying to restore the backup of the original one, titanium backup is not giving me the option to restore but i see the backup in the verify backups section (but its crossed out). how do i get this restored? i even see the backup files in the backup folder.
i have put images of the shadowed app icon and the titanium backup issues.

Anyone have anything on this?

I recently switched from TWRP to CWM because I had trouble flashing CM11 in TWRP. Anyway since I am new to CWM I have these two noob questions:
(1) Does CWM backup EVERYTHING the same way TWRP did? In TWRP, I had the option to check everything (system, data, cache, etc) to backup, and restoring a backup restored absolutely everything. CWM didn't give me any options to check during backup and plus the backup files are much smaller than those in TWRP.
(2) As you can see in the screenshot below, cache.ext4.tar, data.ext4.tar, and system.ext4.tar are all 0 B in size. Is this normal?

If you just wiped data and cache then made the backup then those files would be 0 bytes. But there should be an advanced backup option then you can chose what to backup. I use twrp Abe have no problems but try out philz. It's just like cwm but has more options and is full touch but you can still use hardware buttons.
The tool is created to backup restore IMEI from phone itself (Recovery)..
Why should i backup?? -
This Tool takes backup of below important partitions .
modemst1 ,modemst2, fsg, fsc, DDR ,bk1 ,modem
This part of the device contains some important and some basic info related to our device identity like Bluetooth address, wireless devices MAC addresses, and the very main IMEI address , programming parameters for the device such as your account information (phone number, etc), data provisioning parameters, and a whole bunch of other things.
which is very specific to your device and can't be easily generated.
So we can't take chance losing these data.
Requirments-
Any Custom Recovery (like TWRP,CWM etc..)
Process
Download the zip from Here http://d-h.st/rp2 or from Attachments .
Place it in your sdcard.
Goto recovery and flash it.
follow the instructions ...
Note-
The Backup files are stored in "MYIMEI_TOOL" folder of your Internal or SD card as you choose.
Credits -
This tool uses some scripts from Dr.ketan's EFS tool for Note ll

Not working on redmi 1s when i flash via twrp restart phone no aroma start.
So my beloved Tab S finally died recently due to accidental damage. I have wept every night since. :'(
Jk but seriously, I miss it badly. I had the perfect setup on LineageOS and everything working nicely, then it fell off the arm of the sofa and smacked the screen hard. Cracked badly and the digitizer is also broken. I was able to complete a full backup in TWRP using the adb shell, so I'm pretty happy with that.
My new device is a Huawei Mediapad M3. It's the best tablet at the same kind of screen ratio I could find. Decent price too. I've not been able to unlock the bootloader or root it just yet, but I expect to have this done shortly.
My question for you guys is how can I extract my apps from the backed up data partition in my TWRP backup from my Tab S to my Mediapad?
I can easily access the data archive by renaming the file extension to .tar and opening in winrar, but when I copied a single app folder to my phone (just to test it) the app did not appear in the app drawer after restarting.
Has anyone here had experience extracting apps from TWRP backups successfully?
Basically you are looking for /Data/yourappname/ and /sdcard/Android/yourappname folders.
I would suggest first install yourappname.apk, then when it will make folder structure in mentioned above paths, copy your backup data for yourappname over and restart. That should do it.
PS: but for dealing with /Data partition you need root access in your new tab. Also , pay attention for attributes of the files copied over.
Yes, you can restore your apps with titanium backup and a twrp backup.
