OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod - OnePlus 6T Themes, Apps, and Mods

Short description:
Double tap on AOD screen to open lock screen
Description:
This app adds the ability to double tap on AOD screen to open lock screen, where you can view notification text and remove them with a swipe without unlocking the screen.
This app was made exclusively for the OnePlus 7th model and was tested on it, but should work on OnePlus 6 / 6T, 7 / 7T, 7 Pro / 7T Pro models and possibly on other devices with Amoled screens. This app is not tied to this brand of device.
Installation:
1). Activate application "OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod"
Settings -> System -> Accessibility -> OnePlus AOD DoubleTap Mod
2). Enable option "Tap the screen to show"
Settings -> Display -> Ambient display -> Tap the screen to show
How it works:
On the off screen, one tap turns on AOD screen, on AOD screen using this app, double tap opens the lock screen.
Double tap of this app works only on AOD screen! This screen is not completely off, it is a screen with a black background on which the clock and notification icons.

I'm on android 10: 10.3.0, and doesnt show option.
So the doubletap on aod to open lockscreen is working without this mod. Doubletap work on aod default android 10 for me. One tap to show aod doesnt work default rom. This I want (one tap to show aod).

This mod is addition to one tap to show AOD and must work perfectly is your phone locked with fingerprint. How it works in other cases, I don’t know.
This mod only turn on screen when you double tap on AOD screen.

I don't see the setting in ambient displays, im on Android 10 oneplus open beta

The option "Tap the screen to show" didn't appear.
Running oos 10.3.0

Same to me.

Work on ob3

Pretty sure this only works on 6T...

not work on Oneplus 6 with 10.3.0 !!

Doesn't work for me. It doesn't show the option in the ambient display although i activated accessibility service for the app.
OnePlus 5t

Works, quite useful, thanks

I'm on 9.0.16 and it works perfect for me, thank you
Sent from my OnePlus6T using XDA Labs

Working great..

Works for me on 10.3.0. Although if you are unlocked (e.g. kept unlocked by Smart Lock), the double tap will bypass the lock screen. Basically this is a way to enable "tap to show ambient display" and "double tap to wake" at the same time.

Hi,
Just install and it works fine.

Double tap dim and triple tap max screen in aw2?

Wondering if there is option to turn on the double tap to dim screen and triple tap on the button for max brightness in aw2?
Just updated but it seems like the funtion is not there by default. It's one of the more useful shortcut I constantly use with aw1.5.
No such thing.
Yeah, they removed all the essential functionality I was using frequently. Good job.
I agree it was a mistake to remove this feature. Google specifically made AW 2.0 for the LG Watch Sport though and said forget everyone else without an ambient light sensor. The Bubble Launcher dev recently found a way to add the shortcut back, but it breaks the Assistant shortcut in the process.

This Option Doesn't Appear In My "MI Xiaomi A2 Lite" As It Is Already Updated On October Patch.
I dont see this in my settings too. I think it has to do with where your country is
Im still on September update with magisk installed, but i have no module related to this. I'm currently in the US
No new gestures in Germany with October patch.
Got swipe fingerprint in UK but not others. I have an imported device that has double tap to wake screen hardware which by default is switched on and can't be turned off (yet here). Not complaining, I like the feature.
Gesture with fingerprint reader appears after second November update (~50MB size). Lift to check and double tap to check - never seen them. BTW I have the device with double tap to wake which could not be switched off, the same situation as @p3108
By chance what's the build number you have? I have two Lites on different builds, both on the November patch, only one has the options for swipe and jump to camera. The other only jump to to camera
you need have OPM1.171019.019.V9.6.11.0.ODLMIFF which is 2nd november patch, with lower version there is no option for finger print gestures.

Just to clarify all the questions, I install the stock Rom after install the android Pie gsi, and some how these appear in the setting. This happens twice, this is the first time, the second time ot actually work with raise to wake and some other (i don't remember) from Havoc os. Im not sure how it works or how to make it happens again
Seems the swipe fingerprint for notification is gone in pie.. hopefully thats temporary, I was getting quite use to it

Just install the Nacho Notch from play store. It works beautifully on our phone.

This app have good wallpapers: play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paolo4c.wallpaper
To hide the notch in Galaxy A50,
Go to Settings.
Tap on Display.
Tap full Screen Apps
Now, three dots, and select "Advanced Options"
You will find “Hide camera cutout” option.
If you enable it, the notch will disappear.
If you want notch back, disable the “Hide camera cutout” option.

Disable or Remove Digital Wellbeing

Hello all,
I have a Verizon version 3XL on Android 10. I have heard about people removing or disabling Digital Wellbeing, but I can't seem to do it on the device.
Does anyone know any ADB commands I can use to achieve this? Thank you!
Go to settings on your Pixel smartphone
Tap 'Digital Wellbeing' In the top right,
tap the three-dot icon
Tap 'Turn off usage access'
On the next screen toggle 'permit usage access' to off

Is double tap to turn off screen possible

As the title suggests is it possible to double tap on empty area of Home Screen to turn the phone off just like we use Double tap to wake the phone.
This was an inbuilt feature on Asus Zenfone 5z and seems counter intutive to have only one option to turn the screen on and not off here.
Regards
One option; with Nova launcher
Yes, likely via custom ROMs.
Also, probably via custom launchers. Nova Prime allows double-tap to "lock screen". Double tap to "screen off" very likely via a specific 'Nova activities' option but I haven't figured this out yet.
EdXposed ---> install GravityBox ---> it's then possible to turn screen off via double-tap on lock screen or via double-tap on status bar.

You can use edge screen. SoftKey Edge. There is a lock option. It is not double tap but it works.
you can add the screen off icon at navigation bar with a samsung app called Navstar, with that you can single tap to turn off the screen
Good Lock - Navstar adds a navigation button to turn the screen off

You must have the prime license, in gestures&inputs there are multiple options to choose from, for each gesture you can choose any action available, you can even have the same action assigned to multiple gestures, I use one finger down to lock, and also double tap to lock

As i already have Nova prime, this worked perfectly. Thanks.
Nice just learned something new. Used nova star and added screen off and notification bar button. Now I have 5 buttons readily available.
Wish you could open and app with a button. That way I can reserve the power double tap for another app.

Feeling seriously numb right now. I've used Nova (Prime) for years, and never knew that was there. Searched all over for a good program to sleep/ lock. Found a very simply one (Screen Lock Widget 1.0) which is no longer available, but I have. Works great. No resources used. But having the ability in Nova is great.
So.....thank you for sharing that. It's the simple things in life.
It makes no sense why Samsung would give us the means to tap awake our screen but not add that option to turn it off.
That was a weird decision for not including double tap to sleep. It's like making an automatic car with clutch where the clutch is only used for the reverse lol.
Anyhow, this is by far the best app on the playstore that can put the phone sleep and still use the default One UI.
The nice thing about it is that you can also tap on the status bar to put the phone to sleep while using an app for instance.
Tripe tap on the home screen is recommended though, you'll understand why after using it for a while

That is very interesting, I never use always on display and it seems like the Note 10 has a lot of issues. For instance Samsung voice recorder app doesn't play recorded audios while the screen off( stops playing after 2min or so).

I just tried Nav Star app from within Good Lock (From Samsung App store) and added 2 extra buttons.
Thanks to the user who recommended it earlier, now I can turn off phone as well pullbdown notification bar from the Navigation bar, if I can get used to these extra buttons I might as well keep them.
Yes software wise they do need to improve a lot of things here.
1. First Install Good Lock :
http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.android.goodlock
2. Then Install Nav Star : http://apps.samsung.com/appquery/appDetail.as?appId=com.samsung.systemui.navillera
Well, very useful indeed, but I prefer hiding the nav bar, just to avoid screen burn in and to get some more screen area
