Good morning,
I've been using this phone for a couple months but my battery needs deliberating and I don't know how to do it. I will charge it overnight and I wake up and it says 84% , this is with the mod. What are others experience of battery life with and without the mod batt ery?
Thank you

Recently my battery life has dropped extremely low. I have been running setcpu to underclock when not in use to preserve battery life and it was working very well draining 1% on standby every 2 hours approx. A couple days ago I had it on standby and somehow in the morning the battery was completely dead after I had fully charged it the night before. It is such a drastic drop and I didn't even change anything that I think it's the actual battery itself. I can watch the %'s drop just watching my phone now. Has anyone else had a problem with this? It seems that the battery can't hold a charge anymore.
Looking at my phone right now, I had it off the charger for about 10 minutes after it fully charged and it's already down to 90%.
The first question that comes to mind is have you made any changes lately? Installed new software? upgraded something? If your phone was getting okay battery life last week and now it's not, it's time to start pin pointing what, if anything, has changed. Keep it mind it is possible for a battery to die...
Someone on this forum told me to erase the battery stats. I was told to go into the recovery. I use clockwork. There is an option to reset battery stats. This worked for me but do some research on this site. I am not an expert but was told to do this by someone who is

welcome all who see this. alright, my phone is rooted, and i went to upgrade to gingerbread and i used the mikg rom 2.5:1-2. unfortunately i erased the battery stats not paying attention and talking. from then....the phone battery never charges.....even when plugged in it constantly sinks to nothing. even when i charged it turned off for 6 hours, it never gets past 15% HELP! i have tried to rewipe the battery stats, but i only get past draining the battery, because now it wont fully charge. i even bought an extended battery which also drains, but never charges! i am not sure what to do to get battery stats up to par, or to cause this phone to charge any battery! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! (much appreciated)
im a noob here so i really dont know what im talking about but i had almost the same problem when i bought my extended battery from sprint. first day of use was really good and when i went to charge the next time as soon as i unplugged the charger after a full charge the % would drop soo much...i was getting like 10 hrs which isnt much with an extended battery. i updated to mikg 2.53 and wiped the cache and all the usual and the battery stats and its seem to workin now 1d 4h 54m on battery....hopefully this helps
Use an external wall charger or a different phone to fully charge the battery. Then insert the battery and immediately wipe battery stats.
Should fix the problem.
Using an sbc kernel will allow you to fully charge the battery as well. Use something like Battery Monitor Widget to keep an eye on your charge - 4200mv is fully charged.

It almost sounds like a problem with the phone. I wipe battery stats everytime I flash a new Rom and I've never had problems. You might want to see if the battery will charge on someone else's phone first.

I bought a new battery today, a Chinese knock-off battery which claims to have a capacity over 2000. I live in Mongolia, so that's basically my only option if I want a replacement battery, since there's basically no postal system here.
When I first put in the battery, it showed a 59% charge. After a few minutes and maybe a reboot, it showed a 20% charge. It consistently drained down to zero, and I'm charging it now.
I've experienced really strange battery drain with the former battery (also a Chinese knock-off) where it loses maybe 10 percent an hour on idle, so I figured the battery needs to be replaced. Is there anything I can do to calibrate it? I have a feeling that the charge is actually more than is being shown, but no way to confirm my suspicions. Am I right just to try to charge it to 100% and discharge it to 0% until the battery life gets better, or is there something else to do? I should mention I've tried resetting the battery stats in CWM with no real effect.
Thanks from Mongolia.
Go into recovery when battery is at 100% and go to advanced then clear battery stats or download battery config for rooted devices and clear battery stats that way.

Clearing battery stats achieves nothing other than deleting the stats on the what has been using battery power. Battery calibration isn't required on our phones.

if you want to increase battery life for your new battery, charge it fully to 100% whenever you charge it will increase charge storing capacity of the battery

Never, ever I repeat never let your battery drop below around 5%, and always charge it before it reaches zero. I use the Guage Battery widget v3 pro as it is very accurate, but you can also get the free version. You can & should use the free battery calibration tool from the Google play store, simply install it & charge the battery to 100% then run the calibration App. simples

So, my phone's battery life is overall quite poor for the most part. some days it absolutely burns through my battery with little phone use, and other days it gets decent battery. i downloaded better battery stats, and for example. today my phone drained at about 10%/hour, but yesterday for example it drained at about 3%/hour. And today i did not even use my phone that much. Please help, as this is getting really annoying.
Here are some screenshots of my battery stats on two bad battery days

I know it looks like dolphin burned alot of battery, but that it just because it was practically the only application i opened and i used it for a couple minutes which i normally wouldn't do. then i few hours later, this was where my batter was at, and i swear i pretty much did not even touch my phone at all! http://imgur.com/NIfYnkl

Yeah I noticed something interesting as well. I have two batteries for my GS3, one is the stock battery that came with the phone and the other is a 4200 mAh battery from Hyperion Electronics. I decided to test each battery by charging each to 100% on different nights and not touching the phone overnight to see what my battery drain was
Night 1, I tested the stock battery and over night I went from 100% to 40% in a span of about 8 hours. That's a 60% decrease.
Night 2, I tested the Hyperion battery and over night I went from 100% to 98%. A total of 2% decrease in the same span of time.
Now yes I understand that the Hyperion battery is essentially 2x the battery capacity as stock, but just by simple ratios you'd think that since the stock was a 60% decrease that the Hyperion battery would be a 30% decrease, but it's not. The Hyperion battery is literally 1/30th of a drain than was the stock battery.
Something's wrong here and I wish someone could give a straight answer as to why these two batteries are demonstrating dramatically different results.
Over the course of months of flashing, I have noticed that my battery life drains really fast. I'm currently running AOKP. I think I calibrated the battery correctly yet I still have terrible battery life. I charged it to 100%, used an app, Battery Calibration, to reset the battery stats, let it drain to 0%, the plugged it back in. The battery said 57% so I charged it back to 100% yet the battery life is still awful. My brightness is at the lowest setting, my WiFi is off, and I am using Greenify to hibernate applications. I've attached pictures of my battery life (from GSam) and pictures of what my software looks like. What is causing the drain? How can I fix it? If anybody can help, I'd be very thankful.
Edit: I have a Hyperion 4200 mAh battery. I replaced the stock battery but it didn't seem to make a difference. The voltage reads at about ~4200 mAh when at 98%.
Edit 2: My battery was at ~60% then I shut it off and plugged it in. It is now at 2%... Should I charge to 100% then reset battery stats?
