I am Argentine and practically do not speak English, so I will use the translator and it will not be the most accurate.
I am one of the people who change the ROOM of my cell phone every week and until nothing, 1 month I almost get the "Error 7 updater" in TWRP when installing any ROOM AOSP, but in ROOMS xiaomi does not happen, I have seen videos on which said that I had to modify a text inside the room and others, which works and removes the error but at the time of using the device it does not work for me:
The flashlight, the camera, does not recognize the PC, has no audio and so on.
I can not find any way out of that error, and I'm a fan of pixel experience, I went back to Miui because I wanted to use the gestures they had a few days since I missed them when I had the buttons on the screen, but when I wanted to reinstall the pixel experience came out that error, and with any other room that is not MIUI, please the one that can help me I thank you :good:
You need to flash official twrp recovery. download recovery from https://dl.twrp.me/whyred/ and place it in you internal storage or sdcard et cetra and flash from your current recovery. I hope this will solve your problem.
But remember that the link i mentioned above is only for whyred (Note 5 Pro)
thanks your answer, but that does not solve the problem, in fact I already have installed the twrp 3.3.0.0

Were you on MIUI pie beta before trying the flashing?
PE is based on Oreo firmware, if you flash it when you have Pie firmware, error 7 will come up.

Hi,
I'm using the following version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T (willow):
- Model number: Redmi Note 8T
- Android version: 9 PKQ1.190616.001
- MIUI version: MIUI Global 10.3.1 | Stable 10.3.1.0(PCXEUVF)
- Model name: M1908C3XG
So it's still the official MIUI 10 stock ROM,
the only thing I've changed is that I switched from stock to custom recovery TWRP (https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredminote8.html) and installed a GCam mod (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-8/themes/best-gcam-mod-redmi-note-8-t3970675).
If I press the button to check for OTA updates within MIUI it still says no updates available.
However, according to this thread it's possible to download and flash the update to MIUI 11 manually:
https://www.xda-developers.com/download-miui-11-xiaomi-redmi-note-7-pro-poco-f1/
1.) Is my understanding correct that based on my current MIUI 10 ROM,
I have to download and flash the "V11.0.1.0.PCXMIXM (Global)" one from those versions mentioned below?:
43. Redmi Note 8T (willow):
- V11.0.2.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.1.0.PCXMIXM (Global) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
- V11.0.1.0.PCXRUXM (Russia) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
2.) Is my understanding correct that this MIUI 11 ROM could be flashed without loosing the existing data (apps, pictures,...)?
If yes, what would whould be the best approach (via "Recovery ROM" or "Fastboot ROM" method),
and what do I have to select in TWRP for example so that my data doesn't get wiped during the flash?
3.) Once I've flashed this MIUI 11 ROM will it get regular updates via OTA,
or is it a kind of beta version?
Thanks and best regards

judging by the present miui version in your device it's PCXEUVF so you have a european version. You can download the latest recovery rom from here. MIUI 11 EU version will be PCXEUXM. You can flash this rom from twrp. But looking at your post seems like you haven't flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot), you might end up with stock recovery which is a good thing. If you end up with stock recovery then you can just put this recovery rom in a folder named "downloaded_rom" (without quotes) in internal storage and update with updater app and your data won't be lost.
In case you want to flash some other version rom like global(PCXMIXM) or russian(PCXRUXM) then you have to download fastboot rom and mi flash from here and flash it with mi flash which will erase your data so make sure you backup your data before flashing.
Hi,
thank you very much for your reply!
Okay, so as it seems like I'm having a EU version,
based on my understanding I have to select the following MIUI 11 ROM, right?:
V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM (Europe) Download Recovery ROM Download Fastboot ROM
Most likely I've already flashed something like "dm-verity" zip ("flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot'),
because I've restarted the Redmi Note 8T several times and TWRP recovery is still available.
So what do I have to select within TWRP to flash this MIUI 11 ROM without loosing the existing data (apps, pictures,...)?
Thanks and best regards

Yes you have to select the miui 11 rom PCEUXM recovery rom if yo want to flash with twrp.
Now comes the part where you have to consider a few things.
So dm-verity and forceencrypt are different things. Sometimes both features are included in a single zip file. So if your device is decrypted you'll have to go through a lot of troubles. Search for encryption in Phone settings search bar and check if your device is encrypted or not. If your device is encrypted just flash the rom through twrp and everything will work just fine.
However if your device is decrypted then you'll face bootloop into twrp every time you dirty flash/update miui stock. To solve this do any of the following :
1. Flash stock rom though twrp as you do but after that you need to format data or else your phone won't boot.[but all your data will be lost so back it up first]
2. Flash stock mi recovery and then update through updater app.
3. Flash another recovery like orangefox which provides ability to flash miui OTA without any issues. Here's a guide for you how to flash miui using orangefox.
Hope it helps.

Hi,
thank you very much for your reply!
Okay, I've ensured that my Redmi Note 8T shows the status encrypted within the settings first.
Then I've downloaded the "V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM" ROM from the link mentioned below (http://c.mi.com/in/miuidownload/detail?device=1900375).
I then tried to boot into TWRP recovery, but Redmi-Recovery 3.0 appeared instead.
So it seems like I haven't installed the fix which avoids TWRP recovery to be replaced by the default recovery after a reboot.
So I've just rebooted into MIUI and flashed the downloaded ZIP file of the "V11.0.3.0.PCXEUXM" ROM like decribed below:
"But looking at your post seems like you haven't flashed disable dm-verity zip(a zip which prevents stock recovery from coming back after every reboot), you might end up with stock recovery which is a good thing. If you end up with stock recovery then you can just put this recovery rom in a folder named "downloaded_rom" (without quotes) in internal storage and update with updater app and your data won't be lost."
However, initially this was not working so I had to do the following additional steps (https://www.gizchina.com/2019/10/23/how-to-download-and-install-miui-11-if-it-has-not-yet-arrived/):
"Then, we go again to the ‘About this phone’ section.
And in ‘System update’ we press a few times on the logo until a small temporary warning appears.
Then, click on the three-point menu and choose ‘Select update package’.
We look for the ‘Downloaded_rom’ folder and select the ROM that we have previously downloaded."
(Note: I had to re-install the app Mi File Manager first in order for this to work!).
However, I'm getting the following error message:
"Couldn't verify.
Looks like current ROM's network carrier type is different from that in the Recovery package.
Please download the correct ROM from MIUI forum."
I did a quick research and it seems like my Redmi Note 8T device contains a strange Vodafone branded ROM ("VF" = Vodafone ):
- Anyone with the Vodafone Custom ROM still getting updates ? (REDMI NOTE 8T) [10.3.0.1/PCXEUVF] - Xiaomi:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/com...one_custom_rom_still_getting/?sort=confidence
- Redmi Note 8T w NFC - Redmi Note 8/Pro/8T - Mi Community - Xiaomi:
https://c.mi.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=2576031&aid=4944161&from=album&page=1
If I remember correctly I was also wondering why it contains a pre-installed Vodafone app when uninstalling apps/de-bloating the ROM.
Thanks and best regards

Did some searching and found out that you have a vodafone rom that's why there's VF in the end and not XM. I suggest you to switch to XM one using fastboot method via mi flash. After that you'll receive updates as soon as they're released by xiaomi.

Hello,
i have version 11.0.2.0 Global on the device with twrp, magisk and edXposed.
Now I have seen that there is already a global version 11.0.6.0.
In my case, how can I update to a new version without losing the data and settings?
And one more question in general. Version 11.0.6.0 is not shown to me via OTA. Here it says, latest stable version 11.0.2.0. Is it not rolled out via OTA?
And if there was a newer version available via OTA, could I install the update despite TWRP?

One thing you forgot to mention is what region is your phone (not your Rom). If Chinese you may have to be extra cautious and steps above might not work for you.

Interesting. I'm still on rooted miui 10 4.5.0 PGGEUXM rooted magisk and twrp recovery-红米Note8Pro-3.3.1-9.0.img
I didn't update yet as bricking started to happen and I can't miss my phone as a daily driver.
Normally I would flash the full ROM, flash magisk, wipe cache and reboot.
So flashing full ROM doesn't break root?
Can't we flash recovery by twrp after flashing ROM instead by flashing by fastboot?
Isnt secure flash twrp after the ROM.

Flashing a full rom will break root, and install stock recovery...
It is too risky to flash another recovery with twrp (possible brick)
so where to put official update on sd card?

I just brought rmn8p with miui 11.0.6.0 ,so it is ok to use LRTWRP-3.3.1 -0924. I came across a new version -1104, I'll try it after unlock the bootloader. After that flash preloader then trwp.
Use LR.TWRP, it got an option to make the TWRP persist on every OTA.
Also LR.TWRP = less headache on Xiaomi devices.

Guys I Just see This video and in it shows the update process, with ltwrp, when the recovery capture the process and update even without losing data, its This True?, somebody has tried?
Link.
This will brick every phone. I brick my EU ROM, with this method of update rooted phone.
What is correct solution to update rooted phone?
Redmi Note 8 Pro, 11.0.2 QGGEUXM, TWRP 3.3.1 1210, Magisk 20.3 -> 12.0.1 QGGEUXM
System say there exists update, i choose download, select reboot, but after reboot i end up in TWRP but nothing happened. After exit i boot to old 11.0.2 system with message that update fail.
Edit 1: after 2. download/update/reboot TWRP start installing image ...
Edit 2: after automatic update system say 12.0.1, just loosing root (all apps stay)
Edit 3: installed TWRP again, Magisk (there was little problem because Magisk Manager say "not installed", but after some googlig i fix that. So i update system without reinstalling apps or loosing data.
Clear solution is probably download full rom from official Mi website and flash selected rom with TWRP (flash TWRP recovery again, repeat root process, to get root back). See next post.

This is how I upgraded, try at your own risk.
Download full recovery zip of MIUI 12 and latest magisk
Create twrp Backup just in case
In LR TWRP 10 mount & format system, cache, dalvik, vendor.
Flash full rom (not ota!)
Press home to return to the main screen Choose Advanced-File Manager item >system_root / system / folder at the bottom if there is a recovery_fromboot.p file delete it.
Go back to Advanced and select Close AVB2.0 and confirm with a swipe to the right.
flash Magisk
boot to system
First boot takes a while, relax and grab a drink
Remember to backup and close AVB!
Thank you so much for sharing these steps. I have questions for a couple of steps below:

What is TWRP 10? Do I format first and then mount? I usually wipe system, cache, dalvik and then "install" the full rom (your next step), but i never try "mount" here. What does mount do here? what is wiping vender and mounting vender?

There are two check box here. one is "close the boot verification of avb2.0" the other is "close the DMVerity of avb2.0". Do O check one of both?
Thank you!

It work beautifully, everything seems to work perfectly, and this new build looks amazing even better than before. Although a little laggy on start up i'm guessing is cause of the super wallpaper. Thanks a bunch,
Found some bugs. connecting the charger while the phone is sleeping glitches the lockscreen and re sets the wallpaper to the homescreen one. after a few seconds it shows the lockscreen wallpaper. flashing magisk or disabling preloaded apps makes the next restart take longer than normal, had to clear caches on twrp, but still took forever to boot up. Charging animation not present. device not certified on playstore. none of these are deal breakers so i don't mind waiting whatever time until they get fixed. i'm keeping this rom cause i love it.
Reboots in fastboot
Hello, my phone always reboots in fastboot mode even after flashing stockboot, I have tried several times and still stuck under fastboot on startup!
Do you have another solution for me?
HELP !!
i've tried all the methodes to install this ROM and not single one works
Method 1:
1- install MIUI 11.0.10 EU Official Firmware using flashtool
2- install TWRP
3- install This ROM after cleaning data and reboot (stuck on fastboot screen)
4- reboot again to TWRP then flashed Stockboot and reboot (stuck on redmi bootloop)
Method 2:
1- Install MIUI 12 Indian Version
2- install this ROM
3- flash stockboot (stuck on redmi bootloop)
Method 3:
1- Flash MIUI 11.0.10
2- wipe data
3- install this ROM
4- install stockboot
stuck on redmi Bootloop screen again
Method 4:
1- Flash This ROM
2- Flash vendor FW 11.0.10
3- Reboot (Stuck on Fastboot Screen)
I Even tried to flash dtbo.img separately and boot.img separately and i found out that the problem in Boot.img file
my best guess is mismatching of boot.img with the version of the ROM
and now im on stock indian miui 12 again
Please Help me installing this wonderful ROM im Just Tired of STOCK FW ones !!!!
First flash the rom from here : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=10763459528675565205
Flash vendor : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=8889791610682941126
flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt.zip
FORMAT DATA - not wipe! ( Make sure that you have back uped the necassery file as this will format you internal storage
reboot

Hello.
How to flash manually new available zip OTA firmware update ?
I have 12.5.1.0 RHKEUXM
And now is available new version 12.5.3.0 RKHEUXM (zip file)
How do I flash manually a new OTA zip version with a size of about 355MB via twrp recovery or another way ?
I tried it, but in twrp recovery I got an error with some A / B partition switching.
(Screenshot in next post)
Simplified: How to install the update when I have TWRP recoveryrecovrecovery and Magisk Root?
Can you please help? Thank you.
You cannot update with TWRP unless the twrp supports it.
It would say MIUI OTA support where you downloaded it.
So how do I install it? I have the OTA update downloaded in the downloads in the repository.
So how do I install the OTA update?
When I install the zip via twrp recovery, this pops up:
No one can advise? Please.
You don't.
OTA is automatically installed by the system

see here if you don't have the option to select update manually, tap on the miui 12 icon in 'about' several times to enable more options (going from memory, so can't be sure, but i think that's right)
I selected the downloaded zip manually and started updating.
MIUI update failed!
Where is the problem?
I note that I have TWRP recovery, Magisk root, unlocked bootloader.

That only works with stock recovery.
Try installing the stock recovery by manually flashing the recovery.img from the fastboot rom of the miui version you are currently running.
After downloading the fastboot ROM current to your muui version extract it and flash recovery.img
Then do the OTA update.
Then reflash twrp.
Thank you. And any procedure and links to download and install stock recovery?
Um just download your stock rom?
Same place where you manually downloaded the ota, there would be a fastboot recovery ROM too.

Do you mean zip rom?
If u wanna use TWRP, u have to download recovery ROM for 12.5.3.0 (the one over 2,9 Gb), not the OTA (incremental) one.

Do you mean the whole ROM with a size of about 3 GB zip file?
And after the flash, will I be left with the system and application settings as before the flash of this new ROM version?
Or will I have to set everything again?
Ur settings and apps will be kept....after flash rom, just delete dalvick and reboot to system. if u have magisk, u'll have to flash it again....most probably

Okay. So what do you think is easier? Flash the whole ROM via TWRP recovery, or back to stock recovery and flash only OTA update zip (355 MB) manually and back flash TWRP recovery?
If u have TWRP flashed, my way is easier in my opinion....but is ur choice after all.

Yes this method works.
Flashing it would upgrade it.
Problem with MIUI OTA the zip is encrypted so. Only some forks of TWRP like pitch black, orangefox etc have MIUI OTA support.
