Hi, I looked all over and cannot find a guide for rooting the US version of this phone. I've already killed it once using the Chinese guide (I got it from Hong Kong an assumed is was the Chinese version).
I don't want a custom recovery, just root. I'm not a new to rooting, just out of practice, I've been using Nexus devices and have grown used to its ease of rooting. I have also seen a lot of people brick there device on here and other forums and would obviously like to avoid that hastle
Thanks in advance.

I was only able to root the device by using a custom recovery via fastboot first: https://twrp.me/devices/letvle1pro.html. Then I installed SuperSU via TWRP.
Thanks mate, I was thinking that was my only option. Can I ask which versions of Twrp and SU you used? Should I just use the newest stable releases?

For TWRP I use the 3.0.2 from the web site I posted. For SuperSU I use v2.74. I think it was a beta version that I have installed, but it worked before also with 2.65 stable.

I can't find Android Auto on the playstore on my phone, and when I go to the playstore from my PC it tells me that "This app is incompatible with all of your devices."
Is it really incompatible, or maybe this is because Android Auto is not yet available in my country?

As far as I can tell the only requirements for the app itself is android lollipop and above so it probably is geo restricted
Since I don't have your device anymore I can't check
I have included the app in the attachment below though for you to install yourself
It is compatible, I am using it and installed it from play store. Maybe clear the Play store cache? AS pointed out you can also just install the apk (also from apkmirror)
Thanks. Are you using it with the G5 or the G5 Plus?
What is strange is that it is telling me that it is incompatible with my device, and not that it is not available in my country, as it happens with some other apps.
Is it is safe to install it with an .apk, and would I receive updates if I do it that way?

The apk I posted was downloaded by myself from the playstore so totally safe
You would only get updates if It is available in your playstore & even then you may have to uninstall & reinstall depending on app signatures if different in different locations

Thanks. If I can get confirmation that it should work with the moto g5 (not the plus) then I will try it out.
Any reason why Google would have country restrictions on Android Auto? The cars are the same, the apps (maps, music etc) work fine, so why place restrictions on Android Auto? Apple doesn't seem to have any such restriction with Car Play (in my country at least)

Why do you need confirmation to try it? Just try it - it will either install or say app not installed
Like I said the only min requirements is lollipop so no reason why the app won't install
Some apps maybe geo restricted for licensing purposes - if Googling why the app isn't available in your country doesn't come up with anything the only thing you can do is contact the app developer

Lol by all means scan it - decompile it & check it
If you know my reputation around here you know I provide support
I used to be a recognised contributor but left xda for a while
Also I provided the official twrp for this device
So looking through my past posts/threads you will see the kind of support I provide
Of course, I mean you work on twrp for g5 and yet someone still manages to be suspicious
I am not suspicious I just want to know if it actually works! If this is not a country thing, maybe they marked this phone as incompatible for a good reason. I don't yet have a car with Android Auto so I can't fully test it now. Maybe it would run on the phone itself, but then fail to connect to the car (I've seen reports of this happening for several phones including different versions of the Moto G). Or maybe there is some other kind of bug that only shows up once connected to a car...

The only person that can answer your question would be the app developer
Would be quicker & easier to test yourself as the chance of someone with a moto g5 & the car you might have with android auto support would be highly unlikely
In these situations it's always better to just try yourself or contact the app developer for support
I installed the apk that TheFixItMan has provided and it works fine, on both the phone and a car I tried it with for a few minutes. Thanks!
As it was said previously I can't update Android auto from the play store now, so I assume at some point it might stop working properly. Should I just get a new apk every time I need an update?

As long as it's just the version that is on the playstore (unmodified) like I provided you can just update it without having to uninstall previous version

How come that these devices are still Uncertified on Google Play Store?
These devices are getting third or forth iteration of ROM but they are still Store Uncertified, how is this possible?!
Will Xiaomi ever get certification for these devices or things are stay forever like this, no certification and that's it?!
I mean, this is not life important to me but it's strange, at least from my point of view.
Thank You in advance on reading and possible answer!

Uncertified, here. RN5P.
Sent from my Redmi Note 5 using Tapatalk
Certified here. From where did you bought this mobile ? Is it official or imported. If it is imported then blame seller

I didn't flashed custom ROM, i don't have any kind of mods, i didn't make unroot or anything like that, that's first!
Second, yes I have unlocked bootloader but this was necessity because phone i have bought was came with Chinese ROM.
I bought this phone on Honorbuy store, so I hope that this seller is enough respected and legit?!
Now, if this Google Play Store uncertification is caused by unlocked bootloader than this is easily solved
And finally, if this is community in which man can't ask something like this and to be immediately crucified, than it's something very wrong here! I didn't ask how to plug in USB 2 cable in USB 3 port or some stupidity like this, i have ask legitimate question which is more complicated and OS related so this is little more complicated and cause can be this or that...
And yes, i don't blame Xiaomi, namely I was hoping that before blaming Xiaomi man must search for all possible solutions and if then error is present, then it's time to blame xiaomi or anyone in line.
Thank You all who have find time and will to clarify this "problem i have!

Some Xiaomi phones have a vendor rom, typically purchased from chinese websites to bypass the playstore ban in China. They will show up as uncertified I think. Or if you experiment with the beta rom, these are also uncertified.

OK. Great! Excellent! Super duper!
Is it possible to go with fastboot version of Global ROM, and use flash_all_lock.sh to achieve device store certification?
Thank's!
@Jehonan This is most likely due to the fingerprint line in build.prop, i experienced the same issue when i flashed the latest MIUI 10 and i fixed it by modifying that line, please try to attach build.prop and i will have a look!

Hello All,
It has been a while since I have been around the XDA forums, needless to say I needed a new user! haha. I used to run custom ROMs on older Samsung devices, but got out of the game when I could never pass safetynet. Needless to say, I have now stepped into the world of OnePlus, and so far I am impressed! I managed to snag a 9 Pro for a good price, but it is the Chinese version (Needed dual-SIM), meaning it came with Color OS.
I have already managed to "Downgrade" the Color OS to Oxygen OS using another thread here. Worked flawlessly other then the IEMI...It's currently on 11.2.2.2DA.
Is there anyone that has managed to swap from 11.2.2.2DA to BA? I don't really want to root at this moment (maybe ill get into that at a later date)
I do have an OTA file for 11.2.2.2BA but when I use the local update, it just says it can't upgrade to a lower version.
Any ideas?

You have to wait for the next version.
excute this command and you can install the BA vesion package on DA 11.2.2.2
Q: How do I switch to Europe or Global OS?
A: Wait for the new version, download the #Full package and Local Update it. If you have Magisk installed, you can try to Local Update after entering the following command (need ROOT access).
resetprop ro.build.date.utc 1400000000
resetprop ro.system.build.date.utc 1400000000
Wait for coloros to oxygenos step
Thanks for the quick replies,
It appears everything ColorOS wise always points towards the Indian Edition. Not that it isn't stable or anything, I think the UK Version covers more radio bands which may work better here in NA. I was under the impression once I am on OOS, I am no longer tied to anything COS...
I see that 11.2.3 is available as an OTA update, but I don't see any links yet. My history with rooting and roms was that I could always change to the same version or higher, just never lower. I'm doing this in my case, but maybe that is changed with Oneplus where it wants to see higher only.
I will just wait till a link for 11.2.3 is available from OTA and go from there!
Thanks.
Hello all,
As the 11.2.3.3 OTA update came out for BA today, I tried to perform a local update to get it to BA.
Looks like everything went great. IEMI is still broken due to the COS to OS swap, but it isn't really concerning to me at the moment. I have backups of the original so I should be good.
Just posting to let anyone who reads know!

Hi, I have an OP9 Pro China version with Color OS and I also want to flash it to Oxygen OS. The Color OS version of my OP9 Pro was upgraded to A.04 version. Please advise if I can flash my phone to 11.2.2.2DA. I am not sure if 11.2.2.2DA is the higher version or not (compared with Color OS A.04). Please also advise if you followed the instructions from the post on OP Chinese forum to flash your 9 pro to 11.2.2.2DA, then use the same method to flash it to 11.2.2.3BA. Have you tried to flash your 9 pro to the AA global version? Sorry for so many questions. I haven't flash ROM since OP3T and I forget how it works. Thanks.

I basically followed this guide on getting COS to OOS. https://www.oneplusbbs.com/thread-5895784-1.html. I believe I was on version A.03 when I did the update, but I could have been on A.04. It was as easy as downloading the right firmware and applying it via a local update. It brought me right to 11.2.2.2DA. *This does seem to break IEMI*
I then used the 11.2.2.3BA version downloaded right from XDA, and applied it via a local update.
I have not gone to global as I need dual SIM. So I can't help you there....

Thanks for your detailed reply. Will try soon.
I am currently on HD1905_11_F.20 (Android 12) and still having the network data issues.
Does anyone know if I can use one of One Plus's rollback packages to downgrade (there isn't one provided for the HD1905). If so, global variant I assume?
I am unable to use the MSM tool to downgrade because I don't have a window's PC with admin permission.
If that's not an option, can I go from my current build to a custom ROM to fix the data issues? I'd prefer Pixel Experience as banking, netflix, and camera seemed to work well for me with little effort in the past. I know with PE the networks issues would continue previously; they still have it was one of the install notes but was hoping this might have been fixed.
Any other options? I just want a working phone.
