Message "SIM-card is changed. Reload the phone". - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Hi, everyone. My friend bought Galaxy S9+. And when he inserted sim-card he got next message on the screen: "SIM-card is changed. Reload the phone". After reloading the message remains. We tried my sim-card, and result is the same. Nevertheless, the phone can receive calls. But this message is a pop-up and it makes impossible to work with desktop. I surfed through internet but it seems noone has such a problem. WTF? What a unique error? Is there any solution? Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem with my s9+ in Slovakia.

Usually related to a csc issue. I don't quite know the exacts on a so yet. But the device is not recognizing your sim cards carrier. So to speak. The message means it wants to reboot and apply your carriers settings. And of you carriers csc is not in the device it cannot apply them hence the message over and over after every reboot.

100% agree. If the CSC issue persists, then youll need a PC, the firmware (available on sammobile.com) and a program called Odin. Let us know if the issue persists and we can guide you thru the Odin process if youre unfamiliar. Its actually pretty slick and easy.

I have not. If it's something i shouldn't atempt that's alright. I'm not sure how to gauge my experience, is n00b still a thing? I might be around there, maybe slightly skilled n00b...

[Q] S8500 freezes

Hello!
A few weeks ago, my wave started to do crazy things.
The camera didn't work and it freezed when trying to make a call.
I decided to flash the latest firmware (XXJL2 full) via MultiLoader.
This solved the camera problem but not the freeze problem:
If i dial a number and press call, the phone freezes for about a minute.
Then it makes the call like normal and after the call it freezes for another minute.
For incoming calls, it freezes for a minute and then rings, even when the caller already hanged up.
Did anybody have this problem before?
~ghertgh
BTW sorry for my poor english.
Hi,
I have seen similar strangeness with my Wave I (permanent reboots) after updating to 1.2.
On german telefon-treff, some users claim that a master reset fixes the problem...
Oh I forgot to say:
I already did some master resets, I downloaded the firmware from another source and reinstalled it, didn't help.
I'll try to flash an older firmware now..
Hello
Didn't You dropped your wav in to the water? if not, try the service, this is very odd problem, mostly because you did master and flash.
Older firmware doesn't work too.
So i think it's hardware-related.
Nope, didn't drop it into the water or something like that.
My problem with the service is that the phone is unlocked, so I think my warranty is void.
if u think your problem is hardware related try and flash back to the original firmware which u got with your phone or the latest firmware for your region. after that the service centre should not detect that you have flashed your firmware and you will still get it covered under warranty. or do you mean that your phone was locked when you bought it and that you unlocked it?
exactly. I removed the SIM lock because I traveled to Germany for some weeks and wanted to use a prepaid card.
I removed the SIM lock...

I don't know how it was unlocked because it was unlocked by a phone shop.
I'll just send it to the nearest Samsung Service Partner, let's see what happens.

Will not register to network

hello ladies and gents I bought a note 3 yesterday from some dude thinking I could fix it and get a note 3 on the cheap. I was wrong the problem is hard to fix.
1 It will not register to network
it is not blacklisted or network blocked.
Ive read somewhere that after you register to many different sims it wont allow it to connect to network anymore.
what can I do I wonder as a last ditch effort if I replace the motherboard if that will work any suggestions please?

Have you tried updating the firmware? check the APN on the phone once you insert the sim.
You could try taking it to a T-Mobile store to see if they can get it to register. Sometimes they can activate it when you can't.

It feels like it might be hardware related but I have no idea how to fix that. some piece that deals only with registering on networks.

Well, that's interesting.
If you go to settings, mobile networks, and search for networks, can you select the network and have it register?
Also double check the apn settings. I borked my hidden apn settings once and couldn't get back on the network until i wiped and reflashed full stock.
If none of that works, try also resetting the nv. Look for my thread on 900t service mode for instructions.
Sent from my leanKernel 3.16 powered stock 4.4.2 SM-N900T
I've already rebuilt the nv build. It's a family mobile sim(tmobile)
Also the apn settings I can try that again haven't changed them since I did a flashed back to stock. I doubt it will change anything usually you can still register.
oh the sim doesn't even have service anymore anyhow. Yesterday was the last day but I don't think that would change being able to register anyway.
Notice that it turns off mobile data when I try to register it may be a clue but I haven't been able to make anything of it.

Stock S6 Edge ODIN flashable firmware?

Does anyone have a stock firmware of their S6 Edge T-Moible? that's ODIN flashable. I bricked my S6 trying to root it and had the KNOX security on. Now it just boot loop.

Did you try and flash the S6 file (non-edge file) to root your phone? For many that corrects what looks to be a bricked phone.
I did the same thing the OP had done, referring to enabling KNOX prior to rooting, and none of anyone's suggestions through the past multiple days have worked. Enabling "KNOX" under the "Security"
settings is a big no-no, or so it seems from the few that have done it. Might be worth somebody making a thread just letting people know NOT to do that if they don't wish for an expensive brick until a stock ODIN tar surfaces. It makes the phone bootloop and useless even when using the regular S6 autoroot tar. It's also interesting how nobody answered the OP's actually question, though. "Is there an actual stock ODIN tar for this phone yet?" I would like to know the same, even though my own research has come up negatory thus far. Focus on the dude's question rather than waste time with other suggestion(s) which they likely already know haven't worked.

Thank you all for this. I would also like to know if this deletes all the user data/apps/contacts as well? I'm trying to restore the phone to stock so I can return it but as others have said with the root performed I am unable to hard reset/restore to factory so I am looking for a work around. Thanks in advance.
Yes, it deletes all user data, but the phone will have root.

So when rooting a T-Mo Edge first time, we should use the std S6 (SM-G920T) autoroot file, and not the file listed for the edge?

I want to thank you for at least getting me back to a recovery mode screen that is readable and starts with the normal icon, that says updating system. I still need to wait for the stock SM-G925T firmware file for the S6 Edge to get back to a working phone. Deleting knox files as I stated in a few threads here is a big no no for now. Just get that bootloop on startup and this has nothing to do with rooting. Is the deleted files. Samsung support confirmed this too. I did try the factory reset which basically wiped the phone of info, which is no big deal. Plenty of backups. Just need the darn tar file for this model. I'm sure it will be out soon.
BTW, I was having issues getting on to any web link site Sammobile.

I want to publically thank you for your superb and timely help. What's funny is I'm on a MAC desktop and the Kies Mac version would not connect to my phone even though I have the drivers already on the computer. I use Parallels to boot to a Windows 8 virtual setup. Kies gave me the unsupported device message I think, but after going to the tools menu and following the instructions on the video, all went well. The only nit pick is I believe the Kies program called it the recovery mode to boot into, but they used the correct button combo to actually be in download mode for this to work.
Anyways....much thanks and for all those waiting for stock firmware for the Edge to magically appear, which I'm sure it will eventually, this method works. Word of advice to all.....go into your settings and about device and write down your serial number since it's required when inputting the model number. TMobile and Samsung incorrectly kept telling me the serial number is the same as the IME. IT'S NOT. And that number is NOT on the box labeling either. So without the serial number of your device KIES won't work for this firmware restore. A simple thank you to the person that know, for helping me with that aspect.

Thank you for this, and thank you for letting others know about the correct serial number used.
For anyone in the same situation, you CAN borrow a serial number from another device to get the download started just as Docmjldds and I did here. I gave him mine, and the download proceeded as normal. After the phone is flashed, it still retains the correct factory serial that came with your phone.

You can also get the serial number from download mode. When you first boot into dl mode and you get the warning page press the home button and the IMEI and SN (serial number) are both there with a bar code.

Great Tip! Thank you for this. I did run into that when I was messing around, but totally forgot about it. Just updated my Video to include this info with a thanks to you.

S4 lte goes off just to receive calls (had same problem on S3)

Have a very weird problem, and think it is because of any app...
I use a galaxy tab s4 lte as a phone, it is a fully functional phone oversized... it is great, and im using tablets as phone 3 or 4 years ago... first was galaxy tab s2 lte, then s3, and now s4
S2 worked great... S3 worked great but from march of this year, randomly phone disconects fron network just to receive calls.... sms, 4g and wifi always work, but canr receive calls till i make a call... it is like it disconnects from network... i notice that, because i have (from the times of s2) my phone forwarding calls to my wife's phone when my phone is turned off or im in a plane for example...
But with tab s3, from march, i was in home with my wife and someone that call me ringed directly to my wife phone... as if my phone was turned off...a lot of times saw that... but when i place a call... it start receiving calls again...
Went to tmobile, changed the sim and same problem...
Bought a new S4 lte ($1000) and from the day 1 same problem...
Any help? Im pretty sure it could be any app... but dont know where to start
Factory reset, then install your apps, one at the time until it happens again. It's long process but unless someone came across it it's the only way to find out which app causes it. Perhaps not the only way. Have you tried to replicate it? Reboot your tablet, then ring it to check if it receives it. If not, you can uninstall one app, reboot, call, uninstall , repeat until you find which app it is. It's likely quicker this way but you need to be able to replicate it.
Most likely is the VoLTE is not set up right. And sounds like fallback to 3G for voice is not happening. Try locking it on to 3G and leave it in standby. Check whether inbound calls are coming through when you are camped on 3G.
It is possible to edit your CSC file to get it working properly. but you'll need to know all the correct fields to change and will require you to root, install custom recovery etc.
I haven't thought about that. Try that first. I mean locking to 3G.

Sounds good... but would hate if this was the problem, dont want to root phone... anyway... s3 was working ok till march... one year worked great! Because of that i think it can be a setting or app... there is any way yo change volte? I have seen something like that in any menu but cant find now
Seeing about volte... i remember on s2, and on s3 im not quiete sure, the hd call icon, related to volte, bit now have not that option in phone app settings
Thanks
I don't think the tabs4 t835n makes calls over lte, only 3g as per the specs on the samsung site. Mine always reverts to 3g when making voice calls. It still sounds great but this is the way it makes or receives calls.
Continuous Talk Time (3G WCDMA) (Hours)
Up to 50
That being said, it would be great to find out if it is capable and since there is root now, take the settings from the note9 and push it to the tabs4 T835n.

I'm not sure it's possible without root access. You could try extracting the correct csc file for s9 and flash it via ODIN.
If you have root access you can peruse your csc file using this app:

Maybe you can ask your carrier to disable VoLTE for your account?
You will be trying at your own risk when you try to flash alternate CSC, remember you can always flash back to original.
You could also try flashing a complete firmware from a different country, check firmware available on Sammobile, search by your model code. TAB s4

When i extracted the CSC from that two firmwares i saw they are differents sizes! T835C is more than double than T835N...
Look at the picture attached...
T835N CSC File
CSC_OMC_KOO_T835NKOO1ARGH_CL13953229_QB19044239_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
47MB
T835C CSC File
CSC_OMC_TGY_T835CTGY1ARH3_CL14074605_QB19357398_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
112MB
What do you think about this? would be safe to flash a file, from other device with double the size...
It is the only thing i can do (talking about flashing other CSC) because on Sammobile there is only one complete firmware for the T835N... is not like other phones that you can choose country... the only country is korea
Thanks in advance....

One question... do i need to root before flashing CSC? or can flash it just as a complete firmware just using CSC slot?
Thanks

I believe if you flash only the HOME_CSC it will preserve your data.
You don't need root
First up though, I would strongly recommend you try to back up your data using Samsung Smartswitch (back up to SD card). And try to back up to Samsung Cloud (not sure if this still is a thing). So you can restore when things go pear shaped
I believe the chances of getting VoLTE working faultlessly on your Korean tab are pretty close to 0. But if that's what you want, I would first try flashing a known working CSC from a device with same android version on YOUR carrier (Note 9 maybe?). This is unlikely to work, I think Samsung has been encrypting CSC files recently. You may need to flash Korean firmware at this point.
Secondly, I'd try flashing an alternate csc_home package from another country. Try the one you've downloaded. If you search T835 on sammobile there are many countries listed. I'd try XSA Australia if the first one doesn't do what you want.
You're on your own my friend.
If all this is getting too hard, just leave your tab locked to 3g in it's current state.

You mean that a Note 9 CSC should work? I mean is better for you i try a Note9 CSC than a T835C one?

Again friend thanks for your help is really helpfull

Difference between SPR and XAS

I need help before I flash the XAS Rom on my SM-G960U. I just want to remove the Sprint Boot and Shutdown Animation. Will the flashing remove the blasted animation?
Version installed on my S9
AP: G960USQS6CSH3
CP: G960USQS6CSH3
CSC: G960UOYN6CSH3

yes it will. Itll also allow you to uninstall apps that sprint says you cant as they are no longer protected by the sprint specific firmware.
Itll just say Samsung on boot and shutdown. No animation. Just samsung. Forever alone. Nothing else. Just samsung. (i hope you like my humor LoL)

its done no more SPRINT and all that jazz. What my problem now is the SPRINT OMADM showing registering the device with the network even if I have signal from my carrier already, any suggestions on how to fix this, it seems like one problem leads to another

are you flashing the CSC or HOME_CSC?
also, please dont refer to firmware sets as ROMs, youll only confuse people. not telling you what to do or sound like a jerk, hard to convey this over text

oh, no worries at all. that is really weird if you used the CSC instead of the HOME_CSC then. How about freezing the app? There are non-root methods for doing that. Not sure if they work on pie as none of them mentioned it
