First Oneplus phone. So far I like it a lot. With past phones, the temperature notifications would be up in the status bar in the corner. With this 7t, I have to pull down twice and then I see the temp notification like it normally would be. Is there a way to make it like it normally would be without having to pull down? Thanks for any help

By temp notifications, I mean by various weather apps, not the actual phone. Lol

I assume you are talking about notifications from some weather app you have installed, because I don't believe the stock weather app offers a notification option.
Anyways, you need to change the notification priority of the app to have it's notification show up in the status bar. Long press the notification -> Set it to important.

My alarm app randomly stopped working earlier. Found fix for the alarm issue that worked at least on my rooted phone. Went into titanium backup (free version), found the app "[ALARMS] clock..." and pressed it. I selected defrost and voila, the clock app was back in the app drawer, for now at least. Don't know why the app froze itself.

You had me excited until I realized this solution requires root... I'm still alarm-less.

Uh no.
Clock App is missing. That means the widget doesn't work as it once did. No app, nothing for the widget to call.
Look at ALL the other posts around the forums from people with same issue.
Even the phone has the clock app grayed out in the all apps list and is listed as 0 bytes. HTC has acknowledged the problem. So it is a biggie indeed. Glad it works for you however, but mine and many others do not.

No need for the attitude, I was unaware it was this type of issue, I thought it was just the app not showing up in the app drawer. Are you not rooted?

Attitude was only in response to your shrugging off my problem as user error. I've been banging my head against the wall with this issue for the last week. Even more infuriating is that I took the time to do a factory reset and that was not a permanent solution.
Anyway, no I am not rootedand I'm not going that direction either as I am a corporate user and need to keep the phone stock.

Well all I can do is laugh then. I didn't take your clock away, I didn't tell you to do a factory reset. Like I said, I mistook it as a different situation. My clock app doesn't show up in GB either, but the app still worked, so actually I was trying to help and you be a ****. So Cheers!

The clock app goes away completely for most. Widget doesn't respond and no app in the drawer. If you go into applications in settings it is grayed out. If you had an alarm set before the app disappearing, it goes off as scheduled repeatedly with no way to access the app to change it.
However using my method stated in op fixes this issue for me at least. It does require root though.

See I just thought it was the literal clock widget missing from the app drawer, but the clock still worked.. cos that's what happened to me in GB, the clock works fine alarms and all but no app in app drawer, only way to access it is by clicking the clock on the home screen weather widget.
did you by chance delete the htclockscreen.apk? this has been known in the past to not be able to turn off the alarm. but I could be way off.

No, just running a rooted version of the stock rom with some bloat removed. The problem with the alarm clock is present in the official ota Rom though. For some reason, the clock app freezes itself and I just unfroze it.

It's preinstalled? It's the green app with an S. Should be in your app drawer if not check your application manager to make sure it's not disabled. Not sure if it even can be honestly.
Thank you, some how it got disabled.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
It comes pre-installed but you have to open it once to have access to the heart rate.
If it was disabled, then this can only happen from the application manager menu.
Pedometer isn't really accurate. You can shake your phone up and down. And it'll registers it as a step. It's still cool though looking at health data through out the day. At work the other day I've walked over 6 miles.

I tested it. Went for a walk, counted close to 500 steps, and the pedometer registered within 20.
It works best in a pocket, not in your hand.

I haven't looked through the app uet, but I know on my S4 I was able to go into the settings for the set counter and set it up for my walking stride. I think it is generic from the get go and bases it off your height. I may take a look around and see if I can find the setting again. I do like using it.
When I used it on my S4 I counted a thousand steps and it was dead on. I was also checking the step counter on my work phone (a Casio Commander if I remember correctly) and it was off quite a few steps.
Anyone know how to remove the pedometer count from my home screen. I enabled it when I first got my phone and now I cant remember how to disable it.

Hrm, I thought that was a widget.. however I can't get a widget that looks like that on my homescreen from touchwiz. I can however get a widget like that to show up when I use apex.
Are you sure it's not a widget? Just long press on it and then drag to the top of the screen and drop on the trashcan icon.
If you are using another launcher.. the process should be similar.

Duh. Wow, I tapped and held it and set it as hidden and now it's gone. I don't recall adding a widget as I don't even use widgets with Smart Launcher. Weird. Thanks though.
I am getting this new icon on notification bar. But it shows nothing when bar is scrolled down. Does anyone know, which icon is this? Why it is shown and how to remove that?

I believe that is the number of windows you have open in your browser not a notification..
It's an interruptions icon. Look in settings, then interruptions...it means your phone is set to "allow only priority interruptions"

No, you can't. The percentage is now displayed next to the battery icon when selected in settings/battery. This is much better.
That's an opinion, but, thanks
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It is an opinion. Nothing more. I say it's better because I can actually read the percentage now.
I wish we could get rid of the battery icon and just use the % text. The icon is worthless.
Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Agree, like my percentage but not icon....
yeah i really wish there was an option to take the battery icon away since i use the text.
i've gotten to the point i just block out that image when i'm looking at it lol

didn't work for me. im on 8.1... that is probably why. thanks though!
What if you press and hold on the notification. Then you get options to hide the notification
That program is specifically for the "some crap is running in the background" notification that you get if you're running something like Signal.
I stopped using the app. Try this:
