Enable Camera2API without rooting NEX 3? - Vivo Nex 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Can anyone assist with enabling Camera2API to install GCam, without rooting my NEX 3?
I've searched around, and there are many different ways to do so. I kinda spent most of my savings to purchase the phone so i don't want to just easily follow steps that could brick my phone.
I'm new to this, and i heard something about unlocking the bootloader to enable Camera2API?
Could anyone help to explain to me and show how?

[Q] Carrier Unlock

I need to carrier unlock my OGP. I have a factory code from ATT. My phone is rooted and running Cyanogenmod 11, which is how I bought it. Now, for the life of me I don't know why anyone would root and flash a rom to a phone prior to unlocking it (for the buck or so that it costs), but thats another story. Anyway, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take this phone back to stock in order to unlock it ( it will not unlock with the cyanogenmod on it). I've read the guides, etc, but nothing works. The phone absolutely will not connect tosh LG Support tool. Im running windows 8, the drivers are installed, the computer recognizes the phone, but the tool does not. None of the guides say if this method (LGST using options/ recovery requires the phone to be in download mode--in fact, nothing is mentioned about that).
I am completely stumped and would sooo appreciate some help. All I want to do is take it back to stock, then unlock it. I will then worry about rooting it and flashing roms again.
Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to help a complete noob. That said, I have read the guides, tried the methods (although I think I may have an outdated link or tool or something) so anyone willing to help, please just don't point me to a link on this forum. I've been there, tried that, etc.

Impossible to unlock bootloader and install TWRP

Hello everybody, I'm new to the forum. I would like to expose you to my problem with the hope that someone can help me and solve it. In May, buying a XIAOMI MI MIX 2, (I am the first ownwr), no brand. After a few days of testing I consider myself quite satisfied with regards to performance except for the photographic sector, so I decide to install the TWRP following the procedure that first obliges to unlock the bootloader to install it, I follow step by step the XIAOMI guide but at a certain point tells me that the number for which I requested the release is associated with another account, I try and try again unnecessarily, all useless. Among other things, I do not know how to disable the account used for registration on the XIAOMI suto. Contact also XIAOMI but nothing, no answer. I need the unlocked phone to be able, tomorrow, to have root permissions and anything else. I thank in advance those who will give me suggestions to come to terms with it.

Should I install a Treble ROM?

Hi all. I got my 7x on Prime Day, and so far, I'm loving the phone. IMO, the EMUI 8.0 interface is fine. But I'm intrigued by the possibility of unlocking and installing a Treble ROM like Lineage. For someone who has dabbled in unlocking, rooting and installing custom ROMs (but is by no means an expert), my question is: is it worth it? Is it very difficult? How high is the probability of something going massively wrong? Are there good, clear, idiot-proof step-by-step instructions out there if starting from factory? And is the upgrade from EMUI really worth the effort? I will appreciate all advice.

it is not exactly "idiot-proof" because idiots will find a way to "f" anything up.
but all mods depend on you being able to unlock bootloader. And honor has decided to stop issuing unlock codes on July 29. So if you think you may want to flash any roms, make sure to get your code now.

Thanks for that. Forgive the ignorance, but do I need to root also to install a Treble ROM? I'm now a DirecTV Now subscriber, and their app will not work on rooted phones, and I've had trouble getting RootCloak to work. Any benefit to unlocking the bootloader, even if I do not flash another ROM?

well I am also direct tv now user. And I have been going back and forth with root and unroot, for serveral testing reasons. I had not tried to use the directv now app while rooted till now, after reading your post.
And can confirm the video play is stopped with error message about not working on rooted device.
Bummer.
No there is no need to root to use custom roms, But that does not mean the app will work though.

Sorry to be the bearer of that bad news. I think what I'll probably do is get the unlock code from Huawei while I still can, and sit on it for future use, maybe in a year once I'm out of warranty. Maybe then there will be an Android P ROM that will be worth the effort to flash. Thanks for the advice.

Can anyone help me to root?

I can't find a tutorial with clear steps to root the device, I haven't rooted a smartphone for a long time and I'm always afraid of damaging it.
I think I have the necessary files, but I have many doubts about the procedure.
If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
Thank you
You can use the software called XiaoMi Tool V2, everything is automatic with it, from unlocking the bootloader to rooting the phone

I would say, please, BE HAPPY WITH THE PHONE, PLEASE DON'T MESS WITH ITS BOOTLOADER! I bricked my phone, now it's not going to fastboot or even recovery. It has MediaTek Auth so that you couldn't even flash stock ROM back to get it working. You need RCSM tool for flashing officially which is not usable by those who don't have credentials. I have been tearing my hair apart trying to fix it myself, to no avail. It seems I have to pay some shady guy some bucks to get the RCSM flashing done. Modding this phone is not worth it. Please, if you want to mess around with your phone, get a Xiaomi Snapdragon phone.
