Odd usb connector issues

Just got my USB adapter for the 10.1, and I have two SanDisk Cruzer flash drives; the first one 2 GB and the other 16 GB. I've formatted them both with Easus partition manager and even through the basic windows format tool.
The 2 GB one works just fine when I connect it to my GT, but I can't get the 16 GB one to recognize for the life of me!
They are both FAT32, so i'm not sure what else to do?
thanks for the help!

[Q] Damaged USB Storage OTG device

I have a 128gb USB stick - pre-formatted as FAT32 - which works fine in any PC. However when plugged into the Note II via OTG cable, it comes up as 'damaged USB storage' & I can't access it.
I have seen reference to a workaround on other devices so that devices can correctly recognise the storage. Has anyone managed to find a fix on the Note II?

Stock 10.1 2014 and USB HDD via OTG

FYI guys our stock Note 10.1 2014s have native support for USB HDDs via On the Go (OTG) cables. However, the drive cannot be NTFS: I tried a couple of different OTG cables, a powered USB hub for powering the HDD, etc, on my NTFS (a 2 TByte Passport) without luck.
I then quick-formatted the Passport to FAT and BAM everything worked perfectly: the USB device was recognized and the native "My Files" app auto-opened to display the contents of the HDD (i.e. an app like "Nexus Media Importer", which I used on my N10, is unnecessary)
Very impressive. I am diggin this tablet more and more...

Hi
The problem is the Kernel of the P605. On my Galaxy S4 i´ve solved the problem with the installation of a "hacker kernel v7 leak". Now it can read an write NTFS devices.
But for the Note i cant find a other kernel yet :crying:
Rooted users should try OTG Helper ... that seems to do the trick for NTFS.
If this is the case I think I will order a OTG cable right now
@Zumajay So basicallyallI have to do is turn my WD Passport into FAT and it will work via OTG?

yes, any massive storage with fat32 format, can be read with this tablet, just remember that fat32 has a file size limit of 4gb

you need the ntfs file system drivers inside the kernel in order to read nfts hdd format
I originally tried all of the NTFS mounting apps and none of them worked. Just formatted my HDD's to exFat then there is no 4gb file limit and all works fine.

Also having root does not help.
The problem is SELinux in Enforcing mode, it blocks all the programs that try to modify System partition by installing, in this case, the NTFS drivers.
Until someone will make a P605 kernel with SELinux in permissive mode, there is no way to manage an NTFS partitioned usb drive.
No more news about samsung note 10 ed. 2014 and solution for ntfs?

Didn't think the P600 can run an external hard drive.
Tried just now with stock rom and Xluco kernel, that one's modded to support NTFS filesystem, but I haven't managed to get any externals to respond to the device.
-plugged in a small pendrive to test, and it reads the device.
-plugged in an external drive and nothing happens
-then installed the USB OTG Helper app, doesn't do anything either, says it didn't found any external to mount.
-rebooted the Note with the hard drive plugged in, nothing happened too.
-possible power supply problem, where the device didn't have enough energy to power an external device?
The guys above probably have the P605 model, the Snapdragon one, and formatted their drive to something other than NTFS, something that I can't afford to do lol. Yeah, the processor can be relevant too, because the Snapdragon Note 4 can detect and use a 512gb SD card (not microSD), whereas the Exynos version is limited to 64gb only, if I remember correctly.

[Q] SDCARD file system damage issue

Hi,
I experienced following problems :
- flashed on my G3 (D855) Lollipop and after reboot, ADATA Premier Micro SDXC 64GB UHS-I got unreadable ... via Recovery software I got some of the data back, but big files were damaged (I thought it was related to Lollipop...)
- I flashed back to Cloudyfa 1.2 (can't live without XPOSED...), and experienced sudden restarts, while after the restart the sdcard was always unreadable... reformat always fixed it (using exFAT)
- so I thought that ADATA Premier Micro SDXC 64GB UHS-I is faulty and I will got it replaced under warranty
- but to be sure I put it into another device and it's working fine there since week !
- so I thought maybe there is some problem on LG G3, I purchased card Samsung Micro SDHC 32GB EVO Class 10 and guess what - again for a week so far running fine, without damage.... both cards are formatted under exFAT, I have tried to format ADATA it in the phone as well as in the computer....also performed quick and full format - no difference. Performing hard core test in the second device where the sdcard ADATA is still running fine - no issues (benchmarks, manually forced reboots etc.)
So what do you thing, where is the problem ? I can't explain it myself...
my phone did the same problem...
I found a solution. Connect you Sd card to you PC and delete the LG Backup... File it should work back

Cannot Connect non-power stick via USB

Hi there.
I've got a ZenFone 2 and wanted to connect USB drive to my device through micro USB. It works fine at phones I had before like Xperia Z or M2 or Samsung s5 etc (and still works) but not with ZenFone 2. It's just not discoverable for it.
Why? Do I need to unlock something in options or download some software?
Is it possible that this device doesn't support this? I thought it is normal Android functionality but why not at ZenFone 2?
Any ideas?
Please see the following: http://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1007467/
Sincerely,
ASUS_USA
Come on, I've got ZOOAD, I guess that it's difference? I thought I buying ZE551ML... is it possible to unlock this option somehow for mine? Some additional software or whatever?

What format is the memory stick?
I use a 64gb exFAT OTG stick with no problems and the zenphone 2 should see FAT32 as default but never tried NTFS.
If you are using NTFS then you might need use a 3rd party app or reformat stick.
my ZenFone can see connected stick, but I have notification in status bar:
"Blank external storage,
No external storage or an unsupported file..."
Stick has fat32 file system and few giga files full visibility at other phones...
About software I have es file manager and root browser.
Oops, my mistake with sticks. One was really NTFS
With FAT32 ZenFone works fine now
No worries, as I said there are a few apps for reading NTFS but most cost money if they work OK. It works with exFAT too and so you can put those 4gb+ size files on whereas you can't on FAT32.
