Can someone confirm, if the wide angle camera is available in apps such as discord (video call) or streamlabs? Thanks.

Not trying to be rude but wouldn't it have saved you time if you would of just downloaded the app yourself and see?

Sorry about that. That makes sense now. Lol. If I get someone to video chat me I'll be more than willing to test it for you.

Wide angle and telephoto lens is available in gcam. But you have to root and install a magisk module for that.
Gcam is not exactly, what I had in mind, but other apps like for streaming and video calls. I don't know why and what its dependant (android itself, its versions or manufacturer's effort) but for example, in LG G5 wide angle was available in discord.
Unfortunately the wide and tele lenses are not available in 3rd party camera apps as far as I know. I tried Open Camera and Footej Camera.

Hello!
I use my phone as a dash cam.
Works pretty good, but all dash cam apps I tried are using the "normal" camera and not the wide angle cam.
But the wide angle cam would be perfect.
How can I switch between the two cameras or does anyone know a dash cam app which uses the wide angle?
Rgds, Martin
EDIT:

Solution found, it should also work with
V20, G5
Install DailyRoads Voyager Pro from PlayStore
After install go to authors homepage
On the right hand side, download APK "Pro version with wide-angle" and install it as update over the Version from PlayStore.
It works for me on the LG G6 (H870)
EDIT2:
I am not the author of this app and I am not related to the author!
I don't think the wide angle is exposed in the camera 2 API. It's unlikely that you will find a third party app that will ever support it.

Whatsapp uses both lenses, so why dashcam app couldn't do iit ?
Good question, looking for the same!
I have asked the developer of the dashcam app I am using.
If I get feedback I will let you know.

Does this need a sim card or internet to work? Curious because I want to run my old g4 with this but obviously its not connected to a mobile network.

You can run this app without any internet/network connections.
There is the possibility to upload videos, but no need.
I have blocked all network connections to this app via firewall.

Fantastic! Thank you
For those coming from Google: Autoguard is another app that uses the wide-angle camera by default.

Works pretty good. The dash cam app starts as soon as bluetooth is connected to car radio.
So you don't have to think about starting that app.
Playing music over bluetooth and using navigation app at the same time works without problems.

On LG-Developers website, there are libraries to use the second back-camera.
I'm using them in my app, they all work.
Is there an app that films 4:3 in full Resolution with the wide angle camera?
Hey guys, i found this APP on Play Store. I've tested this camera app with stock firmware, and the wide-angle camera works very good! It also have the manual control feature and it's totally free and with no ads! Try it yourself!

P.s. : I'm not the developer of this app! If you like this app, leave a good review on Play Store! :highfive:

I'm an android developer and I need to know if this phone is implementing the depth module from the camera 2 api.
Is someone available to install a very simple apk (attached) that lists the camera capabilities and post the screenshot with the output?
It would mean a lot, thanks.

The app just lists the camera functions supported by each camera. you can install on V30 but I already know that it doesn't have depth capability

Well, this is bad news, whats the point of adding a TOF camera if you don't expose it in the api? Only for some portrait adjustments in your own camera app and even those don't work that well according to the reviews.

The p30 has a tof camera on the rear as for the g8 it is on the front so if you think you can improve the rear portrait videos by implmenting the tof data differently you are wrong.

I'm pretty sure the only reason LG cared about the tof cam is for face unlock. It works seamlessly, while everything else here that uses tof are half baked gimmicks.
Does face Id is supported for third party apps authentication?
Took a few videos using this phone at my sons birthday earlier. Very disappointed at the quality. Is there particular settings I should be using when taking videos? Or is there a better app to use? Pictures are good but not brilliant. So maybe my settings are not set correctly. Thanks in advance.

It is an app, actually many apps. Gcam is the Google's Pixel camera port and it works great on Android 8.1 Oreo. Not so much on Pie though, on Pie Xiaomi broke the focus and none of the gcams can properly focus. So if you're on Pie, don't bother, it won't be worthy of your time. If you're on Oreo, go to guides section and find guides about "camera 2 API" or "cam2API". Follow them to the letter then sideload gcam apk. :good:

Hey guys,
I changed my mobile from Pixel to OnePlus 9 pro as pixel phones weren't being released in India. However I am quite unhappy with the image processing of OnePlus 9pro. So my questions are
1) is there any gcam available for OnePlus 9 pro with 30x zoom feature supporting all functions of the stock camera.
2) is there any custom rom or pixel experience rom which would help me achieve this? Something that enables Google photos to image process the photos via Gcam.

I really must be not informed enough to understand what you mean about image processing. On my end, I take a picture, open it to look and make sure it isn't blurry from shaking hand, otherwise it looks good. Even when zooming in to look at some details. Again, sorry that I don't understand what you are asking or stating.
Ok so when I take photos using stock camera and then look at the image in photos the face, body etc looks too artificial maybe because of the poor image processing. While photos taken in gcam looks more natural. I see this issue only if i zoom a bit. Hence asked if i can make my default camera as gcam which directly processes the image via pixel rom and saves in Google photos which can activate 30x zoom as well.
Hope this makes sense.
