Hi everybody
I was struggling with the issue on topic.
Issue started suddenly and has never recovered since.
Current ATV version is 8.0.0
Play services update as expected, current version is 19.6.29
Play Store sticks to version 10.5.10 and reports itself as updated
Troubleshooting I made:
force update through play store's about page
clear data and cache in com.android.vending
clear data and cache in play services
clear data and cache in download manager
adjust date and time
cycle sign-in of Google account
went through two firmware updates, current version is V190
reset to factory
I've gathered a diagnostic log but I'm not sure if I can read it. What fail status , if ever, should I look for?
I've also tried to reinstall via apk taken from apkmirror, first I tried to version 11.x then went to 16.7.31, unfortunately that never resolved the issue.
Really , I don't know what else should I do at the moment.
Thanks for your help.
Max
I have the same model TV and play store is at version 10.5.10 and thinks it is up to date.
Hi again, the issue is still keeping on after a new factory reset. I've noticed that a new firmware version , V216 , has been released. Has anybody tried it yet?
How do you find out what the installed version is?
Do you mean the firmware?
On my device:
Home\settings\informations\contact us
If you talk about the version of the Play Store:
Play Store\settings\about > you'll see the current version.
As you may already know, if you click on the version and an update has been released it should download and install it.
Just got a kernel update.
Kernel version
4.4.3+

Hi again
I'll check fo the kernel update, in the meantime I updated again the firmware version from V190 to V216 and Play services updated correctly to 19.8.31 . Play store is still to version 10.5.10
I did all the troubleshooting that Google could offer and if I install an APK that won't follow the updates as well....help please!!
What are the benefits of updating the firmware?

is 440 the latest version? i flashed the apk and i lost the "ok google from any screen" feature. it's a minor detail, but i'm curious why that happened? do you happen to know where i can get the old apk?
this is the option screen now. there used to be an option to enable that feature from any screen
i found where to download the APKs. i updated to the latest Google Play Services version (470) and the OK Google ok any screen feature is still absent. not sure why they removed it. guess it may be using up too much battery?

do you know if there's a way to get the new anims in 5.5.8 to work without changing the sdk version from 21 to 22? Or are you doing without em?
i know version 22 is meant for 5.1 but i want the new anims, and as soon as i changed it to 22 play store started giving me errors, (obviously)

Is this "stock" G-Services? I mean, are they secure to get? As I find it weird my phone don't update manually if there is a new version available + it now ask for permission to route phone calls.

I saw this A while a while ago: http://phandroid.com/2015/09/07/how-to-use-android-pay-2/
Seems, at the time of this writing, you should download -440 if your using version 5.
-240 if it's version 8.
Hi,
I was testing some battery life and decided to "reset/revert" Google Play Services and noted we're on the 448 build just in case of an emergency where Google Play Services wouldn't auto-update itself. I click "update" and of course ... it errors out when trying to update.
So, I went to apk mirror to get the latest build here:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-services/
but noticed there are no 8.3.00 updates for the -448 chain/build. I decided to go with the -440 version since the Android version + CPU version seem like the most important things to replicate vs the screen DPI for functionality. So, now I'm on 8.3.00 (2353383-440).
Can someone who was auto-updated to 8.3.00 check the build number? (Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services -> Build is on top right) I just want to verify I'm on the same build and upgrade path as other 5x's. Thanks and reps in advance.

I recently acquired a Gionee M2017 and have been unable to install gapps apks or root the device. There is access to sign in to the google account which indirectly grants a portal to the main google apps including mail, calendar etc. It appears gionee has not granted support to google play services. It is possible to download apps from third party app sites though. Attempts at rooting have been unsuccessful internally with downloaded apps or with PC synchronization via USB debugging. Any suggestions or possibly I will need to wait until gionee sponsors a GMS core app or device can be rooted and flashed.

rooting gionee m2017 and gapps
For more information the methods of rooting tried included: 360 root, king root, kingo root, one click root, v root, z4 root, framaroot, root master (iroot), root genius. here possible on device and rooting apps that allow PC synchronization. It allows developer option of unlocking bootloader but no effect on downloading gapps or rooting.
Same issues here.. Cannot root or use Gapps.. Tried everything but nothing is helping.. I wish someone comes out with a solution or rooting software for this Gionee M2017 at the earliest.. Feel handicap without google apps.. Any advise will be highly appreciated..
With the new amigo OS update you can now install and run google play services. Still some bugs...google contact sync stops working and you cannot access google contacts or gmail.
Gionee m2017
Bugs fixed all Google apps work. Choose always allow read contacts and always allow location in app permissions.

I have uploaded videos to you tube with instructions
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thGtYBo16p4
This is only valid for Gionee M2017 after Amigo OS is updated.
General principle is to install google services framework 6.01 (available APK mirror), followed by google contact sync 6.01, google calendar sync, google play services 10.2.99 (440), google play store.
The downloads are available https://www.apkmirror.com/
Ohhh I am so so thankful. I can't believe I am using it. I was about to throw this phone away as it was becoming useless.
You just made my year.

hi , recent updates of google play services crashes the google apps in gione m2017, i managed to download and instal older version of google play services, but once it is opened its updating itself to newest version and crashes again.
any solutions?
how do i stop it from self updating? should i waite for another version to come?
tried to root but cant find any root apps to support gionee m2017
thanks
I have not experienced that problem with my gionee m2017. I am using version 8.0.73 without any problems. It is difficult to conclude if the problem is in your app settings or the signature of your updated version. You can try to delete it and install from third party site like app China. Other option choose older version from apk mirror site. Last option would be to reinstall google play services and possibly framework for 6.0.

my gionee is running on amigo os 3.5.11 (m2017 release version) android 6.0.1, could you tell me what version of google apps are installed in your device?
i will download and instal them as well from apkmirror.com
i have reseted my phone to factory details, i want to reinstall Gapss. maybe it will help.
thanks for your reply
I provided my version of play store in the last thread. Google play services 11.0.55. I have the same amigo OS version and android version. If you already reset to factory version then the other trouble shooting for app fixes are moot. Reinstalling gapps should restore functionality.

reinstalling solves the problem partialy.
everything works fine untill google play services updates itself automatically to version 11.3.02 then it stops working.
That is bizarre. I have no suggested fix for that.
There are two ways to install gapps through Chinese installer or sequential installation apk mirror.

should have bought Samsung ok thanks ill waite for another update to google services maybe it will solve ..
After you open play store first time go settings auto update stop updates. Gionee M 2017 is not certified under settings which means occasionally apps will misbehave. There are a lot of third party app sites as well.
I'm trying to install the Global ROM V425 using the official method given on Nubia's website, but it's not working. If anyone can help me solve the problem, I'll be so grateful!
I downloaded V425 from the official download page and copied the NX669J-update.zip file to the root directory of the phone, then tried to do the update as follows:
Settings >> System Update >> ... >> Local update >> select the file >> Only install
After about 10 seconds, I got this error:
Upgrade package and the current phone version does not match, can not be updated, please check the current version is obtained from the official channel
I'm not sure what to do now, and having seen that error message I'm now afraid that if I try any other method for the update I might brick the phone, since I've already been warned that the software is not compatible.
The current software version is NX669J_CNCommon_V7.14 and when I checked for updates I got a message telling me the current version is the latest.
Phone info...
Model: NX669J-P
Red Magic OS: V4.5
Build number: NX669J_CNCommon_V7.14
Android version: 11
Hardware version: NX669J_V1AMB
Thanks for reading and I hope you can help!

UPDATE: I noticed that in the About Phone section the device name is "腾讯红魔游戏手机6Pro" which translates to "Tencent Red Magic Game Phone 6Pro".
Seems it might be the Tencent version of the phone. Could this be the reason I'm getting the error message? Is it possible to put the Global ROM on the Tencent version?
Hi,
I am originally using global version with the latest updated v4.25 rom since September and i think you are using the tencent set with CN rom installed on your device. Why would you change to global? Is it cooler with CN rom? I bet you will regret you will lose so many features that you can get on CN if you are migrating to the Global rom.
The main reason is that the phone's current ROM doesn't have Google apps/services
Is it possible to sideload Google apps onto this device with current ROM or the only way is to flash global ROM?

If i am not mistaken, you can download the PlayStore from apkpure website - https://m.apkpure.com/google-play-store/com.android.vending and start to use Google application afterwards once successfully installed on the CN rom device you are using.
Thanks a lot - maybe I have been overcomplicating this issue! Will check and see if j can get it installed

That's fine. But some Google apps will not working at all eg like Gmail or Google Duo (i am not very sure exactly) because it still recognise your device status. You may check one by one any Google apps downloaded from the PlayStore later

When I manually checked for updates to Play Services today there was a ~470kb update. Installed and rebooted. Checked again and it said there was the same size update available, installed and rebooted. Checked and it was there again. Anyway, took 3 times to install, whether they were different updates I don't know.
Currently on Version 22.12.15 (190400-439420056) which I assume is the latest non-beta version. Still shows as dated 1st March.
(note that my version is 190400 which is what came officially from a check for updates so not sure about the 190400 vs 190408 debate)

Bit of a shame that Google is simply copy/pasting the update log from previous months. I was hoping for some decent information, as to where certain things had been improved, instead we just get the same generic text every time, very slightly altered. So the question arises: Is it even necessary/useful to try to keep this up to date with manual installing?

I have got several 496kb Play Services updates over the past few days, sometimes a couple on the same day, now on Version 22.13.12 (190400-437950728).
Again, not sure if it's the same version failing until it successfully installs or if each has been a genuine update (the fact it has been exactly the same sized update each times makes me think it's the former).
