[Q] How to Map to Quick Compose SMS

Hi Guys, bit of a noob.
Coming from iPhone, I could Quick Compose an SMS from anywhere using a designated shortcut using BiteSMS. In my case, I used the Volume buttons on iphone to activate the quick compose option.
Now, I wanted to know if this could be done on Android. Handcent etc have Quick Compose but its configured when you press the search button. However, the NOTE II doesnt have a hardware search button. So does anyone know how this could be done?
Bump
you could set up a shortcut in the quick command or set up a gesture in gmd gesture/pen control.

Just checked. That's not why I'm looking for. Thanks
Swipepad.
It's free. There are paid add ons, but the free version is good enough as is. You can essentially "swipe" from a chosen hotspot somewhere around the screen and have access to whatever apps or shortcuts you put there.
There are 10 possible hotspots along the screen edges: top right/left corner, bottom right/left corner, top, bottom, upper right/left, lower right/left.
The paid add ons include a keypad, widgets, or more space. No matter what app you are in, you can just swipe at the designated hotspot to access your swipepad right away. Even in games. You can adjust the size of the hotspot as well. Try choosing a hotspot reachable by your thumb.
No root necessary.
Aside from adding the quick compose option, try adding something like Aircalc (free, floating calculator) and a floating note app... you might not think you'd use it a lot, but trust me it is infinitely useful. You can use it in conjunction with Nova Launcher's shortcuts (recent apps, home, app drawer, notification drawer) for even easier one handed access as well.
Ok I've kinda found a solution.
ChopSms has the quick compose feature but in addition to using the search button as a shortcut you can also use the notification centre. So I've just gone for that. I can access the notification bar more or less from everywhere do that'll do me fine.

anyone use pie controls?

I discovered pie controls back with my g3 in 2014. Loved it, easiest way to swap between apps IMO. I really enjoy them and wanted to see if there was any other side launchers or "pie" style controls that people are using? Also for those who don't know if you double tap the recent app soft icon "square" on your phone you can quickly and easily swap between the 2 most recent apps.
I now also use pie controls. Though I use them as navigation controls because sometimes it's difficult for me to reach the navbar buttons at the bottom. I like that I can swipe from the edge and pull the notifications down instead of pressing the navbar button.
I recently started using Meteor Swipe. I put all my most used apps there instead of in pie controls because I find apps are easier to reach from the edge and feels more organised. I also included Tasker shortcuts that toggle Bluetooth, WiFi, and Autorotate so I don't have to reach for the quick settings up top (though I also have these set up in pie controls as long presses).
Oh! And Meteor Swipe also has floating widgets! I find this very useful with Unified Remote as i often use it to control my PC media. I don't like having a persistent Unified Remote notification controls.
Yeah I really like Nougat's double tap Recent Apps button to switch to last app.
I've used many pie apps from root to no root and this app won me over hands down the best

There is no quick launch option in the camera settings in the galaxy s9

I have seen the galaxy s9 camera has an option of a quick launch by double clicking the power button, and this can be enabled by the activating the quick launch option in the camera settings, however this option is no where available in my phone, is this an option disabled for the indian made phones ?
Regards,
Glenn
For me, it's the 5th option under Settings > Advanced Features > "Quick launch Camera"
But I guess the Indian version does not have that? here's some options from the S8, which might be similar: https://www.sammobile.com/news/indi...8-users-quick-launch-camera-always-on-display
A few other ideas to consider:
My favorite it use a custom launcher (such as Nova), and I set it so that if I swipe up anywhere on the home screens, it launches the camera.
Additionally, I did see an app that could remap the bixby hard key on the left to be any action or application you wanted, such as the Camera. I forget the name of this app, but I'm sure you can find it if you search for remapping the bixby button.
Thanks,
But could not find it under advanced features too
But with the thread you shared, im able to do it with the home button, it helps

add split screen to power menu

Hello everyone!
I'm using LOS 15.1 as my first custom ROM, with GMD gesture control (no nav bar in screen).
There is no option to split screen with GMD so I think to add it to power menu.
Any ideas to do that?
I'm new in custom and rooted phone, I've heard about substratum them engin, doese it allows that kind of customisation?
Edit
I add this option with button maper, and long press low volume. I had a bad experience with that app but it seems to work great in custom ROM.
Edit (again)
I use fluid n.g. in addition to add split screen and assistant, everything work fine with both simultaneously?

Google Home Routine as Swipe Action

Wondering if anybody has a workflow to set a Google Home routine as a swipe action. I'd like to be able to swipe up on the Google Home desktop icon to activate one of our smart devices. I don't believe the functionality is built into Nova alone, but perhaps I'm missing it. Thanks!
