Head phone jack makes tracks skip

I have an HTC Desire which has an issue with the headphone jack.
When playing tracks on Spotify app and using a 3,5mm to 3,5mm plug to plug to connect it to my car the tracks jump around all the time.
I assume that it has to do with the remote button connections on the HTC headphones.
I have seen on other forums people discussing this and reckon its the cable. It could well be as it is only a cheap one from somewhere like Maplin.
I was wondering if there is a utility to stop the remote connections if that is what is causing this.
Any help in any way is appreciated.
Thanks
Simon
Try an App called Headset blocker

Had the same issue when I connected my speaker with subwoofer through the headphone jack. the speakers without the woofer worked fine.
I kinda figured that the power feedback from the woofer through the sound cable messes with the phone because I didnt encount this issue when I was using my bluetooth headset with the woofer and speakers.
Edit: the headset blocker sounds like a good solution to your problem, atleast its better than investing money in an bluetooth headset
Same problem here. I strongly doubt the cause of this problem is the cable.
I tried the stock cable, the iPhone cable and the cable which I use in my car, all three have the same issue.
I believe something is wrong with the headphone jack in my desire.
The remote controls on the stock cable don't work properly as well on my device.

Sound coming from headphone jack

Lately it is very hard to hear anyone during a phone call through the receiver. Oddly, the sound seems to be coming out of the headphone jack (with nothing plugged into it). I'm trying to figure out if the internal speaker got bent somehow or did the receiver grill suddenly clog? It perhaps dine other options. Any advice?

[Q] How to fix USB jack?

My USB jack has ceased to work after replacing the headphone jack. The headphone jack, ironically, works great now. How do I fix this?

No sound coming from headphones using HTC one m9

When I plug in my headphones to the HTC, it acknowledges that they are plugged in as the headphone symbol shows up but no sound comes when I play a video or a game. These headphones came with the phone too. BUT when I use these same headphones on my iPhone it works perfectly, so I know something is wrong with the HTC, not the headphones. Other headphones also don't work on the HTC. Only the HTC's inbuilt speakers work but no sound from headphones. Do anyone know how to fix this problem?

Could be your headphone jack. It may be possible to replace it yourself, or pay someone to do it for you.
Headphone jack, probably worn out or has crap in it clogging it up. Mine is still working well with headphones but no dice with my car headphone to aux cable. The cable is probably outdated. I have 3rd party headphones that worked well at first but now the microphone is acting up during calls and boomsound "glitches" on and off now and again. Headphones are in good - very good condition but I can't rule out an internal break in the wire.
I would be inclined to say that the m9 has sensitive electronics attached to the headphone jack and any short circuits or voltage/amperage/resistance discrepancies would be picked up to protect the rest of the sound system. Headphone jacks tend to arc too which is why you get a thump in speakers when you connect or disconnect the jack.

Headphone Jack Broken (Kinda)

So I have read about Z5P having headphone jack problems. So mine has started to that today. If I pressed on my headphone jack so hard it would detect the headphone but if I relased my finger it would detect that headphone is disconnected which is still connected.
So I reasearched and found out about soundabout and I tested it and it detects my headphones with it. And I also realised that headjack is a bit loose and my plugged in headphones can shake a little bit inside the jack. So I think this is hardware+software problem.
The think is headphone jack is definitely broken but why does it work with soundabout? Oh also if I shake the jack while headphone is connected it will also disconnect from soundabout but that is not bad as without it (at least it works).
I am also using the m-rom light build will that cause a issue?
I guess this phone is totally dead will never ever get support from someone considering the activity on this forum. Looking forward to replacing this piece of crap.

I replaced the headphone port and turned the problem off and then came back again after using the note that I rarely used headphones

A bit late replay but it seems that headphone jack quality on Z5P is just terrible.
