[TOOL] SDCARD Backup and Sync user-data/files - OnePlus 7T Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello All,
I DID NOT MAKE THIS! I just use it and it works very well for my OP7T
SD-Card Sync Sauce

Syncs internal storage including downloads folder etc.. just select the Android option and not the TWRP one

[Q] Synergy-Kingdom App Force closes

Hey, I recently flashed the 7/14 nightly, great rom. However, the rom force closes many applications--specifically after restarting the phone. I followed the following steps:
"Here is what I did to get up and running when I was having application issues. These instructions are for people that have previously flashed (or currently on with app issues) the Synergy/Kingdom rom.
NOTE: **I have my 16 GB Class 2 SD card partitioned**
1- Go to menu > settings > privacy and uncheck the 2 backup and restore options
* "Automatic Restore" - Do this one first
* "Back up my settings" - this also deletes anything already backed up in the cloud
2- If sense is missing from your last flash:
* Before you flash create a folder "synergyROM" (no quotes) on the root of your SD card.
* Inside that folder create a folder "rosie" (no quotes).
3- Copy the TB apk to SynergyROM > app.user - this will install the app on flash so you don't have to DL it from the market
4- Boot to recovery and Wipe, Wipe, Wipe
* Manually wipe everything (except SD card) using Ra 2.3 (you can do 2X to be safe).
* Flash the VR Superwipe
5- Flash the rom
6- When running setup set the data to sync manually
7- Run TB and restore all your apps
8- Once everything is installed, give everything time to settle down and then boot back to recovery and wipe your caches.
Reboot back to the rom and you should be good to go!"
However it didn't help,
I think the issue is that I'm running link2sd to automatically send apps to ext. Has anybody found a remedy besides never turning their phones?
Thanks in Advance!! I can't post on the development section yet so I posted here.

[Q]

Thanks in advance for your time and help.
I'm trying to transfer system settings, apps, and data from one Galaxy Note 2 to another using Titanium Backup Pro with SuperUser installed. Both phones are rooted and are identical and run the exact same version of the same Android OS.
After backing up the contents and system data of the old phone, I upload the 1.7 GB backup files up to DropBox via the "Sync to DropBox" function. All 1.7 GB appears on DropBox.
I remove the SIM card and SD card from the old phone and put it into the new phone. On the new phone, I install the pro version of Titanium, and the superuser apps, plus BusyBox.
To download the backup files from DropBox to my new phone, I tap on "Sync to DropBox" on the new phone. Instead of downloading the backup files from DropBox to my new phone, this deletes all the DropBox files stored there. This happens probably because by tapping Sync on the new phone within Titanium, it sees that the backup folder is empty and therefore cleans out what was previously uploaded from the old phone.
The same SD card that was used on the old phone is now in the new phone and should technically contain the backup files, but Titanium installed on the new phone says there are zero backups on it.
1) How can I make Titanium download 1.7GB of the backup files instead of deleting it?
2) After being able to successfully download the backup files, I suppose what I need to do after that is to restore apps + system data? Thanks so much for your help!
Weird, that's not how it's supposed to work. You could attempt to either restore the android id or create a new one from tb options.
Regarding your second question, yes, but when restoring system data, I prefer to simply tick the apps and xmls that I want to avoid conflicts.

Why you not changing location of TB to Ext SD card and select Auto Sync TB setting
After this reload application and just move same SD card to new device, install TB and everything will be fine.
-To restore
I recommend
-Restore missing app + Data
then only data from
Contact storage - green
Messeging-yellow
setting-green
setting storage-green
Sec Home Launcher - Red
I think this should be enough.
Thanks
Thanks for your helpful suggestions, guys.
What I figured out is this: Titanium Backup defaults to syncing the external SD card TI folder with the DropBox folder. If the folder is empty or isn't present on the external SD card (the one that is removable), it will delete the files that are on the cloud on DropBox but not on the external SD card.
The workaround is to specify where Titanium Backup should look for the backup files. If I connect my new phone to a computer and manually move the TI Backup files to the internal SD card (internal phone memory) and later specify for TI Backup to look at the phone's memory, not the external SD card for the TI Backup folder, the backup will work just fine (except for the usual app installation glitches because the Android ID doesn't match).
When I clicked "Sync to DropBox" on my new phone, hoping that the DropBox backup files would be downloaded to the new phone, I didn't realize that the external SD card was full and so TI Backup defaulted to Sync it with the internal SD storage on the new phone which was of course empty.
When I realized this, what I did was to manually move the entire TI Backup folder from DropBox to the new phone.
Thanks very much for your help and time taken to advise me. I really appreciate your responses.

[Q] Insufficient Free Storage Space

While trying to update my titanium Backup, I receive this message.
"Batch Backup interrupted: Insufficient free storage space"
I am backing up to my external SD card, and have over 23GB of free space. Titanium Backup has been working fine since I updated to 4.2.2 and just today for the first time generated this error.
Has anyone seen this before. I will try deleting the backup folder and generating a complete backup. I will off load my TI backup to my desktop before deleting the folder on the ext SD card.
The problem was that somehow the ext SD card got mounted as R/O, so just changed to R/W and all is fine.
Not sure what app did that, but will look about.

I am not certain on the Note 8 as I am a Droid person. However, I am rooted and used my file manager to change from R/O to RW. Not sure how to do this if you are not rooted.
Here's the fix!
Follow these steps to fix...
1.) Open Preferences and choose backup folder location
2.) Select Detect and choose whole device
3.) Choose the option /storage/emulated/legacy
4.) Select Use the current folder
5.) Benefit
Just an FYI, same thing happened to me today. It ended up being a permissions problem for me too. I used Root Explorer to add write back to my backup directory and all is fine now.

I had to reboot for this to fix the issue, but after that everything worked great. Thanks.
HI guys,
Can anyone help me? I'm having above same issue but not with ext sd card. Mines my internal storage. I have 10gb space. Tried the above but it needs me to create a folder.
Cheers guys.

I use TiBu to store to uSD myself. Root Explorer navigates to uSD click the + key to create a folder and name it whatever you wish. Do the preference deal then use the back key to navigate to that folder you created (wherever it may be). Select if then the setting will be saved when you reboot TiBu.
The above fix did not work for me. I have TiB pro installed on my rooted stock Samsung D710. TiB says that my 32GB external card is not writable. According to ES file explorer, it is. How do I fix this conflict? The last backup that I know of is over a week old.

This method didn't help me either. I had to uninstall the app and then just install the new one from market.
I have the same issue. Just started with the latest version. I tried changing the bu folder and even uninstalling and reinstalling. Both to no avail.

Hi to all I have encountered the same issue with insufficient storage space in my Nexus 7 2012 3g after the last update to v.6.1.5.1. I have tried the preferences fix and nothing happened, I have also created a new folder and used it as a new backup location and still no fix. I have even uninstalled the app and the pro key, rebooted and re-installed both and still the issue persists.I have checked the permissions on the folders used thru root explorer and total commander and they were both read and write ticked...
I also fixed permissions of the app thru ROM toolbox pro, I cleared thru app management in settings the cache of the app....
I have even ensured that the Superuser setting is set to apps and adb. Any ideas on how to proceed??? I start to feel a bit stupid (besides irritated!)
Note that after the last update the app is working great in my GNex but not in my N7 2012 3g so what is the issue??
I thank you in advance for any reply...
and yes I know that this sub forum is for another device but I am getting desperate...

1. In TitaniumBackup press menu, then press preferences under the general section.
2. Next, under backup protection settings, press backup folder location.
3. When the new menu appears, press back to get to a file browser. It should say something like /storage/emulated/0 for the path.
4. Press back again and then select legacy, so the path is now /storage/emulated/legacy
5. Then scroll to your TitaniumBackup folder and select it.
6. Then press use the current folder, and press yes when the popup appears.
Then try doing your normal backup procedure.

What I got to work was basically following the steps above, but I created a new folder for my backups (/storage/emulated/legacy/TiBak) and it fixed my issue.
I found out the reason for Ti Backup not able to backup on SD card...
The fix that everyone is using, points Ti Backup to the internal storage. Which fixes the issue by routing the backups away from SD card.
Depending on version of Ti Backup and how you shut down or end Ti Backup, Android will mess up the file system of your SD card. The only way to fix the issue, is to unmount and remove the SD card and fix the SD card's filesystem on a laptop or computer.
I had an issue once with an older version of Ti backup... about a month ago. Since I have a lot of data and files on my 64GB exfat SD card, I take it out and do a few maintenance tasks time to time. Once I found the file fragments that were crosslinked and removed them Ti Backup found my folder and was able to perform all its functions.
Until the developer of Ti Backup has a better way of controlling background processes to be shutdown gracefully during exit, this can be problematic for some.

[Q] Bricked my phone... have Titanium Backup installed and TWRP... how to restore?

I have rooted the phone but have not upgraded the (Stock?) ROM for many months.
I was trying to get WiFi Tethering to work again and flashed a file that was supposed to fix it. It didn't.
(Edit: That file was "MD4HotspotMod-Odexed.zip"...)
Do I have to re-flash the last ROM I downloaded? I think it is still on either the internal storage or the external SD card.
"Power+Home+Volume UP" will flash a ROM, but I don't know where the ROM needs to be. I think I had to rename it "update.zip" and put it in the root of the internal memory last time...
"Power+Home+Volume DOWN" puts me into Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0, but I don't know what to do in there.
(It is stuck at the glowing SAMSUNG logo when I attempt to boot normally...)
Thanks.
P.S. In TWRP, the last backup I did was apparently about a year ago... can I use that then once the phone works again, boot it up and restore via Titanium Backup?
Files I see on SD card
* cm-10.1-20130417-NIGHTLY-d2spr.zip
* CWM-Touch-6030naddict.zip
* eec955eb4a5b.update_SPH-L710_LI3_to_L. (can't read the rest... too long of a filename?)
* gapps-jb-20130301-signed.izp
* Know_APP_removeer.zip
* LJ7_PhantomHacker_blazed_v2.1.zip
* MB1_update_FULL_DeOdex.zip
* MD4_Update_FULL_DeOdex.zip
* SPHL710_MK3_rooted_odexed.zip
* TWRP-recovery-2.5.0.0_naddict.zip
* wifi_fix_mk3.zip
Files in main memory (root)
* 4de78f2682b5.update_SPH-L710_LEN_to_L
* CWM-Touch-6030naddict.zip
* Odin307.zip
* recovery-clockwork-6.0.1.2-d2spr.img
* recovery.tar.md5
* TeamEpic-Root-from-Recovery-v5.zip
* update.zip (?!)
Flash md4_full_DeOdex.zip, but dont wipe anything. With luck you will see everything again.
You flashed hotspot hacked from an odexed rom. You need the DeOdexed version of the hack.
Sent from my Note's unrootable chinese clone.
Thanks.
The phone is working again, but now my WiFi won't work.
I think I'd like to just wipe the phone and start from scratch, but I've never done that before.
Should I start a new thread or could you or someone point me in the right direction?
Your best bet is installing a custom and updated ROM, like MOAR for example. That's the one that I use.
Backup everything in internal to pc or external sd, also your apps, contacts, text, etc. As an advise you can delete that lot of old files. You must have like 2gb of old and outdated roms.
Check for an updated recovery like Philz or latest TWRP.
If you choose TWRP, go to wipe/advance and wipe System, Data, Internal Storage.
Be sure you have in your external sd the mk3 modem and the rom you choose. Flash the modem and then the rom. Setup everything and copy back to internal your files.
ROMS and Current Recoveries are in Android Development. Check the ones with MK3.
Most of them have the direct link to mk3 modem. If not CNexus have a link in General.
And if I helped you, please use the thanks button

I backup everything by just copying and pasting to the external SD card using ES File Explorer.
1) What program do I use to backup my apps, contacts, text messages, etc.?
a) Apps: Titanium Backup
b) Text Messages: SMS Backup & Restore
c) Contacts: I have my Google account synced with my phone, so I think this is automatically backed up?
2) What program will make an exact image of my internal memory so it can be restored in completeness?
3) Is there an easy fix for my WiFi in the meantime?
I use for texts my backup root. (Mms and texts)
To the backup image you can nand with TWRP. When you are in recovery there's a backup button(choose external sd).
I don't know about any fix, but reinstall. Sorry about that.

[Q] Install multiple Galaxy Tab 3 10.1s exactly the same - SOLUTION

Hi,
Is it possible to clone a device and rollout this 'disk-image' to other devices?
I've to install 16 tablets, exactly the same ones. They have to be exactly the same as well.
They are used in museum lessons.
Thnx
Got it to work using this steps:
- make sure installation is oke
- get TWRP recovery on device
- Boot in TWRP recovery
- Make backup using TWRP
- Save backup on PC (TWRP/Backups folder)
- Take new device using same rom
- Get TWRP on device
- Make smallest backup possible of new device using TWRP (in order to get specific backup folder names from new device)
- Also save this on pc
- Now copy the first complete backup to the tablet in the TWRP/Backups folder, alongside the small one just created.
- Rename this folder containing complete backup to the name of the small one created
- Reboot in TWRP
- Go to restore
- Select restore file
- Swipe to restore
Thnx for putting me in right direction.
E,
probably the best way for only 16 devices, is to establish your "prototype" with the complete rom, then
make a full backup of the rom and pull a copy of that to your pc, then push the back up to the other tabs
and restore the backup. All 16 tabs must run the same recovery.
m
Hi, thnx for the answer..
I'm very new to all this.
Can you be a bit more specific?
