If you come from 9.1 with call recorder already installed, then it automatically works on emui 10. As soon as you factory reset, you will not be able to install call recorder file.

Maybe it is another "somebody" who can try to repack the app and upload it as APK.

Only way to do this by rollback to 9.1, install recorder then update EMUI 10 again

I was referring to another Mate 20X Chinese version. I have no idea how you can use it on any other model.
Does anyone know of any Huawei global devices that are currently shipped with EMUI 10 out of the box and include native call recording?
I also read elsewhere that the Chinese devices call recording may not work on global versions. That however hasn't been verified by myself though.

I am able to install it on version 10. It shows the record button but not working. Im sure a developer can help with this issue.
I am able to install it using apk editor pro. All I did is changing the install location from auto to internal. I don't know why it is making any different, only remember that I read this solve the same issue.
So im sure that if an android developer will take a look at this and change some other thing with apk editor we will be able to install it properly.

To have a fully working Google Dialer, you need to install the Google Dialer framework. To do that, you can either use the magisk module or just get the zip for the framework and flash it with TWRP.
If the phone is not rooted then you have to live with a Google Dialer that may have less features.

Hi there, so I purchased the p20 last night and will be receiving this phone (Location: Canada). I tried clicking on the link but it says 404 error. I have never done rooting before and am a little hesitant, since it will void the warranty. Also, I heard that Android 9 is supposed to block call recording - has anyone experienced this issue using the genuine call recorder? Thank you very much

Followed the instructions using the zip-file in this thread I'm currently writing.
After reboot, opening the phone app and clicking on settings, the phone app closes itself and mobile network is shut down. No more calls or any mobile network acitivity possible. In the system settings SIM1 is not available and so cannot be reactivated. Tried several times reassigning the permissions properly.
Only deleting the HwCallRecorder and reboot solves the issues and everything is working as before.
So, right now not working for me.

IT IS WORKING FINE on a EML-L29C432B164patch01.
I'll check for the most updated version and will make a magisk module.
Sorry to ask but does this work on android 9 p20. The reason I ask is that I believe there is a system update this month to upgrade emui 8.1 to 9.0. Also I have an eml-l09 build. Thanks

For all apk, say problem during analyzing and of course not be able to install :crying:
I think I haven't problem with API2 because all of my versions of Google Cam work.
Any suggestions?

Downloaded with PC under windows, and installed after on Mix 2
But really only stikers with Google Cam work, other app on playstore ask for another version of ARCore.

Installed the first two APKs, the third one is missing. ARCore by Google in Play Store shows up as installed, but incompatible with this device.
Doesn't seem to work - I don't see any new icon and can't install an app that depends on ARCore like com.ken.arsensor from Play Store.

Here is the link to the official version of the Call Recorder for Android 10/EMUI 10.1 for Mate 20X and possibly other Mate or P series phones. I have installed it on my Mate 20 X 5G EVR-N29 and is running with no issues. You do not need to modify any files or root your phone. Just download and install.
Also, when downloading the file, if the file extension is .bin, just rename the file extension to .apk and install.
Thank you to Huawei and the users of the relevant sources below for sharing this really useful utility. Now we can all enjoy using the Mate 20x 5G even more. Lets hope someone can fix the battery drain on the 5G Model too. This is probably the single most important issue facing the 5G model.

Recording saved to: storage/emulated/0/Sounds/CallrecIord/"filename".m4a but it doesn't record anything and the file is not saved either. Have you been able to fix it?

An interesting phenomenon to report. Last night I stopped playing with the settings. Looked at the dialler screen during my first call this morning and found that call recording was in progress, without any further change... Also, the recorder plays it nicely, so I don't have to go and find the recording.

I've read that it installs on 10.1 with no problem. But on 11 its a whole different matter. Some apps will install smoothly on 10 but not on 11 especially when theyre not made for 11
