I'm considering getting a fold but I need dual sim capability. Physical sim cards, not esim. I can't find any definitive information about it. Does anyone know?
Thanks.
I don't think there's a dual SIM variant, it's just 1 physical SIM and in some countries an esim

Thanks.. that's a pity. I just looked at the UAE website and the Indian website. UAE is Esim too, and the Indian version doesn't even have that unfortunately. Hopefully my provider supports esim soon.

Hi to you all.
I'm about to buy a S9 from Vodafone.
Vodafone blocks the dual-sim functionality on all dual-sim devices that they sell.
However, a year or two ago I came across with a Huawei P8 Lite for my kid and there was a trick that managed to make the P8 dual sim once again.
We had to unlock the device with the proper code and then install the TPH Rom from Huawei.
Do you think that the same thing will happen with the S9?

I don't think so. On Samsung (not sure about others) they do not assign a secondary IMEI on the single SIM versions so that will be the biggest problem even if you find a way to activate it.
My point is that Vodafone does not have single sim phones. They sell the dual-sim S9 but they block the 2nd SIM functionality.
Not a hardware problem.

That might be true for Huawei phones but that has not been my experience with Samsung. Typically the dual SIM Samsungs are a different SKU, they are even labelled as 'Duos' on the device (I am looking at my dual SIM S7 now).

That was true until the S8....indeed Dual Sim models were different from single-sim models.
But with S9, there is no single-sim model in Europe, so the S9 that Vodafone will receive is the same... they just block de dual-sim conectivity, just as they did with the huawei models, that were all dual-sim.

Oh wow had no idea, thank you for the heads up. I have always wondered why Samsung have the option for either single or dual sim when buying direct from their site, particularly as they are the same price.
Hi guys. Is there any physical difference, other than thr sim tray, between S9 G960F and G960FD? I got my S9 on contract from MTN South Africa, and their policy is "no dual sim phones". Is it possible to activate dual sim functionality by putting a different rom version on?

Apologies, seems to have posted this in the incorrect place. How do you delete it?
I think both phone versions have the same firmware so.... maybe they have a different hardware or when you insert the sim card from your carrier the second slot is blocked by the firmware.
Mine is unlocked, dual sim. I really don't know if you unlock it do the trick!

Ive heard that some guys in Taobao can change G965N into duo sim but it requires no root and bootloader locked firstly. I guess it might be basically just flash FD firmware or some what idk, my 965n had rooted and that duo sim service costs like 200-300RMB for korean variant S9/+/Note9. does anyone know how it works???
No, you cannot convert a single sim into a dual SIM. There's more to it than just the SIM tray unfortunately. The FD has additional hardware.
It's impossible.
I know EVR-L29 represents the dual sim model But are there any single sim models?
Reason I ask is, a shop here in the UK is selling one but don’t say if it’s dual sim or not.
Google struggle to finds any mention of a single sim model.
GSMArena shows a global model and and China model.
Thanks.

Hi, I spotted the XT2013-4 version of the phone in a store and was wondering if it had dual SIM?
I couldn't find much about that specific version online. It appears some versions are dual sim, some other are not, but couldn't figure out which one.
Thank you

If the device only displays 1 IMEI, then is cannot support Dual SIMs, do you have the exact model number?

Thanks for the information. Moto support reached out to me and told me I have an Australian model (XT2075-3). It's crazy because everything I read about the phone online did not mention anything about single sim model. Before I bout it I even googled the model number and found nothing.
That's sad :\

yeah, we had the same problem with at least Moto G 1st gen and Moto G5 : both signle and dual SIM were available (it was even worse with 1st gen as there was also a 4G/LTE version)

That sucks, i got mine from jb hifi and its definitely dual sim. Id be blaming telstra/optus for the single sim thing, no doubt they have more than a little say in it.... Cant have you using one of the other carriers cards in there now
