How do I move apps from Internal storage to SD card - Xiaomi Redmi 7 Questions & Answers

Trying to root my phone but got locked out for a few days, can anyone confirm that you can move apps to SD card after rooting, tried another non-root way that turned your sd-card to internal storage but couldnt see how much storage was being used by what app so if its anything like that Im prolly gonna hold off on rooting.

my applications

so there is something weird going on my phone
when i install apps on my phone it should automatically install them on the sd card
cuz i did that thing when i installed the rom with the app2sd
anyway
sometimes when i install apps it suddenly installs them on the internal memory of the phone and not the external which is the sd card
and i dont know why
so i tried to download app2sd manually and try to move them to the sd card
but its not letting me
and because i have only 10 mb free on the internal memory so i cant download anything and i cant get sms and more stuff
and ideas what to do???
App2sd uses some internal memory still for cache and stuff. App2sd doesn't mean everything to do with apps will go on your SD card, just means some of it will. If the apps arn't actually going onto the SD card then reinstall app2sd. Personally, app2sd is useless and causes more problems than solves them.
but if i delete the app2sd it wont change anything and those apps that still installed on the internal memory will still be there so what should i do??
If you want applications to automatically install on your external storage (SD Card), why no try this: Click?
great man thx alot its working

[Q] Sd card filling up after flashing new roms.

Hi I looked to see if anyone else posted about this and I couldn't find one like this. I have an evo that I have rooted. I still have the 8gb sd card. After I rooted my phone I still had about 6gb left on my sd card. After I flashed Mikfroyo 4.5, reinstalled all my apps and and put most of my games on my sd card, like I had before I flashed mikfroyo I had about 4gb left on my sdcard. Yesterday I flashed a new rom on my phone, installed most of the apps that I had, and put the same amount of apps on my sd card it went down to under 2gb. I don't see triple the amount of folders on my sd card. Does anyone know why it shows up like this or at least how to free up some room? Thanks.

Have you been deleting the ROMs from your SD card after you flash them? Each Sense rom is roughly 180-200mb. It adds up. Also, if you have been creating Nandroid backups, they too will take up a lot Space, and you need to shuffle through them and delete the old ones. Nandroid backups add up quick. I don't store my apps on the SD card, so don't know much about it, but what method are you using to do so, and are you sure they're not doubling up? I'd be more suspicious of an excess amount of nandroid backups and roms on the sd card though. It doesn't take much to fill up that stock 8gb card.
i agree you should check how many nadroid backups you have on your card, they take a lot of room, i usually move them from my phone to my pc and only leave the last one on my phone, plus they are safer on the computer. also all the zip files you use to flash roms can be moved from the sd card to the computer, once used you dont need them on the root of your sd card anymore they just waste space, i would also recommend upgrading to a 16gb sd card ebay has them for like 20 to 30 bucks and save you the trouble of worrying about memory. to move files from one sd card to another you just connect phone to pc as disk drive open my pc and right click on the drive that represents your phone, go to folder options and in views, select view hidden files. once that is done just copy all inside the sd card to a folder on your pc. then you unplug from the computer, turn off phone replace old sd with new, turn on your phone go to settings storage and unmount the sd card then format it. the plug it to your pc again in disk drive open the folder where you put all the info from the old sd and copy all that to the drive your phone represents and hit yes when it says if you like to copy and replace some files, then you are done new sd and twice the memory cv

Running Apps from the SD card?

Hey guys. I know this phone has a lot of internal storage (especially compared to the OG EVO which was my last phone.) However, be that as it may I would still like to throw some apps on the SD card if its not going to fook everything up. I remember I tried moving SD compatible apps to the SD card when I was on Stock rooted and when I restarted the phone all the apps that were saved to the SD card would not work.
Is there a way to put apps on the SD card or is not doable at this point in time?
Did you wait for the media scanner to complete? I have all apps that can go to sd on my sd card and they work fine. Sometimes even when it's done scanning the apps take a while to load completely but once they do they work fine...

[Q] Simulated SD Card folder

Hey guys, I installed the I747MVLLH1 Android 4.1.1 early leak and since then it created a simulated SD Card on my internal storage without my knowledge. I have since installed numerous games and apps that require an external SD card to run, but I want to move them onto the actual internal storage at this point.
I cannot get access for apps on the external storage without deleting the simulated SD card folder and I don't want to have to reinstall all the apps over again. Does anyone have any thoughts on how to get around this?

[Q] Move apps to the EXTERNAL SD card??

Any way to truly move apps to the external SD card?
I have just recnetly learned that moving apps "to the SD card" in the settings>apps menu doesnt truly move them to the external SD card.
Why is that?
I dont have many apps yet, but it seems the apps i do have slowly get larger and larger as i use them and they save user data. (game progress for example).
Id like to know that I could at least move things that i dont care how fast they load to a truly external SD card (along with my wallpapers, ringtones, etc)
Even if theres a manual way via USB, thats cool. Just hoping someone with more than about a months worth of experience with a captivate glide (or really, i guess any phone that by default wont let you) could give some advice.
thanks!

You have sd card integrated to the board, its not true sd card. You can swap internal sd to external sd, then you can use same move function to use external micro sd card as application storage.

So theres no way to just manually tell it to move there without messing up whats already on the internal storage?
The Android system still has no option to move app to external sd. You can copy everything from internal (built-in) sd to external and apply change-fstab.zip to make Android think that your external sd is internal and vice versa. Works on every 4.4 rom. No performance drawbacks if using class 10 sd card. Worked for me flawlessly and thanks to bubor for this great feature.
And for manually... There's an app called Link2SD. It's some sort of workaround. You make second partition on your external SD and move apps there, leaving links for Android system on your internal storage. You can find it in google market, be sure to read instructions first.

I remember trying link2sd on a friends tablet recently. it recognized certain apps as moveable, but when i actually tried to move them (on an SD that i had already partitioned) it said failure every time.
But im not sure i want to switch my storage entirely. I would just like to allow, say another 4 gigs on my SD card (with the other 4 being for wallpapers, ringtones, etc). i have an 8 gig card right now.
Then you should try link2sd here. Basically, no other options, unless you wish to emulate Link2SD work with some scripts and move apps manually. I saw some patches for Lenovo phones to combine internal storage or something like that, but they will not work on Glide obviously.
