"Phone is starting" is usually only shown after an update has applied. Your phone is probably thinking that an update is finishing up on every boot for to some unfinished code not applying properly. If the message gets to be too annoying, you're going to want to manually flash the HOME_CSC for the same or most recent update and see if that fixes it. If it doesn't, then flash the CSC as it will factory reset your phone
Ι managed to fix it with a factory reset..

so this morning i had a message saying update was available on my tab 8.4 wifi so i figured root was a little useless on my tab anyways i would update it. now i keeps looping into installing system update .... then recovery ... then back to installing system update..
i tried to interupt the loop with putting it into download mode but keeps going into recovery and installing system update.
any suggestions?

Did you have custom recovery installed? If so, OTAs require stock recovery, and that is why you looped.
I purchased a 5x for my wife so she can get on Project Fi. They said it was stuck boot looping, thinking I could solve the problem.
Here are the basics.
-Yes, I can get into boot loader (the menu of start, recovery, etc), but I can't get into TWRP. Tried flashing TWRP a few times and nothing. SkipSoft recognizes that its installed though.
-After bootlooping for awhile, it will load normally and work fine. However it wants to update to the newest version of android. I run the ota and back to bootlooping. It will show the android dude and say "error". Will eventually start bootlooping and then boot normally.
-I have flashed different stock versions. I tried the newest, the second to newest and the last M available. All will flash but continue the bootlooping.
Bootlooping can be anywhere from 1 minute to 10+.
The device will also first display something like, "Your device software can't be checked for corruptions. Please lock the bootloader"
But it'll show up whether the bootloader is locked or not.
The phone will freeze at some point. Whether right away or after 5 minutes. It freezes and then restarts and goes through the bootloop again.
So what else can/should I do? I've never dealt with Kernels but wondering if the last owner did something to them. Is there a way to flash stock kernels just incase or is this done when I flash a Google Factory Stock Image?
Would flashing a non-stock rom be a good idea?
Thanks
So I tried sideloading. I was able to get into the stock recovery. I tried wiping cache and data, then tried installing the newest stock rom.
Everything seemed to work. Then I had to restart. A message popped up after the same "Your device software can't be checked for corruptions. Please lock the bootloader". It had the title in blue stating "Encryption unsuccessful".
Then said, "Encryption was interrupted and can't complete. As a result, the data on your phone is no longer accessible. To resume using your phone you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account."
Then there is a single button that says, "Reset Phone".
Problem still persists.
Help please...
Why did you bought a bootlooped phone?

When my Nexus 5x got into bootloop, I sent it to LG and they had to change the whole circuit. So yeah.
When you flash Google Factory Image, it flash the stock kernel.
If you have warranty, then send it to Google/LG. If you haven't got, then you're in problem. New motherboard needed, but it's expensive.
See the following thread for more info.

What consequences?
Hardware bootloop can't be fix by software.

Exactly. Everyone has either been able to get a replacement under warranty or was pretty much screwed if it was out of warranty.

Almost I got no bootloop even no random reboot nexus 5x's state
Hi, I was rooted Magisk and twrp installed, I kept getting a notification of an update but just kept ignoring it. About the same time my phone started dropping signal all the time so I thought it might have something to do with the update. I went back to full stock 27.1 . When I try to get the update it downloads it and when it gets ready to install it says working in the background it shows a progress bar for a sec then pops up a screen telling me that something went wrong and update failed and nothing was changed and i just click ok. I get no type of error messages or any thing explaining what the problem is. As of right im not rooted or any custom rom or recovery installed just bootloader unlocked, SO what did I do wrong and how do I fix it???
When you say you went back to stock, do you mean you factory reset or you went as far as doing the flash-all?

I did the flash-all...
I too did a flash all after installing the OTA, now I can't install the OTA anymore.
I have T-Mobile Galaxy S9, not rooted. Recent OTA update g960usqs2arf4 fails to install. It boots into the flashing screen with android logo, the progress bar gets to 30% and then it says "Error". I tried wiping cache partition but it did not solve the problem. I really want to avoid factory reset ... Maybe I can install it via PC?
Still stuck at this. It attempts to update roughly once a week and always fails and sends report to Samsung. Any suggestions?
Hi everyone, so long story short. my galaxy A50(SM-A505GN) was suddenly in a bootloop.
long story, the phone is doing just fine, everything works well. I was in a middle of a call when it suddenly froze then restarted itself an then voila it's stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy A50 secured by Knox powered by android" Logo WHICH never shows up on startup before. it only shows the samsung logo on startup before, there is a pending update on the notification bar but I have not installed it yet so I don't think that is the culprit. no apps installed before the boot loop. if you need any more info about the phone that I might have missed just mention it. I'll try to answer it the best that I can.
Things I have tried:
wipe cache
wipe data and cache
flash latest stock rom (dumb thing won't let me downgrade)
things the phone can do:
go into recovery mode ONLY if the USB is plugged to a PC/laptop
go into download mode from recovery mode
force restart with volume down + power button
it is still on boot loop even after flashing the stock rom. Is there anything I can do to this phone WITHOUT returning it to Samsung, because we all know why that idea sucks. btw, I live in the Southeast Asia region where the warranty for mobile phone is sooo bad.
more than willing to flash custom ROM into it just so it could return to being usable but unfortunately I can't unlock the bootloader without the doing the OEM unlocking thing on dev options. any suggestion on how I could fix this damn phone would be so much appreciated. I really can't afford a new one right now. Thank you.
This happened with me too. Did you update the security patch which came in as OTA update ?
I think this happened because of the security patch.
