[Q] Get Google Play into Chinese Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210) from Linux

Good day to you ladies and gentlemen. I will get straight to the point:
I recently purchased a Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5210) in China, and it comes with no Google Play.
I have tried installing the apks for Google Services Framework and Google Play, but as soon as I try to add my Google account (as requested by Google Play on first run), I get the "Unable to establish a reliable connection" to Google servers error. If I try to create an account from the settings panel, the settings program stops working. Google Services Framework also likes to crash seemingly at random.
I have tried getting a western firmware into it, but since I do not have a Windows box, and I haven't been able to get Odin to work on Virtual Box, no such luck. Heimdall doesn't seem to properly communicate with the tablet. Is there a way to do "Odin work" with adb and company?
So that's two questions, but what I would really like to ask is: what are my options? I just want my Google Play account on this beautiful tablet.
On a related note, how is the work on rooting the GT-P5210 coming along? Is there anything I can do to help? I have experience as a developer in general (not Android specific though), and I would be glad to help.
Thank you all for reading through this post
EDIT: I also couldn't find any custom recoveries for the Tab 3, are there none? That way I would be able to install a gapps .zip, maybe...
I finally solved this on my own. Anyone facing a similar situation, follow this and you will be signing in to google in no time: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44615378#post44615378
Galaxy Tab 3 from Chna
Hello tjohnman,
I also buyed last week a galaxy tab 3 10.1 here in china and have the same problem.
I have already rooted the tab and also found some how to´s for installing the google framework
and the app store for example
worlwideweb.androidpit.de/de/android/forum/thread/413743/Android-Market-Auf-X2-G
, but it works only more or less. Some of the google apps are running now but the most important
the google play store still didn´t run.
Maybe I only take the wrong software or I don´t know.
Can you tell me what exactly you have done to install the play store???
My Tab is:
GT-p5200
Android Vers. 4.2.2
Kernel 3.4.34-1216049
Has somebody a good idea or can tell me which software I have to use.
Thx for your hepl.
Solved the problem

Only with testing it was possible to find the solution.
Has anybody a good idea?

[Q] Specific and Urgent Query regarding App Updates via

Hi guys, I hope someone can help me with my stated query
I recently installed aptoide because I wanted to update an older version of KICK by Samsung (it's unavailable in my country on the Play Store) and found its possible through aptoide, I want to know if I update an app that is currently unavailable for my device due to region locks and the like, when a newer version is available, will I be able to update from the Play Store or have I lost that right by updating through aptoide?
Please answer as I need to know, I've updated many Google apps from aptoide as it currently isn't available in my country(ZA) and I don't want to lose Play Store functionality.
Thanks in advance to anyone who has the slightest idea on the matter

For me as you have not installed an application through the Play store it will not offer you any upgrade for this application but it will carry on offering updates for the applications installed through the play store.
But in another hand Aptoide will offer updtes for the applications it has installed.

Just the Google store thing -_- drive me mad

I just got my new huawei matepad pro
As any human I just open the box and start update the OS to the last update
Then I got that big problem in the store thing
I tried so many ways to solved but still nothing
I am now in 10.1.181
My base software is : MRX-LGRP2-OVS 10.1.181
And I am really start to think about dump this tablet becouse of this Google store problem
So please till me how can I fix it
At the moment the only thing you can do is to install Google Services with googlefier. For this you need to downgrade your MatePad to version 10.1.0.120. After downgrading you can install all the google services.
Googlefier lets you easily install Google apps on Huawei and Honor devices (xda-developers.com)

Downgrading and installing GMS - IMPOSSIBLE

Hi,
I bought MRX-W09 with keyboard and stylus. I was convinced that it was very easy to install the play store. I have tried to make many attempts but with no results.
I currently have version 11.0.0.212 installed and there is no way I can downgrade.
Can someone help me?
Thank you.

carwebguru not installing onto Android 10.0 car head unit

Hi
I'm new to this forum and groups so please take it easy with me if I'm about to ask a sill question.
I have just got myself a Andriod 10.0 Car head unit and the current Launcher is not to good and I'm unable to configure this to my liking.
I have been looking around and thought I would try to install the carwebguru launcher .apk but I keep getting an error when I try to install it. Error reads there was a problem parsing the package. this is also happening with all the launchers I have tried with.
I have tried side loading this also to no avail.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

Parsing error is usually when you are trying to install from "an unknown/untrusted source".
Turn on "allow install from unknown source" or simply download and install directly from google play store.
CarWebGuru Car Launcher - Apps on Google Play
Car launcher with themes, widgets, music control, gps tracker, and customization

Hi Bob
Thank you for reply to my issue
It was from google play store i first tried and got error.
I'm not sure where i would see the option about allowing unknown sources as i have looked in the settings and couldn't locate it.
I remember having to do this on my Amazon fire stick but that was easy to locate the setting but not on this android car unit
Is unit an MTCD/E/P etc?

Post MCU version from your head unit.
The forum posted in discussed "MTCD" type.
