I don't know about anyone else but I actually find this super annoying, and it doesn't make sense that it does this with the always on display on which I find super useful.
I have tried turning off the smart screen settings, and playing around with the options in settings but this is happening continuously. Does anyone know how to turn this off please?

You should be able to turn it off in settings/advanced features/motions and gestures/lift to wake.

I am looking for a program for three days, because I did not think he would be useful.
The program actually turned off the light sensor when the screen was turned on.
I noted that when i stay in the front of the light it make the brightness goes down, and i want it stays "freezed" after the screen is on.
So, if anyone knows where can I find this program (I've seen, but do not even know if it was in this forum) please show me a link
I will be eternally greatfull to everyone in here, and i want to thank you before because it's a great place with lots of useful information.

Thank's for the answer, but no, it's not that one, the one i saw, turn the light sensor automatically when the screen turn on, ONLY deactivates when the screen is on.
I'm still looking for it, if someone find it i would thank that person too.
Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I can't for the life of my get my screen to not timeout after 15 seconds or so. I have the "Screen Timeout" setting set to 10 minutes and I turned Smart Stay off as I believe that was the culprit originally and it doesn't matter. If I don't touch the thing for a few, the screen turns off...and it DRIVES ME NUTS!! I HATE when the screen turns off when I don't tell it to. At least when Smart Stay was on it would stay on when I was looking at it. Now it doesn't matter. No touch, no on.
Am I missing something? There HAS to be a way to get the screen to stop timing out...
Do you a have the lock screen turned on? If so, check the timing on it.

That got it. Thank you. Strange they'd essentially over ride settings between menus. Oh well. Thanks again.
Hi!
My Desire Eye's home screen has been rotating whenever I slightly tilt it since this morning and no, the Auto Rotation mode is not enabled. I did a soft reset but still the screen keeps rotating, and I can't find any solutions for it anywhere.
Usually, when Auto Rotate is ON it rotates almost every apps' screens but never the home screen or menu screen. When I woke up today somehow the Car mode was turned ON, but I exited it without doing anything else. I wonder if it caused something to change in my phone.
Does anyone know how to fix this? You'd save a life. :crying:

Yes, I'm sure.
Anyone else have this issue? Whenever I disable it, it turns back on as soon as screen times out. Only thing I can do as a temporary fix is set it to schedule for 7:00am-7:01 am
Even with the tap to show option on?
I have mine set to tap to show and it stays off.

It's switching to show always on it's own. And when I turn it off completely, it will switch it self back on. The only setting that sticks is when I set it to a schedule.

Just check that you do not have a Bixby routine, running in the background, that turns it on.

I do
AOD notify relies Precisely on AOD, I think that is the cause of the behaviour you describe

That seems to be it, thanks! It's funny though. I changed a setting in AOD notify and now my stock aod keeps turning off, the opposite of what is was doing.
Hey Guys,
So something very annoying I've noticed so far since owning this phone. I could have it laying on the table/counter, whatever. I have lift to wake and any other motion related setting to turn the screen on disabled, however, if I so much as nudge my phone while it's sitting the screen will always wake. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there some other hidden setting I've yet to disable and need to? Is it a glitch or something? Appreciate any ideas or suggestions.
Thanks!
You are not the only one observing this behavior. I believe it's a software glitch. It's has been mentioned on other forums as well.
I don't think it's a glitch. People have said the "fix" is to turn off fingerprint option. So I'm thinking it's actually a feature to turn on the screen so it's ready for your finger print. It's different than lift to wake because it only shows the Always On Display. Lift to wake, goes past the Always On Display and to the lock screen. I've tested it in my pocket and it's stays fully off.

It's a feature not a bug
There is doze_quick_pickup_gesture option that you can set via adb. Just setup adb shell (google how to do it if you don't have it), then enable developer options on your phone (google it too), then connect your phone to your PC and execute this command in the shell:
shell settings put secure doze_quick_pickup_gesture 0
It worked for me! Borrowed from here:

Interesting. I noticed that my AOD is always on, even though I have set it to be disabled when charging.
Maybe Adaptive Sound has something to do with that? 'Cuz I enabled that.

Yes i think its a bug when adaptive sound is on and it hears loud sounds, ot turns the screen on. Just try banging the desk or hitting two spoons when near your phone with adaptive sound on and off... The screen lights up when its ON bit doesn't when its off
I am having just the opposite effect. I lift my phone and nothing happens. I have to click my power button for it to go on sometimes.
If you refer to Lift to check BLACK SCREEN It is a feature for easy to use fingerprint so that very helpful for me

Can't disable Lift To Wake
The screen turns on when I lift the phone. (Black and white lock screen.) "Lift to wake" and "Tap to Check" are both off.
