samsung watch active 2 in swimming pool - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi guys ,
i got a samsung watch active 2 steel with leather bracelets. i know this watch is waterproof but can i use it in swimming pool with this kind of bracelets.

yes use water touch sensor mode
Sent from my SM-M305F using Tapatalk

With this kind of bracelets?

I wouldn't advise it. Leather will not go well with long immersion in water. It will be ok for a splash or two but not for swimming.
Plenty of alternative silicon straps on Amazon & eBay (and quick to switch which is what I do when I go for a swim)

No idea if this Thread is helpfull...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch/galaxy-watch/gwa2-dead-swimming-t3992911
If out of luck... bracelets maybe alive longer as the watch.
Best Regards

Use silicone as mentioned for the swim...

Has been using GW for a swim many many times, still running fine for me.
Just beware of sea water.

There are many cheap third party straps out there. Buy a new one if broken.

Life Proof Case

Hey guys I have some good news. I emailed Life proof asking if they have plans for making their case for the S3 and new iPhone and this is the response I received:
Thank you for your email. Our LifeProof design team is hard at work designing cases and accessories that can accommodate the majority of devices and applications out there, including other smartphone platforms such as the Android, HTC, Galaxy and others. You can stay updated on all of our product updates and releases via our Facebook Fan page at http://www.facebook.com/lifeproofcases. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
So hopefully it shouldn't be too long before we see some of these cases hit the market. Or at least get some news.

While I would be all over a case from lifeproof, I wouldn't get your hopes up. That response is the same canned one they have been sending out for months. They keep saying they are working on other phone brands, but have yet to come out with anything. They even posted pretty much the same thing on their Facebook Page like 8 or 9 months ago.
Try SGP products, such as Argos providing full protection. It's a vertical-flip leather casing. It also gives a pure leathery feel.

The sgp stuff is nice, but many people are looking for a waterproof solution for kayaking, snowboarding, etc. Leather isn't exactly up to the task.

You know a lot of people say that, and if I were just paddling on a lake or hanging on the bunny slope that would probably offer enough protection. (its what I do when I go to the beach) I really don't think that would even come close to the kind of coverage I would need for my uses though. Class 5 Rapids and zip lock baggies are not exactly the best of friends.
Right now I just leave my phone in my car or stick it in my dry bag and bring a waterproof Panasonic camera, and I am fine with that. It would be nice to have a lifeproof type option though, and I would be willing to pay for it.

If your looking for a waterproof solution and are able to go a few days without your phone or have a back-up check out www.liquipel.com
I originally had my Nexus S treated by Golden Shellback, but they nolonger offer individual sales. but was referred to liquipel as they do a similar treatment.
Ive yet to use liquipel but LOVED the treatment Shellback did on my Nexus.
Basically they nano coated the components of your device so rather then blocking water from getting into your phone, this treatment waterproofs the components and allows the water to flow freely thru your device without causing damage to it.
If you go this route, when you get your phone back just throw it into whatever case you want n your golden.
Why exactly do you need your phone in class 5 Rapids? Texting?

pictures, gps or god forbid something happens and you need to make an emergency phone call ?
Pictures, video, gps, music. No cell reception on the river, have to radio a Ranger station if anything goes wrong. Supposedly US Cellular just got a big grant to greatly expand cell coverage across the less populated parts of Maine, may eventually be able to text from on the water
I have read about liquipel and it sounds pretty good. It is more designed for accidental drops and splashes though it isn't truly waterproof.
A lifeproof case also seems like it would be toddler proof, that would be nice too!

Yeah I'm tempted to try liquipel, but I'm still attempting to persuade Golden Shellback to do it for me since I'm a 3x repeat customer.
Their process is similar to what liquipel does, but rather then putting the device as a whole into the chamber GSB disassembles the devices first to ensure every component is coated thoroughly during the bonding process

Waterproof case that allows camera use

Hi All,
I'm going on holiday soon to a sunny island and will be out at sea...
Was wondering if there's a case on the market with a see through back that would allow me to use the S3 under water? If so could you please post me a link to where I could buy one?

You can only use it once though and i think you can have it underwater for around 30 min.

Ive never heard of that company "Protector F" the one from amazon ive seen several videos on people actually test it so if it were me i would go with something i trust if my phones going under water.
Easy old trick is a sandwich bag and a little silicone. I know fishermen friends who did that with the Motorola bricks back in the day. But your real issue is the capacitive touch screen. It'll probably not pick up your fingers. Ever tried to use your phone with a drop on the screen? Tends to throw it off.

Geez, $40? IMO, for that kind of price, I think it would be beneficial cost wise to use the sandwich bag gimmick as stated above but find someone with one of those airtight bag sealers to protect the device furthermore. That's pretty much what that dry case is anyway, just in a more easy to use, continual usage, professional looking wrap.

hmm looks nice.. i used to wrap my cellphone using plastic bag when I'm planning to do activity with high water risk.
I asked the same question before, and end up buying something else...http://www.lelong.com.my/waterproof...acket-wallet-bag-106082307-2012-05-Sale-P.htm (fits perfectly and quite cheap)
Must get 1 with the Lanyard as you don't want your Note to swim with the fishes under the sea... (no kidding, it almost happened to me since you might not be able to hold it well with the waterproof pouch)
I took it to Maldives to take photos/video while snorkeling and the result is quite satisfactory.
But do bare in mind that with the case on, your Note touch screen will not function underwater.
> To take photo, u will need to make sure the camera apps have function to assign buttons to take photo.
> To take video, you will have to start recording above water level before diving in...
Hope that helps...

Bought this one http://dx.com/p/waterproof-bag-case-w-3-5mm-earphone-armband-strap-for-samsung-i9220-black-143197 but have not causes to test it in real conditions.
Hate to say it but it dosnt mater what case you use, once its under water the touch screen wont work.... you have to use video and start it out of the water.. something to do with water and conduction etc. I use an aquapac one on my kayak when im fishing. http://store.aquapac.net/small-whanganui-case-348-16.html
waterproof spray
There was a watterproof spray... just spray on the device and you're done - I've seen a video about someone disassembling his phone, spraying every component and pour watter on the motherboard, it was like it's oil and watter, but how about the connector of the batteries ? if the phone it was not design to be watterproof... well, not very easy to mod if not having the right tool

Waterproof Cases

Has anybody found a waterproof case for the One yet? I'm looking for something similar to LifeProof for the iPhone or Otterbox's Armor series. It doesn't need extraordinary depth protection, just a few feet for use in the pool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's not available to the public yet, unfortunately. Says that it would be added during the manufacturing process. It would be awesome if companies started using this tech!
Selling 1 Black Nillkin, 1 Gray Rock Case, 1 White Rock Case in a bundle..
Changed my mind about getting the phone.
Ships From the USA so you wont have to wait 2 weeks to get it...

I posted this before somewhere and I got laughed at just because I wanted to reddit in the shower. Made the Z so tempting but it's not coming out in the US so it made my One decision easier. Haha.
I just read into it a little but how does that HzO stuff work. The way it seems is it just puts a waterproof bond in every crease and crack. But that would ruin the speaker/grille as well as mess up the buttons so I'm sure that's not how it works. Anyone understand it better than I that would care to explain?

According to their website, this is not true. I was all excited there for a minute. My NS4G spent a night in a cup of water once. It still works just fine but I can't help but think I used any and all good phone karma right then and there.

So, I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this yet, but there is another trinket of info that points to the book cover being actively sensed by this tablet. When poking around in settings, I happened across this little feature.

Man, Samsung does not make it easy. They need to support their products more. iPad 5 will have about a million accessories all over the place.

Samsung has had a terrible launch for its S-Note line. I've had my Note 3 for over a week and still no sign of official accessories anywhere whether in-store or at Amazon.
Same for the note 10.1 2014.
If you want to charge these high prices you better provide an apple-esque experience and that means no headaches for anything including finding accessories.

I was able to get a genuine S-View cover from Verizon, but only through telesales, not online or in the store.
Is that advertised anywhere? No.
Does Samsung's official site list any covers or cases? No.
They suck so bad at accessories. It's ridiculous.
Yeah Samsung's last few product launches have been the same, no accessories until a few weeks after.

I can confirm it does wake the tablet. I don't have the smart cover, but I do have a keyboard with a "smart cover"that turns it on and off. Placing it over the screen, or even on the back, trips the magnetometer, putting the tablet to sleep. Removing it wakes it up into a quick note/dashboard type of program.
I bought a sleeve that is actually for an iPad and daynote does work. It's not working every time but every now and again I'm presented with a special screen after removing the note from its sleeve.
Best Buy tells me it will be in stock this week. Either with their Monday shipment or Thursday shipment.
We'll see. Given that their Samsung Experience employees didn't even know it was releasing the week before it did, I don't put much stock into what they say.

Before you try any magnet cases, test if the digitizer survives it. i had one on my note 8.0 and it had a big impact on the wacom digitizer, when drawing i would get close to 10mm of offset or the area around the magnet didn't work at all. When i noticed this i immediately performed a little surgery and now the case is a dumb piece of leather. Luckily i noticed it pretty quickly so i got no permanent damage. I'm not sure if permanent damage CAN be done with such a weak magnet, but look out

Wow seriously? This kind of scares me as I am using the Moko case. But you know I don't think the Note 8.0 was made to be utilized with a magnet. Seeing that the Note 10.1 2014 is made to wake up with the use of a magnet, I think they made have designed it to be magnet friendly.
I could eb wrong, because I returned my Note 8.0
Yes, you might be right but look out. You dont want a tablet thats at a higher price because of something that breaks because of you not using a correct case.
Ps. In the second sentence "you" is meant for everyone and not to offend Slim

On the Note 3, the "View" cover uses a Hall effect sensor I have read.
What I noticed about this cover is that it seems to cover the camera when it is folded over the back??

Nope, they don't really know release dates on anything. I've been asking the Samsung guy about Note 3 cases, he tells me a day, and they never come in.
Was just over at BB today, asking him if they had the cases, when another lady came up and wanted to know also. WTF, is up with Samsung and the slow releases of these accessories for both Note 3 and 10.1??

Heh! Yeah you're right!
Here's what I was thinking when I said that.
The magnet can be on either side. So not necessarily on the cover. "Could" be steel on the cover, but probably not.
Like for instance, I am putting a hall sensor on a Motorcycle presently. The magnet is in the sensor itself. The trigger wheel is steel.
So steel goes through the field and causes the trigger.
But it seems that the magnet here "should" be on the cover. Otherwise all steel would trigger the sensor and screw with the display.
I did run a magnet near my screen and couldn't get it to switch even after fooling with the S-View settings.
