am i missing a box in developer options or something? i cant find anywhere to check a box that allows the phone to download software updates over cell connection. Is this even possible?

Yeah I found out that this is not possible and many people have complained. Hopefully Samsung will listen and add the feature in a future update. Also I noticed you are now a forum moderator. Congrats

thanks man! after thinking about it, the amount of little unnoticeable interruptions in cell data might cause the firmware to corrupt over cell connections whereas wifi is FAR more reliable. Well, usually... LoL i can understand why they do it that way after pondering about it for a bit.
but yeah, i look forward to helping out as a mod where i can this forum has given me so much, im glad to give back!

Hay guys I'm new here so please forgive me if this has already been addressed but I could not find anything on this matter . I'm trying to get full web access with t-zones using the settings on the Dash Wiki and can't seem to get it to work . Does this work around still work ? Or am I just doing something wrong ? Thanks in advance for you help .
Use the search feature at the top right of the forum. It will help you find what you are looking for.....
Too many of these threads already floating around, searchig would be more proper.
Still workin just fine for me, as stated above hit search for some step by steps...That question has prolly been asked as much as God is asked "why...?".

and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and it should be there

I wonder if T-Mobile has started to turn it off...?
I know that T-Zones works for me here in Boulder, CO. If I drive down to Denver, though, it doesn't work anymore. I haven't tested any place else yet (since I haven't been anywhere else lately, lol), but I'm already starting to wonder if it's going away...

Change your phone on the site to a V3 RAZR or the like.. The option should pop up then to use T-zones.
ah, good idea. i'll give that a try! thanks

it sometimes taks 24-48 hours for the provisioning of those services to take effect
i made the changes on thursday i think! very odd.
I was wondering if is there any chance to make this work by sending an sms.
I need it to be on as i pretend to use a GPS tracking software to track my phone in case of lost or being robbed.
That software can be activated with an sms but if the gps and the data plan is not ative it is not gonna broadcast live positioning and so on
I guess my phone is goona need root permissions but i can't be so complicated if someone has got some development skills
It'd be so much appreciated!
thank you
Try WaveSecure.
it is not about software man, i need to turn on 3g and gps if not enabled, that's the quid!
thx

doesn't support gps at all.
it is possible, there is an app called locservice on the market, as long as it installed in /system/app it can enable the gps triggered by a sms. maybe the dev can help you, or you just use the app to turn it on and then do whatever you like...
Its not possible to do it in code, android removed this in the cupcake update, not sure if thats what your asking but anyway...

When I was an Orange customer, I had to ask them to turn off safeguard, PURELY FOR XDA AND NOTHING ELSE .
They did tell me that there's a page on their site where you can add a URL for a site that you believe should not be blocked, and they'll look into it. Since I was getting it turned off on my phone I never looked into it. If you do look into this, make sure you use the forum subdomain (forum.xda-developers.com, not www.xda-developers.com). It'll probably just go off the domain name, but better safe than sorry.
You could be responsible for fixing the issue for ALL xda users on Orange!

can i ask whether this is with the phone you are browsing or using a mobile broadband dongle
ok
i had this trouble when i first used xda
the sloution is
for mobile broadband dongle
change the APN
if you can find it it should say orangeinternet, change this to consumerbroadband and voila
xda is unlocked
now for the phone
if you find its once worked but stopped then delete everything from opera
ire cache, cookie and history
then turn off phone and remove sim card
then once it back in it should work if this doesnt then alll i can suggest is going to
sart / settings / connections / connections
then make sure it says orange internet at the top of the screen
click on mange my existing connections
on the next screen , a tab called modem, make sure orange internet is selected from list then click edit
you should then get a screen saying enter a name for the connection, leave this as it is
then press next
this one should say access point name
and ir should say orangeinternet
change this to consumerbroadband
click next then finish
you should now be able to browse xda on you phone

Thanks for your help pilot your a gentleman and a scholar
well ill admit i'm a scholar but i am in no way a gentleman
but i appreciate the compliment regardless
im new using windows mobile and im looking for an applications to make calls international any information about that
uhmmm, not sure where to start with this.
I could go with:
You just dial the number you want with the country and area code and push send. Talk and then pay the bill when you get it.
or
Get Skype and use Internet based calling. There is a cost to this as well I believe.
or
It is a windows based phone. There is no hack to allow free phone calls to other places without the carrier allowing it and thus billing you for it.
Maybe a little more information on what you want to do would be helpful. You sort of said " I have a new car so how do I get to Vegas?"

Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
The questions was vague and poorly composed (just like your subsequent responses). That's why you didn't get a proper answer to your question.
I'm having trouble connecting to the data even though I'm connected to the carrier services.
I'm able to make calls and access to texting. Any one else got similar issues?
I have to use my WiFi to use the internet.

The rm5g has many issues, this one of them. Its really a shame. Im sending mine back.
My issues with the device are the fact it claims to have band 66 support but only connects to 2 or 4 around me. 66 is much faster

It has no b66, check the website. The idiots removed it. 66penetrates buildings better too. I will be returning this piece of garbage, and getting a rog3 when it comes out.
Quick shortcut maker is my friend
Ok, short and sweet and to the point. Until or unless you root this thang. Quick shortcut maker is my friend since the lg g3. Network issues. Use it. No root use it. This is a wonderfull tool. So that being said there is the device info where you can choose network, hint to you is choose unknown. And on the other menus it unlocks choose global. Well it's kinda that easy. But you just gotta fool with it. You knew it was coming when you bought this phone. So buck up and just do it
---------- Post added at 11:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:08 PM ----------
If your like me you love this stuff. I try to get any phone I can that the networks can't chase. Call it old habits. And I'm gonna say I love this phone and I loved the rm3. I knew when I bought this phone what I started. I also bought it less then red magic sells it for and hot it on April 20 th. It's full on Chinese rom. Ver. 2.46. red magic support says mid May we will finally have a global rom. Liars I say. But get out that quick shortcut maker and shortcut master. And mess with it. Oh it's radio info. My bad. Set the network to unknown. It's the only way I could get data, mms, internet and phone calls every other setting either gave me phone no data, or data no phone. But unknown gave me both and click the 5g on.

..I also try to manually add or change APN..but seems not possibly to key in needed info...
Try putting roaming on. Works for me in Sweden.
same issue here cannot get the mobil data to work but the calls work any idea what the issue is (sweden aswell)
