Folks, If I wish to restore from a backup taken using recovery after flashing a ROM, is it a simple case of booting it recovery, factory wipe, clear caches, then restore the backup I took prior to flashing ? I'm trying to back out from Revolution HD to get my original APN settings.
Thanks in advance.
there maybe a problem with kernel if u r trying to downgrade.

1) Extract boot.img from the backup on your SD card
2) Boot into Recovery and restore backup (no need to wipe).
3) Reboot straight into the bootloader and flash the boot.img file you extracted.
4) Reboot device.
I am getting an error saying Unsuccessful Encryption after restoring from a Nandroid Backup of Stock OOS 4.7.6. I was on Omnirom 8.1.
Is there any way to get past this?
Install first Stock OOS 4.7.6 and boot it, and after try to restore Nandroid Backup. Not Format Data after boot 4.7.6 stock
Thanks, Although I have updated to the latest version and copied the backup I had on my PC. I wonder why this happened since the Nandroid backups make an image of the whole partition.
What partitions to backup and what to restore in order to go full stock after trying a custom ROM
So I couldn't boot into the ROM and made a TWRP backup of my data partition and then reflashed the ROM. Now can I restore apps from TWRP backup using titanium backup? If so, how? Some googling showed that it was possible but I cannot find the option in Titanium backup. Please help.
When you flash a rom and encounter a major problem..ex: bootloop, brick, apocalypse. Do you flash your backup in twrp? What should I backup in twrp?
GSI Roms...flash, no flash, or keep looking?
nevermind..i just backed up to main and rebooted phone, transferred backup to pc.
