We can probably safely say March or April. Oh well.
All kidding aside: llabtoofer just said within the next 3 weeks all you guys in Europe should have it. Enjoy

Nougat is not ready for prime time. Not impressed at all. My custom MM rom works perfectly. I tried Nougat. Uninstalled.
Looks like soon it would be the US unlocked users getting angry : why the heck we're using a buggy version??
Even now it's EU users are complaining : when the heck could we taste nougat...??

I have the US unlocked model and I'm using the latest firmware with Maximus HD and ElementalX installed, no complains at all so far the stock ROM was also fine the few weeks I used it

Maximus HD is based on leaked EU update. And I am not talking about that.
Maybe you haven't seen what does the dev of Maximus say about the upcoming EU OTA?
No one has specified what "buggy" even means... is it something minor like a laggy UI or a major security vulnerability like stagefright?
*bugs* is a bull excuse in regards to no updates
while while they're fixing these bugs *with N then why didnt they continue to update our devices on MM with the monthly security updates ?
Europe unlocked devices haven't had an update since October & that came with the august 2016 security patch what happened too September, November , December, January
this fixed version of N will be out in February according to llabtoofer will likely be 7.0, we probably wont see 7.1 until spring (htc ultra hasn't even released yet & thats on 7.0)

I'm taking about you said US users now will be angry about why they were left with a buggy firmware, and I'm telling you I used it with the stock ROM and I'm not angry about it. He said the EU build was more stable, that doesn't mean that the US was a bad build though and yes, it may be based on such firmware but I'm using it with the US one

Come on man, I am not saying US update isn't good. I am saying compare to EU update, US one is less responsive and less smooth. Been treated differently might make some users angry. #sense of humour#...
I am sure the US will also get the equivalent matching update around the same time
7.0 has been a mess, and even 7.1.1 has alot of problems, even on nexus/pixel devices. It would suck to be on 7.x and have that 30% battery bugg that alot of people experience. And thats just the obvious buggs.
7.x does not offer enough of a upgrade to make it worth having a buggy release. Esp if one is stuck with that buggy version for months.
I have the Nougat update on my T-Mobile HTC 10 completely stock not rooted and have experienced a few bugs.the day after I updated I took a picture and the phone froze went into a reboot and actually rebooted itself 4 times before it went back into the system. Had a random reboot another time and had an instance where my phone would not charge but a reboot fixed the issue

And please remember there's no OS nor app is bug free in the world. It is an excuse but also the truth.
I bought iPhone 7 last just want to experience a "smooth OS", but it freezed while taking a picture, battery drops very quickly and phone got every hot randomly... So yeah, back to HTC.

I tried N for a bit on Viper and had bad battery drain so I went back to MM and still had that battery drain, I found out Facebook has been causing bad battery so I uninstalled it and Messenger and seems to be much better. I was wondering if Facebook was my issue on N as well or if it was Android N causing it. Guess I will stick with MM for now.
I've been on Nougat for some time now (unlocked) and I have noticed any issues. What exactly is the problem?

Is your device US unlocked ? Do all your apps that auto sync or update do so while you're using battery saver, or while you're on data? Only way I can get gmail and other similarly syncing apps is on Wi-Fi without using battery saver

i meant to say that I haven't noticed any issues, but clearly you understood me. ?
Anyway, I get push gmail notifications as usual, no issues there. I'm almost always only on mobile data, and rarely ever use battery saver. I have an unlocked stock US model.
The only minor issue I've noticed is that sometimes I don't get notified of whatsapp messages (via the notification shade), if multiple are received at around the same time.
The only bug i've found was in the Settings.
If you enter it, press back button and then try to enter again, it'll take some seconds to show up.
Everything else is ok.

Any idea about the stable pie update,as in how long it might take!
I believe it's already been released..
OpenBeta to be exact. Been using now and didn't notice any problems (for now) battery life seems ok.. still observing it.
I'm on miui 10 i. I didn't update to miui 11 because of bad comments on miui 11. People say it's worse than miui 10(about battery drain). Is it true or not. Do you guys suggest me to update or not? I get 10 hours screen on time on miui 10 how is it on miui 11!?
Working fine for me.

It's about the same, if not better than MIUI 10. Take the update, it has security improvements and other fixes.
Update, if you're planning to stay on MIUI. Battery looks better to me, other than having newest security patches.
Yes, i can confirm miui 11 does drain battery fast than 10:crying: (updated for a few days now)
I buyed this phone on the first week when it was released... So I know the long term experience!
After the andriod 10 ota update released many features were introduced and we all love the andriod 10 ! That much but this is where the fun begins.. ! After the ota update I don't know exactly how many month passed , but now my phone is stated to lag on apps ,games and multitasking...
For example andriod pie (9)
we got extreme frame rate on pubg and there was zero lag and rendering was that good no complain about that but after andriod 10 it feels laggy and we couldn't experience that smooth play
So I decided to downgrade my one action to andriod 9
And now I successfully feel the smoothness and fast performance
If anyone interested in downgrading
Comment below ill post the full procedure of unlocking boot loader and flashing android pie (9)
If you don't mind posting the steps that would be awesome. I've tried a couple times but I think my problem is Im using XT2013-4 ...
I have to ask, is battery drain better on Android 9? Cause 10 drains pretty quick.
Also I unlocked my phone already but others my need details for unlocking.
Thanks in advance!
IDK, if you are willing to go through all this trouble, perhaps you should first try full factory reset without restoring apps (clean install, new settings) first?

Hello,I will soon be receiving a Redmi Note 8 Pro from a friend and I immediately started searching for a custom rom to use.I have narrowed it down to 3 and would like your help choosing one. What I'm looking for mostly is a smooth rom that will still be receiving updates.
What I wanted the most is Lineage OS(since I use it on my Rn6p and I love it) but the device was not supported ,however recently someone built it(unofficially).
You can see it here: https://t.me/RedmiNote8ProOfficial/923501
He mentioned in the comments that he will be updating it once a month which I guess is good enough.
Now my other 2 choices are Corvus OS and Pixel Experience which are both official.
So does anyone has experience with any of these roms to share with me?Thanks a lot in advance and sorry if I somehow broke a rule,it's my first time posting.
I'd go PE+

I don't think the LineageOS FE you posted has a working front camera.
I personally use PE+ from May (the release from July has some serious battery drain courtesy of Xiaomi MIUI 12.5.x buggy release).

The lineage version i posted is not the FE one. It's original but unofficial release.
How often does PE+ gets updates?

Indeed, it's not the FE. I'm a fan of LineageOS and I'm going read more about it.
PE/PE+ usually gets updates about once a month.

If you find anything important about it and it's not too much trouble inform me too please because I haven't been able to find anything about it.
If it gets updated once a month I like it, though if that LineageOS turns out to be good, PE+ would still be my 2nd choice.

Biggest issue for me right now is the battery drain in the latest release (July), so that's why I've downgraded to the May release.
Once the battery drain issue is fixed I'll go back to using the latest version.
I might try that LineageOS release too.
