I have the Pixel 2 XL.
I've gone through several TG screen protectors so far. The first blocked the proximity sensor, another wasn't cut right, finally tried the one offered on the Google store but discovered that the case that I was using (Spigen Neo Hybrid) fits so closely that it pushes the edges of the screen protector up, letting dust under it and causing it to fail to register button presses on the corners of the screen!
What combination of case and screen protector have you all found that works for you?
My case is Spigen, and fits pretty tight, it's the only one of three I tried that has a tall enough lip that the screen doesn't touch the surface when laying face down. It is the right amount of protection without obscuring any sensors. mics, or cameras, and it's not slippery but doesn't pull your pocket inside out when you grab it.
The screen protector is Skinomi, and I've had 4 on my 6P and currently on first one on my 2 XL. No touch reduction issues. The surface is not quite as smooth and silky as glass (but many of the glass ones have edge adhesion issues, so I'm waiting), but this offers great drop protection. It is self healing, so if you get a good ding in the protector, it will slowly back itself out and the ding in the protector will be gone in a few days. Until I can find a glass one without the edge issues, this is a good alternative.
I've dropped the 2 XL maybe 3 or 4 times on gravel and concrete and the case and screen protector did their jobs very well with not a single mark on the phone or display.

I'm currently using a Spigen case with carbon fibre accents on the top and bottom. It has mostly a matte finish which causes for it to be pretty slippery. Got a new case because of the slippery-ness, and it just came in the mail today.
The new one is just one of the usual transparent rubbery feeling cases, but it has a lot more grip! I noticed it gets a lot of fingerprints but I haven't used it long enough to know if its going to become an issue for me.
As for screen protector, I use a wet apply one that sounds similar to Az Biker's. It's self healing and it sits properly on the edges and actually covers the entire screen!
Couple of downsides though, for one, it doesn't feel like glass (since it's not glass lol) and two, you can see some grain when looking at anything that has a bright/white background.
For me it's still worth it just because in most conditions it's fine and I don't ever worry about it coming up from the edges like most glass protectors do on curved screens.
Hello I just recently got my self a pixel 2 XL and I'm looking for a good screen protector. I've done some looking around and found ALOT of options but it seems that screen protector quality has gone way down since I last bought one (for an older phone).
What I'm looking for:
a temptered glass, non do matrix, case friendly, non edge adhesive screen protector that doesn't cost an arm and a leg (for what the product is).
If anyone has had a good experience with anything that would fit the criteria please let me know.

I saw those, and I like the idea and the product seemsd really well reviewed just really pricy for a screen protector. I mean I have most of the stuff that makes those good (i.e. loca, uv lamp) I just don't have the actual screen protector.

It's really odd that there aren't more affordable screen protectors besides the Whitedome or whatever it's called. It's also the one that I refuse to spend that much money on, lol.
The reviews on Amazon are also insane since a crap ton of them are fake reviews besides the 1 star ones. Although this isn't a glass protector, keep this one in mind. [emoji106]

Three main thing keeping me away from the film screen protectors it's they usually have noticeably more resistance during use than the tempted glass alternatives. How did that one feel when using?

It feels more like the protector that comes with the S10. It's a wet apply, and feels really smooth compared to the other film protectors. I know the film type you're talking about, and I've used this one for 8 days now. I guess the only bad part about this screen would be if you get something under it.
If you do happen to mess up during installation, it says they'll send you another one no problem, but I recommend at least giving this one a shot. [emoji14]

I've recently started using Screenknight film screen protector, and whilst it does have more resistance than a glass screen ... Using it with my Unicorn Beetle Pro (after removing the built in screen protector) it makes my phone feel indestructible ... Much better than the glass because it wraps around the edge of the screen which is then covered completely with my case ... I'd does a have a very slight "orange peel" effect if looking in the right light, but all in all I'm much happier with this than any of the many glass screens I have tried and wasted money on !

Definitely upgrading my OP 6 this time with a Oneplus 7 Pro and will be getting it on launch day. Will there be any proper tempered glass protectors which wouldn't block the Oneplus 7 Pro screen on the sides? Wasn't lucky with the Oneplus 6 TG protectors as they were blocking the screen. The screen this time looks a lot more curved from the images and chances of a fully fitting tempered glass looks very bleak with the bezels almost vanishing.
Finished applying gadgetshieldz full body protection on my Oneplus 7 Pro. The screen protector goes all the way to the edges. This is freakin invisible after applying and almost feels like glass...Great scratch protection if you use your device naked.
There is no proper TG protectors yet due to the curved screen. This feels great with the back and camera lens protection as bonus....

There are some in the Amazon but not sure about the quality and no info about the whitestone and zagg. These flexi screen protectors with a case are your best bet till anything worthwhile comes in tempered glass protectors for the Oneplus 7 Pro.

Im just worried due to curved screen on Pro that we wont get a easy to apply one.
Will probably need to use blue light to put it on and that makes them quite expensive and not compatible with all cases. My Pixel 2 XL still has no protector due to this.

Had this on several of my Samsung devices. They work great but the install takes some getting used to and they are much more expensive than a regular tempered glass protector

But Whitestone dome is providing screen protectors for Samsung devices. Not for Oneplus.

One plus hasnt had a curved screen until now so no need for whitestone to make one.
They may now

Quick reminder to anyone buying one, as with the OP6T, once you apply the protector, remember to re-register your fingerprints for accurate detection.
(Experienced users will know this, newbies may not realise it)
I was using 3mk Arc 3D foil on my Galaxy S8+. It was much better than any glass I was using before. It had self healing feature and was totally invisible on any angle. Compared to any 9h glass which often are shinny as hell it was a perfect solution. Also it was compatible with any case( I was using it with neo hybrid from Spigen) I hope that 3MK will make it also for OP7 pro.
Using the Skinomi matte protector on my 6T which is self healing and feels like a glass screen protector. Getting the same thing for the 7 pro as soon as it's available. Best screen protector I've ever had.

I have a few questions around tempered glass screen protectors for curved screens like the Pixel 6 Pro, I was wondering if people had any answers to:
Are there any known brands that do good quality curved tempered glass screen protectors?
Has anyone seen any tempered glass screen protectors for the Pixel 6 Pro that follow the curved edge of the screen
How well do these fit on phones that have cases (I'm looking at spigen rugged armor and have noticed in the past that some screen protectors don't fit properly with the case)
Any input would be appreciated as I want to make sure my Pixel 6 Pro is properly protected from scratches and falls.
At the moment, do not buy a glass screen protector. Where is the screen of the Pixel 6 Pro curved? Until a high-quality curved protection is made

Just this morning this chick was standing next to me on the train and she had a phone with on-scree fingerprint reader and a screen protector. It looked ugly as ѕhit, because there was a hole for the fingerprint.
I haven't used screen protectors in years now. I just don't put my phone in the same pocket as keys and it's good as new.

I'm using a Whitestone Dome Glass on my OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren and there is no hole, where the FPS is...
And there's also no problem with the finger print reader with the applied Dome Glass.
So I really do hope that there's going to be a Dome Glass also for the Pixel 6 Pro (in the past Whitestone always hat a Pixel Dome Glass available...)

I heard many horror stories from people that had to remove the remains of Dome Glass after a drop (shattered, couldn't be removed in one piece). Did that ever happend to you? I planned on using Dome Glass for a while now, but it's quite expensive and I am not really looking forward to damaging my original display whilst trying to remove the debry of the protecting glass...
Any reason why you couldn't put a 6 tempered glass on the 6 Pro? pretty much the same size. You wouldn't want it to go past the curved edges anyway.

You would have a pretty sizable area around the screen protector that doesn’t come up to the case edge. Leaving room for dust to accumulate. Also the selfie camera cut out wouldn’t line up right.

I know Spigen makes great cases but never tried their screen protector. It's not tempered glass but it was (only) 11 euros on Amazon. In the worst case, if reviews are bad, I'll send it back.
Edit: read some reviews about the same ones for other phones, they don't seem great. I canceled my order for now. We'll see what becomes available next week.
I just bought some LK film screen protectors off of Amazon. I've had good luck with them in the past and the install method they use works great. I might go Whitestone or similar later on after I see some reviews. I had used Whitestone before in the past but from what I've been reading it seems the quality of the glass isn't what it used to be. IDK anybody used a Whitestone lately?

Before I sold my Pixel 2 XL I removed the Dome Glass and that was absolutely no problem.
The Glass came off very easy and the glue sticks to the Dome Glass not the Smartphone Screen.
I also had to replace the Dome Glass on my OnePlus (my fault) and there I didn't have any problems either - the glue sticks to the Dome Glass, the Display remains absolutely clean...
Can't really imagine on how to "kill" the display when removing the Dome Glass...of course, if you're usin a kniw or a screw-driver or any other inapproriate tool...
I'm going with the Ringke Dual Easy Wing. The film curves around and covers the edges and it has stayed pristine for the 1 year I've had it on my Note 20 ultra.

A few things to answer earlier posts:
Whitestone is REALLY easy to remove, even after it shatters. Worst case you can scrape it all up with a business card. The adhesive is more like rubber cement than a hard glue.
Tempered glass protectors with a hole in them are straight up garbage. Avoid them
The Pro has an Optical sensor, any issues that Samsung users had with tempered protectors don't apply here. Optical sensors work GREAT with LOCA based UV tempered glass protectors. My Oneplus 9 Pro has an Optical sensor and I have the whitestone (and used Aliexpress $3 loca based protectors), they all work fine. The main difference is the quality of glue used, the cheaper ones pull up like crazy after a few weeks.
I ordered a Spigen 2 pack but I am no expecting much, might go Whitedome this time. Curved displays are a ball ache.

I ordered 2x Magglass Tempered Glass Designed for Google Pixel 6 Pro Screen Protector (2021) UHD Full Coverage Display Guard (Case Compatible), so I'll give a review when I get the phone and put it on. It was either the sole tempered glass one I could find or one of only a couple. I've never used this brand although I've heard of them and seen them.
By the way, on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 512 GB (which I love the hardware but hate the software, having come from the Pixel 1), I bought the Note 10+ phones for my wife and I a year and a half ago, and it took a while to receive a screen protector. I dropped that phone at least 10 times before I also received an Otterbox Defender, since a lot of stuff was getting delayed. That phone is just so slippery without a case (I know, this is a screen protector thread).
I'm so glad the screen wasn't damaged before I got the protector on it. The phone came with something basic already on the screen that wasn't really a protector, but it might've helped keep it from damage until I got the rest of my accessories.
Can someone advice me for a good screenprotector for my new Pixel 6 Pro?
I already tried 2 but with no luck.
The fingerprintreader is the main issue, also trying to register the fingerprints again, does not help.

Using this now ,really good no FP issues and although tpu it is not the jelly like feel.,feels more like glass
This is presumably the same as the one above so you get a couple of options when they are back in stock. Mine went on completely bubble free and it is very slippy under your finger, it doesn't feel plastic at all.

curious, aside from the feel and texture of a glass protector and TPU, does one provide better protection over the other? I heard TPU does not prevent the glass from getting shattered while a glass protector does?

TGSP will protect your screen from drops better. TPU will only really protect it from scratches.

The one from china was a bit to big, fingerprint recognition was kind of mixed up feeling. The one one from lk is so much better. Way better fingerprint recognition.
