hi,
How to repair / re-calibrate the proximity sensor on unofficial systems, e.g. CAF-Reloaded or AOSP9?
My problem is the black screen when calling. In stock I used the code *#*#64663#*#* and it helped. The app from the Play store won't work, but it shows that it works.

As you guys might have read my display got broken and i replaced it myself. However in the process I damaged a few thing. The home button does not work and the proximity sensor is broken. The problem with the proximity sensor would just be fixed by disabling the blank screen when calling. Can anyone make a odin package (cannot do update.zip due to broken home button). Or tell me how to disable this function?
Many thanks in advance!
Mine is broken too and now everytime i'm calling the screen turns black. Which is no problem except when you are calling a computer a needs to "2" to proceed.....
Does someone have a sollution?

SOLVED.
Used the free app ProximityScreenOff. Its in the market.
Make sure you select the Proximity sensor instead of the Light sensor in settings.

Not really the place for a request, but hey, since it did not seem to bother anyone, go ahead!
My new defy 's proximity sensor seems cannot work correctly, when i making a call ,the screen shut off immediately, and the screen could not light on by any key,but when i touch the proximity sensor with my finger, the screen may be light on!
so i download a app to test the proximity sensor which name's"Android sensor data",this app fingue out the state of proximity sensor,"near" or "far",sometimes I just passing my finger over the proximity sensor, the reading will show 'near' and then remain 'near' even when my finger is moved away!
Can anyone else help me to calibrate the proximity sensor?google told me some android phone can do this ,such as htc, zte etc.
goole tell me android phone have some standard testcode, such as *#*#4636#*#* can show the phone statue,it works correstly in Defy,*#*#0588#*#* test the proximity sensor ,but it doesn't work in defy!!!
is in-pocket detection enabled?
it gave me lots of problems in the past
Hi All,
I suspected i break my Proximity Sensor in a fall, and while dialling using stock dialer, the screen goes black instantly.
I installed "Android Sensor Box" and confirmed my proximity sensor is indeed broken, i.e. jammed at zero value.
After few read-ups i decided to install Hardware Disabler, since yesterday have been randomly checking drivers and reboot, use the problem persists.
Seeking help if anybody can enlighten me on the driver name for Proximity Sensor.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I have a strange problem. My LG-G3 (D855) screen, running on Android 6.0, does not turn on during a call.
It is working fine otherwise.
I entered the secret menu, and applied the proximity / ALC under HW test. Apparently, the sensor is locked to "NEAR" state.
How do I recalibrate it? Is it a Marshamllow issue? Is there any volunteer who can test this setting on his/her device?
There has been a few people with this issue that ive seen common fix is clean the prox sensor. Some screen protectoers interfere
Running 7.1.1 on my nexus 5x with google dialer 8.0.148481159.
When in call proximity sensor is not disabling or enabling the screen.
Very annoying to have to hit the power button to activate/deactivate screen so that my face doesn't hit all sorts of buttons while in call!
Downloaded AIDA64 to test if proximity sensor working properly, values change normally when putting hand in front of sensor.
Anyone else have this problem? Is it an issue that google is aware of and is working on?
