Benefits of changing CSC code?

I live in the UK but my phone is a grey import and has csc AFR. I have the option to change it to a UK csc but it will factory reset my phone.
Are there any benefits for me if I changed my csc code to a UK one? I have just updated my rom to the latest french 4.1.2 but my csc has stayed the same.

if you change the Csc to United Kingdom Unbranded you will not have the 4.1.2 update, the BTU (uk unbranded) Csc is still 4.1.1 in galaxy note 2. As of other benefits you wont even see a change the Rom is the same and everything in it is the same. so stay with that csc.

There is something like HD Voice and this service might not be enabled if your CSC code doesn't agree with the country you live. And I think that thanks to proper CSC your mobile internet settings should be set properly too. I don't know if that has some importance for available services in Play store, but it might have.

Hd voice isn't available on my network (o2) and my Internet settings are set up correctly from when I first put my sim card in my phone. Also the play store has been working fine for me so far.

Install the latest stock rom.
mb2 for france.
Then change csc.
If you wouldn't mind a factory reset then you can do it.
But no major benefits.

If you have a UK phone BTU with the French 4.1.2 ROM and didnt change the CSC to the french one,would you get the French updates OTA or the BTU updates ?

hello, I'm trying again in this topic cause maybe nobody saw my previous attemps.
I want to change csc but cant cause I have this error "com.android.Preconfig not found and changed to manual mode"
tried the csc select app and mannualy with the 272 imei thing
little details: came from a branded carrier phone, then unlocked with galaxsim app. I use a XEF rom and I want to have a XEF CSC.

Got the same problem had branded phone with 4.1.1 then install 4.1.1 XEO and change CSC to BTU, after that install the XEO 4.1.2 and now i cant change CSC?

Yes, it is easy to check the changelog for any device and region. You have to simply modify the URL to include the relevant model and CSC.

In the link I have provided, SM-A505F is the model and INS is the CSC.

Another quick question if I may. There appears to be three versions of CSCs for Germany in the link you posted: DTM, VD2 and DBT. My A50 has DBT as CSC. Do you happen to know the difference between these three CSCs? Many thanks once again

Any idea when the malaysian version will be uodated? I am still stuck on february version. Is there any way to flash Indian or Pakistan version keep in mind I have 6GB ram.

if your firmware is XME , it's a part of multi CSC OLM
so you can download :

I do not get it I am on XEO. New firmware A505FNXXU1ASC1 exists over a month old but I am still on ASBG, no OTA.

I just received my first update of 448MB which pushes my build number to A505FDDU1ASC8.
I am on XME malaysian with 6GB ram.

This morning i have been received update to March 2019 with all goodies included FP sensor sense.
There is a little better FP sensor reaction (speeder than before).

You need to flash all 4 files in one go. Home_CSC_OMC preserves the Internal Data and CSC_OMC formats the Device.

Yea you can probably do it with root, I've not rooted a phone since the S5 though so not sure of the process

SM-G986B is Multi CSC device. Since Switzerland and Italy are in the same region both CSC's should be pre-installed on the device.
Try this - Go to "Settings" then "About phone". Write down your IMEI Number. Open dialer and enter *#272*IMEInumber# (In the thread replace IMEInumber with your actual IMEI Number). Press dial, you should see a screen with the list of available CSC codes for your device. Select the CSC that you want and tap the Install option.

I changed mine yesterday from EVR to BTU. Took SIM out then used samkey took less than 5 minutes then when it was done an update was available for me straight away

My current csc is this:SAOMC_SM-G986B_OXM_SWC_QQ_0025

Is it possible to change this csc to ITV through SAMKEY?

The Samkey method would only work if the security patch on your phone hasn't been updated past July 2020. Otherwise you will get an "unsupported BIT" error.

In this case you're stuck (like myself) with whatever csc you currently have unless you root your device. I haven't rooted any of my samsung phones (my primary handsets) since my S3 days as I had no need to. So I'm not familiar with the process for sammy devices.

Samkey must have updated their program recently then. When I tried that 2 weeks ago, it didn't work. Thanks for the heads up. I'm going to change my S20 to BTU.

My device CSC code is OSW. I can't find what means. I run the dial method to know my phone CSC code. Before was OXM.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

OSW is a multi CSC, like OXM is.
Based on the sim cards in your phone, on first boot after flash, the appropriate csc is selected.
Based on the information provided by OP on Reddit (CSC settings in phone info: NEE/NEE, DBT/XAA), it looks like he has both a Nordic sim and a German sim in the phone. Probably as AUT is not in OSW, DBT is selected.
Strange to me is listing of XAA (=United States) as last CSC. That last CSC would indicate country code of the country the phone was manufactured for by Samsung... but Samsung does not manufacture N975F for USA... Looks like phone was seriously messed with.

yes, I try to install another version with *#272*IMEI number# bud this code was not working for my phone.
Anyway, I had managed to flash another updated version (UI2.5 and security 12.2020) also OXM.
With this last firmware if I use *#272*IMEI number# still I don't get any multy-csc.
It is possible to change the IMEI of a phone?

I also found it strange that it was XAA it has an Exynos chip. Now it is NEE/NEE, NEE/XAA.

Question Indian firmware with European Z FOLD 4 (SM-F936B)

I just saw online that India Market got the new update (F936BXXU1AVIH) with September security patch.
So my question is, as i have an european model with the same model number (F936B), what is the risk if i flash this firmware ? As i know that it's not gonna change my 4G/5G bands anyway, so i'm guessing maybe an OTA issue after flashing this firmware (like not receiving them as i don't live in India).
Sorry if it's a stupid question :-/

Yesterday I installed the Indian version on my European version Fold 4, there is no problem except that it does not pass the Safetypass and I cannot make contactless payments.
No Root, no OEM unloock, just ODIN upgrade (firm from Sammobile).

I confirm that i can no longer make contactless payments as well, but i never used it anyway so not a big deal for me... i hope that there will be no others bad compatibilities like this one.
Will update on a newer European firmware later or just flash the AVIH European firmware when it'll be released

I'm guessing that it's caused by the software itself and not caused by CSC. Maybe in India, Google Pay is not used, i don't know...

It's very strange that the India version does not pass Safetynet's CTS checks. I also used the Home_CSC, I had never had a similar problem. I will wait to try with another region when it comes out.

Same here....Some week ago I bought a Z Fold 4 with EUX CSC and immediately changed CSC to INS using SamFW ver 2.1, Wallet worked like a charm until latest security update installed some days ago...Now, reverting CSC to EUX, does not solve the problem...

So you're saying that you reverted back to the last Eurpoean Firmware and that you can't still use GPay ? Or you just tried to changed the CSC without flashing European firmware ?
