Just a heads up. I have paid for elemental x....and after I used rooted kernel, I got a notification from elemental x app that a kernel update was available...I figured what the hell. Bam!!! Elemental kernel and it's glorious color control is working...woohoo!!!
Very nice, might push me over the edge to root. Can you let me know if the wakelock blockers are implemented as well?

Did flashing the kernel affect your finger print unlock at all? After I did none of my registered fingers are working. Pin and face unlock still work though.
Update: I reflashed my magisk patched boot.img and my finger print unlock worked again. Must be something with the elemental kernel.
I had same issue with the fingerprint. I deleted and re-registered but fingerprint unlock still didn't work.

This is sweet, I haven't rooted in like 2 years but I remember flar2 I can't wait to see what he has done for us!
ElementalX has been updated and the fingerprint sensor works.
What noticiable improvements does Elemental bring?
Sweet it looks like it now also works on op7, op7 pro, op7t and op7t pro. Took a screen shot of the changelog if anybody is interested in what changed.
How did you install the Kernel ? Right from the ElementalX App or via OTG from TWRP ?
Installed directly from elemental x app. Works perfectly so far. Must be rooted to install.

Great, how much your SOT is improved?
I get a corrupt file error when attempting express & no option to flash anything via the custom download. Sure I overlooked the obvious.

I don't have a S7 Flat.
But this kernel should work.
Did you flash other custom kernel before?
Some kernels will remove Fingerprint related files to make kernel stable.
So, maybe you should reflash the ROM and then flash this kernel.

But it is not always stable enough, some will meet black screen problem when Geekbench at about 70%.
(That's partially because S7's unstable power supply and various of ASV levels)
I am working on a algorithm that could automatically determine whether OC or not by ASV level and voltage supply.

Last time I tried to flash on OB25 I bricked device and had to go to mega unbrick guide, lost all my data cause soft unbrick didnt work, had to do the full one. I got it working on OB26 with a certain thread forgot which one. You basically had to download some bootloader+firmware and I believe you had to set SELinux to permissive although I think it worked without setting permissive. I have the bootloader on hand in a folder, but not the firmware. I can flash Magisk quickly without all that to test if it does, although I doubt it will. brb.

? idk Blu_Spark feels pretty stable
Stock kernel + AKT project ZHANA! Best combo! 2% idle drain over 8 hours and around 5 hours sot with 24 hours of standby time

If you want to eek out some battery, you can disable touch boost completely, I have and I cant tell the difference, some might disagree but you can try it and see how if it works

It does lead to lagg tho, touchboost is there to help the CPU responding quickly to load and provide a smoother UI experience.

I know that but this ain't like disabling touch boost on a nexus 5 it makes little to no difference on op3 I run blu_spark with the big cluster ondemand, touch boost disabled and its great

if you flash the kernel and check kernel version in system settings it will still say taimen. I will change this in the next release. It´s purely cosmetic.

Everyone's phone usage is different, so YMMV, that being said I only drained 2% standby overnight (8 hours) using this kernel, where on stock I would typically drain 4-5%. I also feel like apps load a little bit faster thanks to the slight OC. Slight but noticable IMO. Once again, YMMV.

I don’t know, but I think not. The kernel is built on the sources for 8.0.
you can always flash the kernel via fastboot and just restore the stock boot.img via fastboot from the dev preview zip in case it isn’t booting. And report back

Since I like customization I like to flash custom os, right now I have pretty bad batterylife.
What ROM/kernel are you using ? I know batterylife differs from person but like to flash a ROM with good performance and batterylife.

I'm using it as stock android 10, I think the battery life used to be good on Beta Q6. now with October's update it is not like it used to be -using the same apps- but good enough to complete my day with 4G on and communication apps and 2h of playing hard games.
how is it with u using different kernel ? 'cause im thinking to re-flash it and root in order to use a custom kernel.

Install instructions are on the previous page, but read the rest of the thread after. The build was completely generic and multiple apps would not even be send root permission requests so didn't work (AdAway and TiBu for starters). It was definitely not ready for prime time, and that beast10 one was from the same day. I wouldn't be really hopeful. It is interesting using fastboot/fastbootd to install though.

You could try Tulsadiver's mod. Can do most things. Or install substratum for themeing on stock.

Can verify, I flashed Kirisakura 2.4.0 through Franco kernel manager on this rom and it runs well.

I know you can do it if you spoof your device as a Pixel XL, It will break Magic Eraser though
