Shutdown at xx% - Moto Z2 Force Questions & Answers

A few days ago my Z2 started turning off. When trying to turn back on, 0% battery. Plug into charger and instantly shows 32%, 6x% or 7x%. Tried the whole recalibration voodoo of charge til full + 1 hr, drain down to shutdown. Charge to 100%+1hr... but no. Did a restore hoping I had a bugged app but just happened again with 32% remaining. Do any of these battery apps help or is it just ****ed.

This is what happens when the battery fails inside our device. I just replaced the battery in my Z2 Force about a month ago. When I removed the display on mine you could visually see the battery was damaged. Once I disconnected the battery and removed it from my device I could bend and fold the battery in half. It was swollen and cracked in several places.
I picked up a new battery along with a tool kit from Amazon for under $15.00. The kit I ordered had an original Moto battery in it.

Moto 360 not charging above 50-70%

Hello everyone,
I bought my moto 360 when it first came out from NZ. It was running fine but was out of use for a month or two. Now that I have started using it again, I have noticed that battery doesn't charge even if I put it for charge overnight, it charges to anywhere between 50-70% but doesn't go up from there. System update has been downloaded but cannot install as system asks battery to be charged to 80%.
Any solutions ....??
Thanks everyone...

Same problem here, left it to charge overnight, woke up with 62%. Charging has stopped.
So it stops at 62% for me, drops back to 60% and goes up to 62% over the course of several hours
Mine is doing the same thing. It starts charging until about 55% - 77% and then stops. There is a video from last year of a guy's watch doing the same thing. No updates, no apps draining. It could be the charging coil going bad, checked out Amazon for replacement parts looks like they run about $50 USD for the coil, back, and battery.

Battery weirdness since last system update.

So my phone battery has been acting crazy since the last update. First it dropped to 0% instantly from a 30 or 40% a weeks ago and just now it went from 20% to 0 in a second. The battery doesn't seem to be bulging. So before I buy a new one, has anyone else had weird issues? Just now I was charging it and decided to take out the battery. It jumped from 14% to 55% charge instantly from reinserting the battery.

It's a bad battery. There have been many people coming on here describing your same symptoms, but it doesn't matter what update they're on. In the end, it always turned out to be a bad battery.
So it's not an update issue.

I have had same issues and I noticed it's beacuse I was charging my phone via portable power bank.
When this happens I just drain battery dead, recharge phone to 100% while its turned OFF.
Unplug the cable, turn it on, if it doesn't show 100%, I just plug the charger again to refill it to 100%.
After that for several chargers no problem, it goes slowly to 1% and then dies on 0%

Problems with battery

Hi, I picked up my phone from repair shop a week ago and since then when my battery goes below 55% i get message that battery is 0% and phone is shutting down, and then I put it on charger and sometimes it starts recharging from 1% but sometimes from 55% and if i charge it to 60% it works normally, but when i charge it to 100% it turns off on 55%, can someone help me please is it problem in software or maybe it is problem in battery?

It sounds very much like this:

I replaced the battery and it's been working well for a few months now.
Battery drop from 50 % to 0 %
I had the same issue.
After force shut down (power + vol-up for 10 sec), the battery went back to normal.

EDIT :
That was a short lifesaver, battery is "fubar".
Guys , maybe there's something wrong with the battery charging in Amami . I have two Z1C, one of which normally charge up to 100 %. But the other charges the battery to 100% only in Stock 4.4.4 ... In all versions of Lollipop (stock or not) battery charges to 82% ... Calibration of the battery does not help. I replaced the battery - no change. I tried another powerful charger by Samsung - without effect. Anybody have an idea what's going on ?

G4 old and new battery issues - turns off when it still has battery

Context:
My dear LG G4 started having some battery issues this summer: it would sometimes turn off at around 15%, usually if I tried using the camera app. It would turn back on, at <10%. Left idle, it would actually increase the battery %.
About 1 month ago (maybe a bit more), the problem started to increase: it would turn off at ~40% - but not always, rarely. Last week, this happened everytime. Sometimes it would turn on back with ~5%, sometimes with 30%. Anyway, weird behaviour.
So I decided to buy a new battery. Can't be sure it's 100% genuine, but reviews say it should be fine (looks 99% like the old one).
Hoping it would finally solve my issues, I put the new battery in the phone. 5% charged - well, it's new, ok, np -> charge it to 100% and then go out to lunch.
The drain was awful, in less than 30 minutes it was at 75% (moderate usage at most). When it hit 74% it turned off. Problem is, this won't even turn back on. Got back to the office, plugged in charger - battery still reported 74%, phone turned on. Disconnected the charger, 1 minute later, phone turns off.
It's like when it hits 74%, it stops working.
Any ideas? Phone is still in warranty for a month, but not sure if this kind of problem is covered.
It's also my second G4, first one was replaced due to bootloop in summer 2016.
Download Accubattery app from Play Store, for the old battery , check it's health, repeat for the new battery.
My 2.5 year old LG G4 still has bad battery life because you know the SD 808 heats up quickly specially on hot summers or while charging, the battery's no1 enemy would be heat! So with the help of the app , I found the battery health had depreciated to 69% of it's 3000 mAh (that is 2069 mAh ) If your battery is new , I think your battery health should be 90%-100% in the Accubattery app!
Buy a new battery its done

Z2 Force Battery Swollen and Broken

If you have ever wondered about the battery in your Z2 Force especially after your device has started dying at different battery percentages, well, this is what happens. The first time my Z2 Force died was about 10 days ago and the battery was at 38%. It died when I opened the camera app. The second time it died was with 46% battery life remaining. After this it would die with 98% battery. After doing some research and reading all of the post at the Lenovo forum about the battery issues with our device I decided to order a Moto Battery from Amazon and I installed it earlier this evening. I am letting it charge to 100% before I power up my device and then I am going to use my Z2 until it is completely dead and then recharge it again to calibrate the battery. Here are some pics of what the original battery looked like. The battery was broken into several pieces inside its wrapper and you can see where it had been swelling over and over. Ive had this Z2 since August of 2018. The original battery made it just over a year before I started having the random shutdown issue. I have attached a link to the battery I ordered in case anyone needs a recommendation. This battery comes with the tool kit to disassemble to device but the only thing I did was remove and replace the battery and it took me a total of about 25 minutes. I did use a hair drier to assist with the adhesive but I did not feel it was absolutely necessary.

Just a quick update about the new battery.
When I installed the battery it was fully discharged to 0%. I plugged in the original USB-C cable and the original Moto Turbo Charger that came in the box when the device was new.
Before I powered up my device with the new battery I let it charge to 100% and when it reached full I set a timer to let my Z2 Force stay on the charger for one hour.
When that hour was up I turned my device on and went through all the things I could remember that would cause it to shut down. I couldn't make it shut down with the new battery.
With the first charge my SoT was 7:18. That was a surprise for sure. When my device was new I would frequently get over 6hrs of SoT.
