Are your models Single SIM or Dual? My dual SIM unit allows me to choose the network type/speed for each SIM (unless you guys disabled SIM #2 on each of your phones, maybe?)
Not to mention, that option that I am asking about would only show up if your model was dual SIM.

Dual SIM version. Haven't inserted second SIM and nothing blocked.
I do on my 9750. Has to be dual SIM w/second SIM actually used.
Mine is Dual sim as well
CSC : SLK
Dual Sim, but only have a single SIM inserted and that option doesn't show up.
I think it only appears if you have both SIMs inserted?
9760 and csc CHC and I have 2 sim inserted and this option appears.

This is a carrier specific settings only showed up if supported. Otherwise if your LTE network is a true one, like fully VoIP/ToIP as it should be, it isn't showed because it exclusively uses it.

Hello,
It seems AT&T has shut down 2G network because the 2nd SIM card on my Lumia 950XL Dual-SIM phone has no more network. Is there any hack to unlock the 2G limitation for 2nd SIM card so I can connect to at least 3G network for text message(not necessary for the voice/data)?
Thanks

I knew it is dual-standby only devices that is why asking if there is a hack to unlock the restrictions. I believe W10M OS restricts the ability to be dual active.

You can't have 3G on SIM2 if there is a 3G/LTE active on SIM2.

Do you have any proof that it is hardware problem? There are some functionalities are locked by OS, for example LED for notifications even though the hardware is there. It might need antenna but the 1st thing I want to know is OS limitation

That is because the functionality is restricted for this particular phone. There are some dual-SIM phones you can have both SIM cards with 3G/LTE

Hi All,
I just took delivery of the S20+
Mine came with 1 esim, 1 dedicated simcard slot (SIM1)and 1 simcard/sdcard (SIM2) hybrid tray.
went ahead to sign up for esim for the network i use most often.
Now, i have a question. What happens if i factory reset the phone. will the esim "profiles" remain or do i need to drop by the network provider and request another esim activation code?
This is because i have the habit of performing a factory reset on my android phones after a major firmware update, or every 6 months (or if i feel the phone feel sluggish).
Any idea guys? i cant seem to find information on this anywhere. is the esim data stored on the phone data or in the esim itself.
aah.. found it.. if you go to the setting to factory data reset, at the bottom there is a checkbox to select if you want to retain the esim. tick if you do not want to.. and it is unticked by default (keep your esim data)

My unlocked S20+ didn't come with a sim card. I used the Verizon sim card from my S9+ in it. Works perfectly. If you go to Verizon and ask for a sim card for your new phone, they charge you like $40 for activation. I paid nothing.

U can check it out on your phone settings.
Go to settings - connections - SIM card manager.
If your device has esim, you will see SIM cards section and a Esim section.

That doesn't show up on my unlocked S20+ 5G US variant
That's pretty neat having both hybrid and esim.
Essentially you could have 1 esim and sim card plus sd card.

vodafone UK doesnt support esim on their phones yet (and they didnt sound keen on changing that soon) which is crazy but i think they are afraid people will start using dual networks and they're not happy about that
Glad I bought S20 plus rather then waiting for the ultra version.
More sleek and practical.
Vodafone phones come with esim option also for those who might be wondering.

Nope. Only 2. But u can have both sims and registered esim profile in the phone but at any time only 2 can be active.
To be precise only esim and sim1 or sim1 and sim2. Sim2 can't be used together with esim.

Will be useful to know which variant of s20+ you have there. Samsung released many variants.
Single sim
Dual sim
Dual sim with esim
This 3 in 4g and 5g.
Mine is 4g dual sim with esim.
Sm-g985f/ds
Sim2 slot shares same imei with esim.
So I'm using sim1, microsd card and an esim.
Imei won't show up on settings unless it's active. As in having a sim card in slot 2 or esim profile on.
If u don't have esim set up you'll only see the add mobile plan option if your phone supports esim.

Hey everyone,
So I've got myself the S20 plus G9860 which I believe is the Hong Kong variant, 5G dual SIM etc.
I've noticed I don't have the option for 5G under connection settings.
I'm using EE and have a 5G plan in the UK
EE have dismissed me by saying it's the phone and it being a international model.
Any ideas?
I also don't have the option for e-sim which again is very weird!
Please help
Did you try to factory reset with the ee simcard in the phone? It will setup the phone on uk csc.
I'm not sure if 5g functionality is csc restricted or not.. But if it is this will do the trick.

you need to be very careful - 5G spectrum is different for each variant based on the market is released - so phones that might have 5G in USA or ASIA will not work in 5G in Europe and viceversa as each country uses different spectrums, unlike 4g - and the phones only support the ones in the markets they are released!
I have SM-G986B/DS mine is dual sim both normal sims and laso has 5g on both sim slots

Tried a factory reset and still nothing, same options appear.
I checked the supported bands prior to buying this phone and it supports N78 for EE in the UK.
Is there a secret menu or something I can confirm it actually has 5G and its just disabled?
then maybe get in touch with EE maybe you need a new sim or your plan doesnt have 5g enabled on it

As mentioned in my original post, I have a 5G plan and EE have dismissed me as soon as they heard it's a non UK model, stating it's the phone and not them!
Silly question but would I need to be in a 5G area for this option to show? Or is the 5G option always there regardless
5g is always an option I'm on 02 with a 5g sim however where I live isn't 5g but in connection settings it still shows 5g

Are you using the exynos variant or Snapdragon?
Try going to phone dialer app, enter the code *#2263# and tell us what is the options..
From here try selecting the one with 5G for the appropriate sim slot and see if it works..
Try to choose 5G with 4G since 5G coverage is not that good.
Mine is exynos s20+ 4G model so mine doesn't have 5G available. Yours may be different.

I am not sure which version support AT&T 5G but from this website(if the information correct) https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-s20-model-number-sm-g980-g981-differences/
Hongkong/Taiwan/[China] - Snapdragon support the same network as US model.
There are 2 dual SIM version.
1. International - Asia + Middle east
2. Hongkong/Taiwan/[China]
if you buy the phone from oversea eSIM might be disabled so many people are having this issue.
But why you need dual SIM when you can get eSIM if you buy US version.

From Qualcomm devices you can get supported bands and combinations with Scat: https://mt-tech.fi/en/how-to-get-4g...tions-from-your-android-phone/#Scat_(Qualcomm) . Please share your device log to https://cacombos.com/contribute

No US Galaxy devices support eSim. The main US service providers have squashed it. Only iPhone and a couple of other devices can activate eSim in the US.
Hi all,
I just received my s20+ G986U1. On the network selection-network mode ... 5G/LTE/3G/2G option is not showing. I only have LTE/3G/2G option showing.
My friend who has gotten the G986U with the same carrier as me has the 5G/LTE/3G option available.
Any idea why is this happening and is it possible to fix this?
TIA
Controlled by your carrier/sim.
Thank you for the reply.
My friend and I are using the same carrier in our country. The only difference is the model of our s20+.
If its the SIM card issue, does replacing a new sim card fix this issue?

No. It won't fix, because different model has different firmware, and possibly different csc. Those are the ones controlling what network, band, features you can use.
There are plenty of apps available at playstore for switching your band modes!
