What're the A70 sales figures and how do they compare to A50's sales figures? The A50 is getting regular monthly updates now thanks to how many people have bought it, but the A70 is still in quarterly updates.

Samsung is dialing back the visibility of its corporate brand in Japan after ditching its name from its newest smartphones there, according to The Korea Herald.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge go on sale in Japan on April 23, but customers won’t find Samsung’s logo on the devices as usual, instead they will be co-marketed with carrier partners as the ‘Docomo Galaxy’ and ‘au Galaxy’.
According to the figures from Counterpoint Research, Samsung sat in fifth place in Japan with less than five percent market share during November 2014. That’s in contrast to arch rival Apple, which captured half of all smartphone sales in the country during October and November 2014.
Rumors spiraling earlier this year suggested that the company would exit Japan after failing to make a meaningful impact in the country. Instead, it is giving its phones a shot without any direct links to the mothership — though it remains to be seen how successful that will be given the local penchant for Japanese brands and Apple’s iPhones.
I don't believe that it's a valid source,
how much will they go for?
Based on the OP's other posts, he seems to be a sneaky spammer like I used to see on blackberryforums, so I've reported as such.

Looks like the second gen will officially be smaller with a different aspect ratio.

I've been needing to get a tablet and want the current gen tab s but don't want to see that I could have been 100$ richer by waiting a week. Alternatively I haven't talked to anyone who is happy with Samsungs continued Apple emulations.... Does the collective wisdom here think we'll see an instant price drop for the current gen or do you think merchants will try to wait out the change?

I think it most definitely will. The tablet has already been featured in some sales that put the price at around $270 I think. That's a steal considering how good the tablet is
Two weeks ago I paid $270 for my S 8.4. I'm sure it'll hit $230-250 by the end of the summer. August and September are back-to-school shopping months, so manufacturers like to release the newest computer/laptop and tablets then. Which means clearance of last year's model in the weeks/months before.
I'm waiting for the S2 to come out too..
I'm waiting to buy Tab S 8.4 LTE version when price is cut off.
I bought a Tab S 10.5 a month ago because of the change in aspect ratio. At that time there was a sale on for $70 off MSRP so I grabbed it. My suggestion would be to decide on a discount number and regularly check local prices for discounts. The sale was at Staples Canada and ended April 12th. You could use one of those computer best price checking web sites relevant for your country.

I too have been waiting, seeing the Tab S priced at $100 under "MSRP" all over the place (meaning it was $299 or even less), but hoping with my greedy heart that it would come down even further after the S2 was announced.
Image my surprise when a 2 days after the S2 announcement I couldn't find a single seller offering the Tab S for under $350, and most had jacked the price back up to retail.
Even now the "official" Samsung listing for the Tab S on Amazon is $379! WTF?
Anybody else find Amazons search a waste of space, as it gives you the wrong results, even when it gets it right, you cannot arrange from low to high like every other shopping site.
Is this just me.
John.
Woohoo! My S10+ is finally shipping (on 3/15 as originally stated by Samsung). Or so I thought...
"Thank you for ordering your new Galaxy S10 through Samsung.com. Unfortunately, due to a severe weather event at our warehouse, your product is now expected to ship by March 23, 2019. Samsung will send an alert with package tracking information when your order ships. We apologize for any disruptions to your plans this change may cause.
The storm in the Midwest presents severe threats to safety, and we want to keep everyone safe. We hope that knowing we are protecting our delivery and warehouse teams makes this inconvenience tolerable. If you are in the storm’s path, our thoughts will be with you. Everyone at Samsung hopes you will enjoy your new device; it’s why we work hard every day. Your Samsung Support Team."
Oh well. Creating a single point of failure (only one warehouse shipping) has crippled several of the companies I have worked for/consulted for. Chuckle-head bean counters always get it wrong. And we pay for it.
Hi everyone,
I'm currently using a Samsung S8 on a sim only contract for 10 pounds a month and my contract is nearly up, and I was debating whether to get an A70 on contract for only 26 pounds a month. Would it be worth it, I've heard mixed reviews and I can't make my mind up. Thanks.
The only real issue for me is still the fingerprint reader. It has been improved but still frustrates at times. Otherwise it is a good enough phone for the vast majority of people.
Whether it is worth it depends on the length of the contract really. It is £330 on the Samsung site. Not a bad price for the performance of the hardware. If the fingerprint is likely to frustrate then you might be better off with a oneplus but they are a lot more these days.
Samsung UK are doing a £100 trade in for any android phone plus £60 cash back and quidco another £11 brings it down to £160 i think thats a cracking deal
But be qick the offer ends 25/12
Wait for the A71
Anyone planning to upgrade?
I have the S20 and happy with it. Had no intentions of upgrading....
Until Samsung rolled out their trade in program.
I can get the S21 for $99 if I trade in the S20.
I'm going to do it because they are giving me $700 for the S20, which is more than I paid for it.
Figured that $99 is the cheapest I could get a 2021 flagship for.
The tradein is a great deal.
I am going to skip this year's model and get next year's, hopefully with the UDC.
thats nice but in europe those trade ins are not avialable
so, and since i got s20+ like a month ago i dont plan to upgrade to s21
not much has changed and only complain i have about s20+ is poor battery
everything else is more then good.

Yeah,
I wasn't until I saw the upgrade deals. I have a S20 Plus, so I got $700 off plus $200 in store credit.
So bottom line the S21 Ultra I ordered only cost me $399.
Ken
I'm trading in a S10+ for the black S21 Ultra. I got the $200 credit also.

HOw did you get it for $99? nevermind I see hoow you got it.
Agree, the $700 Trade in is a killer deal. If you have a base model or ultra, you still get $700 trade-in credit. Definitely worth it for lower models, for upgraded you can make a little more by selling it on your own but of course then you have the headache of dealing with that.
