Ok, so just received my MB4 and it's awesome, but, I can't read or scroll through any of my SMS messages. If I get an email it's fine, if I get a message on WhatsApp it's fine but when I get an SMS Everything was fine with my MB3 but this is driving me nuts. oh, I'm on Android Pie using Pulse for messaging and on this occasion Google has not been my friend.
Any help appreciated!

So, I did the GPS fix on June 21st with the ##code# and the msl code. After that, my parents said they sent a text, but I haven't gotten it. Most people use my google voice number, but a few have the old sprint number.
Anyway, I can send a text. I just don't receive a text message. I booted in a march cm6 backup and couldn't get text messsages that way either. Could send, just not receive. I can make and receive calls, and voicemails go to my google voice number.
I have a stock sense backup from december that I can boot into, but am getting tired of rebooting.
Any suggestions. Open for just about anything.
I decided to do a 786 reset, and it cannot update my profile. I am hoping that is because i have a triangle above my wireless signal. Kinda out in bfe as of right now.
My messages will randomly go to google voice instead of messages. That could be a problem as well.

I had this problem yesterday after a fresh flash of CM7.1, and stumbled upon the answer. I wasn't receiving text messages in Messaging OR Handcent SMS - and I have my sprint number ported over to Google Voice. I went over to the Voice app and went to Settings>Sync and Notifications and made sure that Text Message Notification was selected. When I did, the SMS messages going to GV went to my messaging apps too.
Conversely, you could just use GV as your messaging app...

This works like a charm. I am going to post this link in a couple of other places where people are running down CM. Double Thanks!
I have a weird problem going on which just started. When I receive SMS messages they are showing up as google voice voicemails. This is a new behavior I have had SMS working fine on my phone before. But now, this is happening. They do not even register with android as SMSs. You can't view them in Handcent or even the stock SMS app. They show on my notification bar with the little google voice icon like a voicemail. It's making SMS service nearly unusable, help!

This is probably an error with google voice, i recommend uninstalling it to see if that fixes it, if not try using the "gingerbread ghostly sms" app to recover your texts and move them to handcent.

I uninstalled Google Voice and it didn't work at all then. I literally just didn't get SMSs. So I had to put it back on at which point I could see the ones I'd missed while it was uninstalled. Never could see them on Handcent though. I can send from stock or handcent, but I cannot see the replies. It's as though gVoice is ganking my texts before they get to my phone! Help!

Found this online after a ton of searching, it worked! So if any of you have or in the future have this come up, it's a setting in google voice online, and this is the fix:
Any SMS sent to a GV number shows up in the GV app and GV website. There is no means for blocking this.
You could, however, just ignore the app and website, and use the standard messaging app with this setting:
GV website | Settings | Voice settings | Phones | (your mobile number) | Edit | Receive text messages on this phone | SELECT and SAVE
With that, SMS sent to GV number will go to BOTH the GV app and the standard messaging app on your phone.

Hey guys, so I've been trying to resolve this issue that I've been having with my SGS3 today. Whenever I receive a text message it comes to the device and I can read it fine. The only problem is; is that I don't receive any notifications and they're always set to read, so I can't even see them through my DashClock extension. This is kind of a big deal, because I happen to text a lot with friends, and family, and they get kind of pissed when i reply an hour later once I finally open up the Messaging app and see I got a message.
Thanks!
UPDATE ------ This was being cause by the AT&T Messages app. It was installed on the device but not set up and it was blocking Notifications from other SMS applications (Ex. FB Messenger or Stock Messages)
I love Mighty Text - lets you send/receive SMS/MMS from PC just as if it was sent from phone and it even shows up in your phone.
It's great, but ever since I got my note 3 I can't get MMS to send through Mighty Text. I can send MMS through phone.
I also have Handcent SMS on the phone but that wasn't a problem with my S4 or previous phones.
Anyone have this issue or better yet a solution?
Obviously it's not critical sending text through MightyText still works but I'd like to be able to send MMS that way again.
Thanks

I have Note 3 and same issue. MMS is not sending.
If you are on Wifi, data must also be enabled for MMS to work. I am using Handcent.

I'm not using Handcent or any other text app and I'm having the same issue. Galaxy S3, Android 4.3 and MightyText 4.62. Any tips? Mobile Data is on but can't send group messages or MMS picture messages from the Chrome Web App. All I see if the little clock in the corner and that the message is pending. On the phone I have tried lots of things. Uninstall/Reinstall, Restart, unlink/link, clear cache and data. No dice. Any ideas appreciated.
Possible solution?
I'm on a Note 2, using Handcent and MightyText, and was having the same problem. The following seemed to help: in Handcent settings, I made Handcent my default program for MMS only (when it was default for both SMS and MMS, they didn't go through to MightyText). Hope this helps.
I also cannot send MMS/group message on the computer. I tried to install tweakker, but every time I run it, the app quits by itself... Any solution to this? I tried installing Handcent and making that the default for MMS, that did not help either.
I am running Kitkat on VZW HTC One.
I tried Hand (job) Cent but was not too impressed with the fact about when folks sent me MMS messages. It would want me download them.

It took me five minutes to figure out what all the settings mean and how they work. Maybe because I'm (23 years) old... too old for these tech gadgets. And MightyText still doesn't work for MMS/group message
I got mighty text working with MMS. You can't be on Wi-Fi at all with your device. It's slow, but it works when only on mobile data.

Doesn't work for me.
I installed Contacts+ and made it my default messaging app. Now MMS/group message works using MightyText.
MMS not sending MightyText/SGS4/Android 4.3
Hi
Did anyone come up with a solution to this as I'm hitting the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4 on Android 4.3? Everything else works really well - just cannot send MMS or Group messages (which I believe are sent as MMS too).
Have a support ticket open but ~2 weeks now and no reply.
Brian
I'm getting the messages on chrome telling me that its not connected and not working right. I have to keep resyncing them. Ahh it used to work so smooth.
Hello,
I am also running NOTE 3 and handcent with this issue. SMS works fine but MMS stopped working. it was all working fine on my Motorola RAZR HD XT925
going to test with other SMS tools and see what resulkts I get. Its a shame cause I really like handcent
Have been using ChompSMS free version for over 6 months now. So far, it has been working fine, until a few days ago. It simple stopped sending SMS with an error message - message not sent - and a red exclamation mark. I can receive SMS, but not send them at this point. The deafault sms messenger is working fine, though.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Go into settings- apps- and clear the data on ChompSMS - I use handcent and it is working fine...
Clearning data did not help. Only reset my custom settings for chomp sms.
i have the same problem and I messaged them about it too. They emailed me back.

Hi there,
Sorry, it's an Android bug, we can't fix it at present (but are trying very hard!). We cannot track it down, if we did we'd fix it. It's a bug that shows in Android code caused by something in our chompSMS code, but given it's 5 million lines of code, it's not exactly easy to find.
We'll keep looking. Once fixed we'll update chomp ASAP.
Can you try our sister messaging application Textra SMS for now please.
Appreciate your understanding!
Jason - chompSMS Team
Interestingly, I just had the same problem with Textra, with the exact same symptoms. I could receive SMS, but not send. It would pretend to, then issue a notification a few minutes later saying it had failed. This would lend credence to it being a problem at the OS level.
Not sure what the deal is, though. I was using Textra on CM11 with zero problems on my Skyrocket.
