Hi,
I am trying to flash stock ROM on GT-n5100 with no success. I will first recap what I did:
1. Tried to flash N5100XXBMD1 EUR version from samsung-updates with odin and it failed with invalid volume size
2. Recovery was not working, I flashed CWM and recovery mode was still not working, only the gt-n5100 logo.
3. Flashed stock recovery, and recovery mode still not accesible, stuck in the same logo.
4. After flashing recovery, device booted in normal android. Tried to root using galaxy note 8.0 toolkit 1.1 and insecure boot method and now the device doesn't boot at all, it gets stuck in gt-n5100 logo.
5. I can enter download mode, but every stock firmware I try to flash fails with invalid volume size message on the tablet.
So, I think I may have a problem with the partitioning. I may have got broken somehow. Does someone have the pit file for N5100XXBMD1 ? or a 3 part stock firmware I can try to flash?
The pit file can be extracted from a working n5100 using Heimdall Suite in download mode. Maybe I can use a .pit file from another n5100 running N5100XXBMD1 ?
Also can you please tell if I'm doing something wrong? I double and triple checked all options in Odin.
Thank you.

I tried to recover from Kies but the device is in download mode and it doesn't appear in kies emergency recovery. I will try from another PC/USB port tomorrow and post the result.

Tried from a different PC and same problem from Odin "Invalid volume size".I can't seem to find the serial number on the device to use Kies Firmware Initialization, but as I recall, yesterday when Android booted, Kies said that initialization is not supported for this device.
Anyway, can anyone extract the pitfile from their n5100? Or give me a serial number that works in Kies?
Thank you.

I checked from Kies with the serial number that I got from the box and it says "GT-N5100 does not support initializing".
Can someone with a N5100 extract the .pit file from it's tablet? It would be very helpful. I can guide you through the process using Heimdall 1.3.1. It is done in download mode.
Also if anyone has another idea on how to revive this tablet I would really appreciate it.

For anyone that can help me with this .pit file, It will not harm your tablet in any way. The procedure does not write anything to your tablet, You just nee to install Heimdall Suite on your pc, put the tablet in download mode, connect it and the app has a buton that says Download .pit file.

I guess no one has a couple of minutes to extract a .pit file from it's N5100
Ok then. I'll look into the option of sending the tablet to Samsung. Too bad I can't get help here, but at least I tried.

i am uploading pit file and partition output from heimdall, its from version 4.2.2
hi
this img how it works?
Still 4.4.4 though, apparently it's still just too much effort to update to 5.0.1.
Probably just the stagefright patch...
Beginning August 31, the Samsung Galaxy S 4 will have a optional software update to Android version 4.4.4/ Baseband M919UVUFOH3 via OTA or Samsung Kies. This update provides

Anyone know if this can be applied to an S4 with custom, rooted ROM & custom kernel? Or does it only work with a stock phone?

It would replace your installed ROM; if you're just looking for the new modem, there's a thread that has it posted in it (sorry, I'm on mobile, or I'd dig it up for you).
Sent from my SGH-M919 using XDA Free mobile app
So, I downloaded the new firmware from SamMobile, since I was using TWRP and the OTA wouldn't have worked.
Link is here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/54333/M919UVUFOH3_M919TMBFOH3_TMB/
I had to restart my download several times to get it to finally download completely. Luckily, Firefox would restart where it failed each time, so didn't have to restart from beginning each time. But, it took quite a while - several hours.
BTW, I did a full NAND backup with TWRP before I started this.
Used ODIN 3.09
Flashed once, but the bootloader and modem didn't take, so I did the double flash, and it worked.
To double flash:
Unchecked AutoReboot in ODIN
Flash the firmware once
Pull battery
Boot holding down Vol-Down button to get back to Download mode
Flash again
The problem with the single flash was my WiFi wouldn't turn on, and when I checked out the versions of the ROM, bootloader, modem using Samsung PhoneInfo from the Play Store, I saw the dreaded mis-matched versions.
Some of my partitions were still NH7. Evidently Samsung keeps a backup of some of the partitions and restores them when the phone is rebooted. Double flashing flashes overwrites this backup.
I rooted with CF-AutoRoot again, installed SuperSU, and was back to where I was.
UPDATE:
Only issue so far is that I had to clear the cache on the Play Store. Was getting a services error.
Rob
Thanks for the update. My own download from Sammobile completed successfully (miracle!) And I am considering doing a phone wipe/double flash/rebuild. May choose stock ROM and freeze the junk. I'm on MDL bootloader at the moment and a fairly old LTE modem.
Before I do anything i have to figure out how to back up my texts (in Slimkat messenger app) such that I can restore them properly into the new environment.

If you flash this firmware from SamMobile. It will overwrite your modem to the newest. It will un-root your phone. And, yes you can go directly to this version from your NB4 version.
So, after you flash this firmware you will have the newest modem. And, you will have to root your phone again.
ROM = ROM
Firmware = Modem + bootloader + ROM

frustrated foh3
This morning OTA pushed the new update to my phone and I accepted thinking there was a lollipop update finally. I had juke woken up and didn't bother to check first.
Anyway, I'm now on FOH3 and am just trying to install custom recovery on my otherwise un-molested phone. I've tried the heimdall option as well as the cf-auto root with odin 3.09 (even attempted the double flash) either I'm doing something wrong with Odin or missing a step because when I hit start I end with 0 succeeded/0 failed and it stays in download mode. When I attempt to reboot to recovery mode, I get the blue text stating booting recovery and then black screen which eventually just goes back to stock.
Is there some other method I need to try when rooting/installing trwp for FOH3?
[edit: I'm an idiot. assumed I already had debugging turned on. I did not. *facepalm*]
-thanks in advance
I haven't flashed a phone since my galaxy s blaze 4g.

I read need double flash... with " Unchecked AutoReboot" in Odin... but please can you tellme what more choices I need to check or unchecked in Odin to start flash this firmware ?
and if I need to uninstall kies from my laptop and install another Samsung drivers... or with the drivers came in Samsung Kies its ok to start flash this firmware?

Yes, you unzip the file to your computer. The .tar.md5 file is the one that you browse to and select in Odin.
Uncheck everything in Odin. Then, flash this firmware twice, with out letting your phone boot into the system. After the first flash is finished. Pull the battery. Put the battery back in and hold the Volume Down button while you power on the phone. This will put you back in Download mode. Then, flash the same firmware again.
After that second flash, you can boot your phone into the system normally.

If you really wanted to, you could leave those two checked on the second flash.
However, leaving them unchecked on both flashes will work, and are the easiest instructions to follow.

Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622790. If that doesnt work try DIFFERENT usb cables (official works best), verisions of odin and different usb ports. Make sure usb debugging checked and power down and pull battery, then put battery back and (while its off) hold just vol down then plug it in to the computer while odins open. If this stuff doesnt work it could be motherboard (its probably not though, dont worry). Good Luck, keep trying.

They dont have it for the SM-T807A
0 Results found
You searched for "sm-t807a"
It would better if you just explain what state the tablet is in and how it got to that state.
There is no official software for the t807a.
OK here how it goes,
The tablet was completely fine.
The original owner ( a family member) tried to root it and didnt accomplish it, somehow through his process it ended up softbricked.
I can enter he download mode for odin but no firmware for this LTE model.
When I turn it on it goes to the kies screen but kies doesnt recognize it, and when I enter the serial it buffers for 2 seconds then closes the process of kies.
Also it says device isnt supported and yes I have installed the right drivers and uninstalled kies numerous times.
The new replacement prog for Kies (forgot the name) is no help either.
Im terrified of what to do next as it does go to the odin screen just no firmware as I stated.
Any update, or could someone upload the stock firmware so i can use Odin on it.
Samsung told me ATT can flash it for free onto it so its deff a possibility however I do not have a ATT account so they cant help me.
It doesn't boot because the stock recovery has been wiped/replaced.
Thats assuming you have tried to boot recovery?
The att models are all bootloader locked.
I'm surprised a bootloader locked device even allowed an unsigned image to flash or did they use something like flashify?
The stock ota update was posted by someone here a while back. Your only chance is to pull the recovery from it and try and flash it in download mode. However odin may refuse to flash it.
If I can find it I can pull out the recovery.img and post a modified cf_autoroot which will try and flash the original recovery, that's if odin will even accept the image.
I was used with something like kingroot.

this i would highly appreciate as the firmwares not deleted just corrupted.

The images won't flash as they are raw unsigned images.
The update should contain a signed recovery image, but may still not flash with odin as the tar package you make will not be signed either and odin may refuse to flash
There may be a way though, another member managed to brick their device by flashing twrp using Heimdall, but couldn't then flash back the stock recovery with Heimdall.
If somehow the stock recovery can be forced to flash with Heimdall then there's a chance of unbricking the device.
I worked just flashed the FW part through AP did it on a friends pc all is back to new.
if you need a link for the ripped files just pm me.
also odin was used.

Unfortunately, Heimdall shows the same behaviour as Odin has.
AFAIK they are using the same protocol and seems that recovery CRC/sign check done via device internally, not via flashing tool.

I used GUI, i didnt do the bootloader or choose any special clickies, I simply tried another pc with the same FW and it flashed in a hearbeast with PASS.
USB hubs are the devil, TRY EVERY USB PORT YOU HAVE
Kies sucks so does the new one.
any issues PM me and ill set you straightm any public questions ask away.
You have to download the IMG files and use the IMG to TAR app, I will provide a ZIP with all tars included but I assure you dont start ****ing around with bootloader images stick to AP.
AT&T is he devil.

The gui question was for synphonica about Heimdall.
Are you saying you flashed the images with odin? Which version and which images?
This has been tried before and failed.
Also what do you mean you tried a pc with the same firmware, same firmware as what?
I'm new to rooting so be gentle, I just bought a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 sm-t807a (AT&T) with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. I want to backup the stock ROM (firmware) so I can go back just in case I bricked it when rooting or installing custom ROM. I searched the web but there are no clear instruction on how to do it for an unrooted sm-t807a. Can someone provide me with a step-by-step instruction? I can share my backup of the stock ROM afterward since there does not seem to be one on the web. Thank you in advance for your help.

You can only root with Kingroot, don't try any other method or you'll brick it nor can you install a custom kernel or recovery.
Once you have root you can pull the partition images with EFS PRO or PARTITION BACKUP.
The best way to have a back up is to catch the stock Firmware update.
This is tricky so research how to do it.
There is one backup I know of:

So I downloaded the stock 7.0 firmware from a link here on XDA. Upon opening the .rar file i was presented with multiple files and I am not sure which one I am supposed to flash. Here is a pic of all the files I have. Just click on the link below. Can someone tell me which one I am supposed to use to flash my phone back to stock android.

ok so I select the files for AP CP BL and Home_CSC like it said o do to make sure I get the binary. But it keeps failing when it starts to write new Firmware. I just need to get to stock firmware on this phone. Can someon Please help me figure out how to do this.
OK I have officially screwed up...
So it was all going smoothly flashing a tweaked custom rom and twrp successfully and then I decided to back to stock...
I accidentally (ok maybe not so accidentally) flipped the OEM unlock switch and now I am locked out of my phone since I still had the custom binary on the phone.
I tried to flash the latest stock firmware for the s9 BTU found from samfirm but odin seemed to have not liked the firmware or something and it gave me an a red message on the odin mode screen.
When I try to flash everything at once I get "REV Failed Check (Bootloader)"
When I try to flash just AP I get "REV Failed Check (Kernel)"
At the moment when I boot up I get the message telling me to use emergency software recovery but Smart Switch does not seem to recognise the device either in the emergency recovery page however it does try to connect on the home page.
I'm not too sure what to do, any help would be nice?
Thank you
You cannot downgrade the bootloader, check which version your phone has in Download mode (BL: xx) and check which version the firmware you are flashing has G960FXXU1BRF8

OK I think I have found the BL version from the line that says...
"RP SWREV B:2 K:2 S:2"
But what firmware has the BL Version 2? They all seem to have a BL version of 1 from what you've said?
If there are no firmware which match this, what do I do? Is my phone redundant?

OK
I saw on another thread that was replied to about the Hong Kong version having been already upgraded to BL 2 so I am going to give flashing that a go and I will report back.

Yea you'll either have to do something like that, or wait for your region firmware to have it's BL updated
Tried it out with a BL2 BTU firmware from SamMobile and the flash went smoothly however now I'm stuck in a bootloop when I'm trying to boot up.
I know this could be anything but I can't get any form of logs as the only mode I have is Odin mode available to me...
The way I flashed it was by doing BL first followed by AP, CP then CSC separately with auto reboot and one other one checked that was instructed by SamMobile. I tried to do them together but I keep getting an error of not being able to read a line.
What should my next step be?
What could be the reason for this bootloop as according to Odin the flash went well?
Thanks in advance

You might need to check "Repartition" in ODIN only, flash all 4 parts at the same time, use CSC and not HOME_CSC
Make sure you are using ODIN 3.13.1
Oh yea forgot the update...
I got it working, I think I unchecked repartition and auto reboot whilst flashing all of them together to get it working
So yea this is now solved
