Which CSC code? - Samsung Galaxy A70 Questions & Answers

Does anyone know which CSC code will work great in Canada with a A705MN that I bought online? Right now I have TPA code but I only get 2 bars of reception

Go for Rogers or bell CSC.

How do you change it? I tried flashing September update using Home_CSC but it didn't change the CSC.
I had MID before, and I flashed ILO.

Just search online
No Ned to flash
You can do it by samsung code dialing

Out of curiosity, what was the motivation behind buying the A705MN instead of the Canadian A705W?

I bought the phone online from a local ad site, the phone was still sealed and got it for a great price. Plus since it's a A705MN it came with earbuds and a 128gb SD Card in the box and the A705W doesn't

Samsung Pay on Note10+ (International device) from Ebay

So there's discussion that if we purchase an International Note 10 or Note 10+ from ebay, we may not be able to use Samsung Pay in the United States. The reason being, the Note will be preloaded with Pay App that's from that region. Had anyone been able to uninstall the pre-installed app and reload the app via apkmirror to get Samsung Pay to work in the US?
Saw a post on the s8 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/help/how-add-samsung-pay-to-sm-g950fd-dual-t3600699) which talked about this exact problem. Not sure if it's the same here and if anyone got to work around the region problem. Not talking about U firmware.

If you read that thread, this was not the case. He was able to use it by installing the framework and app for the USA version.
On my own Korean Note 10+ 5g I tried installing the USA apk but it still keeps saying it can't connect to server.
Check if your csc is from a country that Samsung Pay supports, in the same thread someone post the steps for change the csc. Maybe that can make yours work.

My phone is from Taiwan (BRI) and my previous phone was from Hong Kong (TGY) and Samsung Pay worked fine for both in Canada, right out of the box. I did not change the CSC, etc.
Yeah I don't think that has anything to do with it, given that s8 thread. The OP in that one said he had to sideload the framework and app for USA to work, but I don't see how we could do that since the framework doesn't let me uninstall. As mentioned I tried side loading the USA version of the app from apk mirror but it still failed to connect to server and now tells me I need to use a Korean SIM card to use Samsung Pay.
On my note 8 all the rewards are in Chinese, but it works fine for actually paying for things

I have and international version Note10+, buy it from samsung miami, but the firmware installed from factory in the phone was from Panama, Every time I try to launch samsung pay with a US sim card it stucked on the connecting screen. I tried to uninstall and install the usa version, but the youy cant uninstall the framework without root. I change the firmware for one coming from the country that support Samsung Pay and changed the CSC by doing it. Now Samsung Pay works and use to pay at stores.

Which model do you have and which country's firmware/CSC did you change it to, to get Samsung Pay to work? This information will save many people from the agony of hunting down functional firmwares for Samsung Pay.

Sure, I have the SM-N975F model and I use the firmaware N975FXXU1ASHE from Spain, the CSC is PHE also read that the Italy CSC works.
Hey guys I gave a try to the software Samkey, they have an option to change your csc in a multicsc firmware. For example, I wanted the PCT csc code because is from Puerto Rico(my country) and I knew that Samsung Pay worked with it, so I flashed the firmware N975FXXU1ASH5 with multi-csc OWA N975FOWA1ASH5 because one of the csc is the one I wanted. The default csc in this firmware is CHL from chile(Samsung Pay dont support this country), next I buy 3 credits for Samkey on ebay for $6 and use the option to change the CSC and it worked. Do not needed to factory reset or delete any data. Also the phone do a OTA update and still have the PCT csc code. Hope this help someone.

In case that your actual country of residence is different from the CSC you are using, have you tried adding your bank's debit card to Samsung Pay?
My CSC is Hong Kong and I can add Canadian credit cards but not debit cards. I was interested to know if this is the case across the board.
Is anyone else here still able to use MST payments while using a variant not meant for their home country?
For the past month or two, my SM-N9750 (Hong Kong) will not work with MST here in Canada. Prior to that, I would use MST every week, especially with my SM-G9650 (S9+, Hong Kong).
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Samsung Pay works out of the box for both my dual sim Note 10+ and S10+. Both are from the UAE (XSG). Im using it with a USA card. However, there will be no USA points & promotions. , which are showing UAE promotions.

note 10+ 5G SM-N976N

Hi,
c
You have to use the same model to flash in Odin. 976B is not 976N.
You can flash the KOO firmware for 976N which is the unbranded version (I bought it myself at a Samsung shop in Seoul).
I tried to flash with 976B and got errors. I flashed with KOO 976N but srill i have brand of KT when i start the phone also some settings of KT.
No idea why KT still stays after flashing

Right, because 976B is not the phone you have. You can't use a different model firmware.
Sounds like you need to change the CSC to KOO after boot up.

You said you flashed KOO firmware. That is not the same thing as switching CSC after booting up.
There is a phone menu to change the CSC. You need to do this, which will change the CSC setting on the EFS partition which is what you need to do.
Woow thank you for that. Now this is new and i didn't know it. Can you help me and let me know where to change CSC.
Thanks

The SM-N976N has 4 CSC options built-in. KOO is the unbranded Samsung code. There are 3 for the 3 major carriers in Korea: SK Telecom, kt Olleh, and LG U+
No I did not change my CSC because I bought my phone in a Samsung store in Seoul.
I have KT one , when i switch one says 5G and under screen KT.
also in setting. I am trying to find the way to change the CSC from KTC to KOO
Active KTC
Edit
Ohhh no way that bad
For me only Samsung pay ,5G, start up the phone, phone can't recognize my number rather than that everything else is perfect.
I am trying to find way to change CSC to KOO, hopefully will work

Do you mean your N10+ doesn't connect to the 5G network even if it's present and working in your zone?
Yes i don't see 5G at all even covered in my country. Always LTE+
Weird.. where are you from?
Our model is 5G, I suppose SM-976B only is suitable for 5G networks over asian countries, hope someone could tell me I'm wrong...

I don't know the specs of the B variant, but my N variant 5g worked in Korea just fine. Haven't been able to test it in the USA yet because T-Mobile doesn't have any 5g towers in my state yet.
In my country, UAE according to bands only N976N working since the are on same 5G band.
N976B isn't working with UAE network (5G). I bought and sold N976B.
Also now N976N is not working coz of carrier, KT from Korea.

Firmware request for R805F LTE - EE (UK)

Hi there,
I am one of the (now many?) GW LTE owners who have purchased their watches from another country within the EU. My watch appears to be from Switzerland and at some point had an active eSIM from Swisscom.
I have tried unsuccessfully to connect the watch to my EE phone and data account and even changed the CSC via one of the informative posts here to the UK CSC but still no joy. :crying:
So,.... I am hoping someone could point me to the correct firmware download for EE UK?
Details of my current firmware below:
AP: R805FXXU1ESD6
CP: R805FXXU1ESD6
CSC: R805FOXA1ESD6
Many thanks in advance to anyone who can help me.

As far as i know the bands are compatible. Vodafone UK uses the n78 band 3500mHz which is used in south korea too. The phone came with "LG U+" CSC (LUC) but i changed it to KOO (Unbranded) with SamKEY tool. No knox trips and it lost all the bloatware from the carrier. The things which are not working are: Samsung Pay (don't care), Wifi- Calling (Option is not visible but i get VoLTE) and most importantly 5G.

Flashing the latest starwars released firmware for sm-n976n changed my csc to KOO from KTC. But 5G will not work outside Korea. I think it does not support n78 5g band. In Gsm arena you can check n78 is not mentioned there.

Is it possible to switch region / variant by flashing different firmware?

Hello,
Newbie question here coming from someone with Exynos model SM-G988B/DS (purchased while visiting Singapore):
Can I make this phone fully compatible with North American carriers? I'd like to use Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE - but my Canadian carrier says that this phone is not eligible for these services because it's not a North American variant. A USSD code provided by my carrier was not successful (it said "invalid MMI code").
Even though I'm not entirely comfortable flashing different firmware onto Samsung phones - in this case I am desperate to do it (if it can be done to achieve my purpose at all...)
Now I'm kicking myself... wishing I knew that these calling features might not work back in Canada.
Thank you for your advice.
this is odd.. my phone is purchased in Malaysia, the country north of Singapore, and we have different CSC codes.
Wi-fi calling and VoLTE is working fine when i am in Singapore using a Singaporean SIM Card and when i back home in Malaysia using my Malaysian SIM Card. (But this is on the Samsung Note 8, have not gone to Singapore since i got my S20+ shortly before Malaysia shut down the borders due to the Covid-19 outbreak)

Short answer = you can't. You will need to change the "region key" (csc) by using samkey. If you flash the firmware belonging to different region with different csc code, you will not get any ota update at all. Therefore you must flash the firmware of, say, Canadian region, as well as changing the CSC to same set that Canada uses.
However: do *take note*, do *not* flash snapdragon firmware to exynos set vice versa.

this is odd.. my phone is purchased in Malaysia, the country north of Singapore, and we have different CSC codes.

Yours works because those countries are still within the same region.

You're saying it cannot be done but then are telling me that it can be done using samkey. So which is it? Can I not flash North American firmware with the appropriate CSC?

This is obvious - I would never do such a thing.
As its an exynos device it won't play well with usa networks and you cannot flash snapdragon firmware obviously. If you were in Europe this would have been easily done by changing the csc to say UK BTU via samkey and flashing the BTU firmware etc. Usa is a more complicated given the bands are different over there. Also you probably won't get carrier aggregation and volte / WiFi calling is a lottery! Plus usa networks aren't as chilled out as the rest of the world and have hissy fits if you don't use their branded devices. Charge way more than most other countries too! ?

Not exactly. I'm in Singapore, using Taiwan set, with HK firmware & csc. It's 3 different regions
i'm saying it cannot be done by just flashing firmware like your original question
You *must* do both: update firmware *and* change csc. Now Samsung has locked the csc changing. You can no longer change csc by just flashing firmware of different region. It won't work. Change csc, then flash the firmware.

It is different region as the csc is different.
In your case it is complicated. You can try to flash in your local csc file via odin. Just the csc file nothing else. See if it will work.
The firmware for exynos and snapdragon variants is very different.

He cannot and must not flash sd firmware into exynos phone. It'll brick the phone. Taiwan and hk is sd variant.
Ok - thank you for your responses so far.
So what is the absolute best thing that could be done in order to be *the most* compatible with North American carriers? What CSC should I be aiming for and which firmware to be exact? Could someone please link me to the appropriate files? I'll do my research once I have an idea of what to start with. (If it won't work - I obviously won't bother with it... but I think I should do some more research before I completely give up...)

you're in tough luck. USA bands are different from most of the world (https://sea.pcmag.com/smartphones/3...-americas-first-unlocked-all-carrier-5g-phone). To top it off, your set is exynos, and even if you can get firmware that works for USA set, it is most likely will be in snapdragon.
Btw, exynos version will never support mmwave in USA carriers, simply because exynos version does not have mmwave antenna.
I would suggest you sell that exynos set / exchange it to snapdragon set. With snapdragon, you have more luck finding compatible firmware.
Well... I cannot particularly exchange this device now that I'm in Canada and I've had it for over a month. And no one here would want to buy it since it's not local to the continent. I'm stuck with it here now.
I'll just use it for a year and then get some other new phone next year that's local to my region. There's a few other things I do not like about this latest Galaxy anyway... and I cannot see myself using it for longer than a year. What a pity though - I used to be such a die hard Samsung fan until this latest flagship. They screwed up so many things, namely - the battery life and camera quality.

That's precisely why I do not want to use local version here, which is exynos, the one you brought there.. snapdragon version is *miles ahead* and really is the flagship quality. I don't have issue with camera, the battery is insanely efficient (I have 2 WhatsApp, 2 telegram, email real-time-push, wechat, line, fb, etc) and I only drain 4% per 8 hours at night with all notifications still coming in
Yes, that's the snapdragon version, the real s20 flagship.
Try switching off 120hz. I'm happy with my 60Hz. Battery is pretty good, i usually unplig my charger at 630am.. It'll last me to 10pm with about 30% charge left.
This includes occasional messaging on telegram and whatsapp, some email checking and Facebook browsing. Working hours I'll be on office wifi. Lunch hour and after work 530pm to 630pm is my pokemon go hour which is the only time my wife let's me play games.
My phone is s20+ 4G variant, usually on 4G+, dual sim and 1 micro sd card (one of the sim is the esim). My display is at wqhd+ at 60Hz.
So far im happy with the battery life.
Just this morning, taking advantage of my wifes absence, did some gaming, namely war machines, the tank fps game and pokemon go.. From 630am to 1130am, Facebook and tiktok when I'm preparing and eating my breakfast. my phone is left with 60% charge.
Hello,
I would buy Snapdragon / Hong Kong version because I hate Exynos problems, but I'm a bit confused about CSC.
I've read the topic, and I understood that I can't flash Exynos (European) firmware on the Snapdragon / Hong Kong version.
Some people bought Hong Kong version and works very well in my country frequencies, but I would use Samsung Pay.
What will happen if I change CSC/flash to any european CSC? It would work or not?
Thank you a lot.

Samsung pay might work if the card supports samsung pay. But no way to know for sure until someone test it themselves.

Wait what? Exynos definitely has MMwave antennae! If it doesn't that's news to me. Where did you see information that states that?

On Exynos & mmwave: https://www.bitfeed.co/2020/03/15/s...s-completely-disassembled-no-antennas-mmwave/ and https://eu.community.samsung.com/t5...-5G-supported-5G-networks/td-p/1577262/page/2
btw, you cannot flash Korean firmware to exynos. Korean S20 are all now using snapdragon
How do i unlock my Sim Network on Galaxy A71 5G T-Mobile carrier?
Please guys, how do i unlock my local sim network here in Nigeria?
I bought a second hand used Samsung Galaxy A71 5g from a vendor here. My local network won't work on the phone, telling me it's locked. The phone runs on a Snapdragon chip.
I'm really desperate about unlocking the network, how to i go about this?
