Overview:
I’m a newbie to rebuild and compile a custom kernel. I like to learn new things and share with you my modified version of 14.5.A.0.242-Kernel
It is basically a mixture between some developers kernel source like e.g.,cocafe,DooMLoRD,alnikki25k.
I'm not a developer so I cannot answer your question about any bugs for this kernel immediately. I will try to ask other developer how to
resolve bugs. Experts, please correct me if I am wrong, this stuff is still new to me also.
2015/07/25
I started to port AndroPlusKernel most of feature for z1 compact
Please to visit the AndroPlusKernel's Original Thread in the Z2 forum, and make sure you read all the instructions there

Yup, doesnt boot after flashing kernel
I installed it on stock sony rom, not-deodexed
BUT after i reinstalled xposed (instruction for odex), and wipe cahce, phone is booted...infinitely loaded and can not run (
Yep confirmed doesnt work on RockZ1l_v1.1 also !
No boot and no acces to recovery (blocked before)
Had to flash boot.img via fastboot and restored my backup...
i will try to see what i can do, but i need time to learn first

Do you have to unlock bootloader?
I used PRFCreator to make D5503-pre-rooted-firmware-14.5.A.0.242 zip. For me this kernel to be working fine so far.
try to:
- fastboot flash boot boot.img (from kernel zip)
- fastboot reboot
- enter recovery, and flash kernel zip
- flash SuperSU installable ZIP (option)
to be included in next changeLog:

! This kernel is based on treble tree,so make sure you are on a treble ROM !
【! From R20 , it only support 4.4 compatible ROM since we are having 4.4 kernel !】
! Some profiles from /vendor will be replaced so if you want to fully uninstall this kernel, just dirty flash your current ROM!
If you are coming from other kernels, better to do a dirty flash on your current ROM to avoid any strange problems.
Nameless Kernel Snapshots Telegram Channel
https://t.me/nameless_zukz2
You can get latest test build here
---------Notice-----------
I can say with certain flashing this kernel is safe at all.Kernel will not go on OC freqs if u dont choose OC freqs by using tools like KA.So in fact u can use this kernel as a non-OC kernel Lol.
But the kernel has a lot of settings that could cause unstable like high OC freqs (2.53/2.46/780/2.0),so its strongly recommend to test the freq you want to use before you set it for daily use.Just lock min and max freq to it and see if theres kernel panic or crashes. If everything is fine, you can choose it for daily use.Or u can try to raise voltage for it and test again.
For every device:
OC 2.26+1.68+624 is stable
For most device:
OC 2.34+1.76+710 is stable
For some device:
OC 2.41+2.0(1.86)+780 is stable
For little device:
OC 2.50+2.0+780 is stable
So if this kernel is good at performance or battery depends on ur settings.Default settings(1.8+1.3+624) prefer battery + smooth.
!!!!!Above all,DONT PLAY PUBG ON OC FREQS IF U DONT HAVE WATER COOLER!!!!!
!!!!!UNDERCLOCK FOR PUBG OR U CAN HARDLY EAT CHICKEN LOL!!!!!
-------------------------------
Feature:
-Big cluster OC 2.5GHz
-Little cluster OC 2GHz
-GPU OC 780mHz
-Intellithermal included
-Modified thermal config included
-Sound control added
-A lot of TCP govs
-Ghostpepper from AKT included(Less heat and better performance)
-Sound control added
-Arch power included

-Touch boost can be switch now(disable by default)
-CPU set 2.15+1.59 as default
-Upstream to 3.18.107

From R20 , it only support 4.4 compatible ROM since we are having 4.4 kernel. So go to flash a ROM with 4.4 kernel build in(Latest arrow, aex, etc.),or you ll get problem with video playback and usb.
The latest 3.18 kernel is R19.

So I lock it down to 2.15 as default. You can choose 2.2/2.3 as you like.
Is voltage control available? And I think there're too little steps above the stock frequencies, and did you modified GhostPepper to include all the OC frequencies?

Introduction
Ahoy everyone,
I decided to share my personal custom kernel with all of you. The main reason i started developing this kernel is to balance performance / battery / security and also add features.
I believe i have included most of the usually requested features. If your feature is not included you can ask for it and i will try to include it as long as you don't ask for ETA's. I am a student and i do this on my spare time.
Pie kernel is based on LineageOS 16.0 sources for dipper and is compiled
with SdClang which is Qualcomm's LLVM Compiler for extra performance. [EOL] - Final Version is 3.1
10 kernel is based on LineageOS 17.1 source for dipper and is compiled
with latest sources from LLVM for Clang 11.
So let's jump to the interesting part!

Notes

Moreover, you should flash this kernel only over the stock kernel that came with your Rom.

How far did it go? did it reboot in to twrp? did it go until the boot animation?

Hello Guys,
I am the developer of Sphinx Kernel for Bullhead.
I bought a Mi 8 but it still hasn't arrived , i am expecting it this week or next week.
However, i have managed to compile a Test kernel for Mi 8 (Dipper) from stock sources.
It is very possible that it won't boot. I would like someone to test whether it boots or not. Currently it contains no customizations but once i know it boots i will start adding features.
P.S You take the risk, if you brick your device i bear no responsibility.

mmm Interesting, im wondering whether the "bug" is in the source itself or in the Anykernel2 config. If i had to guess i would say both of them are correct hahaha. i might change a thing or two and if it doesnt work im going to wait for my mi 8 to arrive. Also which rom did you flash it on?

So here is the log i got from recovery.
The only thing i could see that the boot partition is busy
"No such file or directory
mount: mounting /dev/block/sde48 on /system failed: Device or resource busy"
And one thing.... Maybe the Kernel is for MIUI 9 8.0 (don't know if it exists i am on MIUI 10 Global stable xiaomi.eu)
EDIT:
Excuse me here is the real dmesg

ok so from the log you sent me i see this
Code:
[ 6.517314] init: [libfs_mgr]Failed to get verity metadata '/dev/block/platform/soc/1d84000.ufshc/by-name/vendor': File exists
[ 6.517378] init: Failed to setup verity for '/vendor': File exists
[ 6.517415] init: Failed to mount required partitions early ...
[ 6.517421] init: panic: rebooting to bootloader
[ 6.517433] init: Reboot start, reason: reboot, rebootTarget: bootloader
[ 6.517446] init: android::WriteStringToFile open failed: No such file or directory
[ 6.517460] init: Shutdown timeout: 6000 ms
could you please locate the fstab file of Mi 8 and send it to me? i want to see the boot block name. Also if i had to guess about the kernel not booting id say it has to do with the kernel requiring encryption (?) im not sure ill dig into it
