Hello guys,
My TMobile SIM works great with calling and texting but there's a problem with the internet, it's mainly working fine except that some sites like DuckDuckGo, Reddit, Play Store and few others don't actually load.
I'm sure it's my phone that's the problem because the same line works perfectly on other phones.
Stuff I tried:
- Restarting phone many times
- Restoring APN to default many times
- Changing SIM slot
Do you have any solutions? Thank you in advance!

Carrier limitations. Check your data plan.
I have troubleshot the issue some more. It was because of the private DNS I was using. Now the problem is resolved after turning 1.1.1.1 DNS off.

Update with fix [Thanks jayclapp!]
For anyone with this issue, go into your APN settings and remove anything in the "Proxy" field, right below "APN". Fixed the problem immediately for me + jayclapp!

Hi all,
Having an issue downloading anything from the android market on 3G. 3G works for everything else besides downloading from the market (browsing, email, sync, etc).
When I switch to wifi, I can download from the market perfectly fine.
I've tried a friends SIM with a different carrier, and it DOES work over 3G.
Logcat of the issue happening From what I can tell the error starts around line 50, but I included the full log in case it helps.
I'm not much of a developer so I'm just trying to determine why exactly it's happening, as Android simply spits out a pop-up with the useless message:
[App name here] could not be downloaded due to an error.
I have a friend on the same carrier with a Nexus S and she can download apps from the market fine. Haven't been able to test her SIM in my phone yet though.
I've found some others with a similar issue (although not restricted to only happening over 3G): http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=5a31588b6f655e89&hl=en
None of the solutions there helped though. I've cleared market data, wiped, factory reset, tried different roms, etc.
I'd really appreciate any help.
i'm having the same problem - using a galaxy nexus on tmobile. haven't had the change to try on wifi yet.

Glad I'm not the only one...
By searching pastebin, I've found a few others that pasted their logcats with the same issue, but I can't find wherever they posted it to see if a solution ever happened.
One solution I found was to delete / rename the .android_secure folder on the "SD" card, but I see that folder on my phone. I know dotfiles are hidden by default but I'm showing hidden files and I don't even see .android_secure from adb shell.
I'm on Mobilicity in Canada, which also uses AWS bands, not sure if that has anything to do with it.
I don't like bumping, but I still have this issue and was hoping someone could help out.
Sucks only being able to download apps over wifi.
I saw Josh Topolsky from The Verge has been complaining about this issue on twitter the last couple days.
www.twitter.com/joshuatopolsky
I've tried everything to fix it, tried different roms, kernels, wiping, factory reset, different SIM cards, nothing will fix it.
The 403 error indicates that it's Google's servers that are forbidding the connection...but I see no reason why they would, and it's not like I can change the IP address of what my phone is being assigned by the 3G towers.
Everthing was fine on stock untill i flashed revolution hd 1.3.1... I had the same problem with market but for some reason i enabled wifi and started downloading stuff from the market...then i turned it off and magic it worked thru att 3g...
I hope this temp solution might help you guys out or maybe it just worked for me
Ditto
I'm facing the same issue with a Galaxy Nexus (bought from Virgin) on Mobilicity in Toronto: market works on wifi, but not on 3g.
I'm having this problem too. With Orange in Spain.
But is not a constant problem. Sometimes works fine, and another ones not. When the error comes out I try again several times untill it works. If doesn't I whait to have Wifi.
But as I said it isn't always. But some type of bug is.
I got the Galaxy Nexus yesterday from Virgin Mobile and using it with my Telus SIM and Android Market downloads dont work using the mobile network but switch to wifi I can download from Market. I've tried everything you mentioned as well and still no luck.
I have noticed some delays in downloading but I am pretty sure it is becasue of the "little" 10 Billion Apps promotion thats causing the issues.. the market must be seeing a lot more traffic than it can cope with.. servers must be over loaded!
Try market at off peak times (worked for me)!
This theory syncs quite well with the 10 Billion Apps promotion.. just a thought!

Unfortunately that isn't the reason. It's definitely something more serious / buggy than simply too much traffic. It's been going on for almost 2 weeks now, well before that promotion even started.
Anyone feel like pulling a logcat and seeing if it matches up with mine? I'd suspect it does (403 Forbidden errors).
It basically boils down to Google's servers rejecting the connection for one reason or another. 403 error = The server is connectable, but knowingly refused the connection. It's something on Google's end, but I don't understand why certain devices are being rejected while others aren't.
Went to apn settings and removed the proxy and now i can download from market over celluar
Just wanted to confirm your fix worked for me jayclapp!
Updating the OP with the fix, in case anyone stumbles across the same issue.
Bumping up the thread but i believe it's for a good reason.
I had the same problem with I9100 after upgrading to ICS from GB. Talked to Google play support, their solutions weren't helpful (erasing cache and stuff) and they said it's a carrier problem. I used another SIM from the same carrier and it still wasn't working....
So.... Stumbled on this thread, erased the proxy and now it's working!!!
So, i'm bumping this thread so it will perhaps show up in google in a higher search position and to say thanks to the OP (besides the thanks button)
The following scenario has happened exactly four times by now:
I use two SIM cards, one in Estonia and another in Finland. I visit Finland every weekend or every other weekend, depending on scheduling. When I visit Finland then I use pre-paid SIM card that I load with credit in order to use unlimited mobile internet the same way I use at home.
When I visit Finland I swap by Estonian SIM card to Finnish one and when I return I swap it back.
Problem is that exactly after six SIM card swaps, Google Cloud to Device Messaging service stops working and Galaxy Nexus blue connection bars stay permanently gray. This means that push notifications will not work and gTalk cannot connect at all. Other Google services - including Market/Play - work well if they can function without C2DM.
After such an event I have to restore my device to factory settings each and every time. After I do this, the device starts working again. So far I have not found a way to get C2DMA working without having to factory reset my device. The device has no developer or other rogue apps installed that might affect this in any way.
Clearing data of Android Messaging Service and other background Android services has not helped. Rebooting has not helped. Changing from data to WiFi, or to Airplane mode and back, has not worked.
My best guess is that this is some security or whatnot validation in Android code. Before Android 4.0, whenever you changed your SIM card (which I did just as frequently on my HTC Desire), it asked for your Google Account password, after which C2DM worked.
But ever since Android 4.0, your password is not asked and the C2DM stops working after exactly six SIM swaps. I know that it is exactly after SIM swaps by checking my schedule and gTalk chat logs, where I have made notes of this.
I have reported this bug and looked for a solution for this before, but have not gotten an answer. Has anyone run into such an issue or knows what I could try to restore C2DM connection without having to reset my device again? I know that the problem is very custom and thus most users never face this issue, since swapping SIM cards this often is rare.
Wow, this is insane. I actually worked it out! I had reset my phone THREE TIMES in the past handful months because of this!
Apparently what happens that there's a bug in Android that switches SIM card setting after multiple SIM card swaps. Android stores SIM card related settings internally somewhere, but apparently has a bug in restoring those settings after certain amount of SIM swaps.
I went to Mobile Networks menu and from there to Access Point Names and for some reason Android had switched to WAP service instead of the mobile internet one. This is a setting I had never changed and it's happened four times by now.
If you run into the same problem or your C2DM suddenly appears, then you should look at those settings first and foremost.

It certannly worked for weeks in my Lg Optimus G pro phone , when i had not placed any sim card into the phone at all. It was one thing i was hoping would work completly without "web" also , so far it seems to do that fine also . Agps is not a requirement for the GPS, in this phone as far as i can tell, although AGPS can be got over the WiFi if needed, like the app GpsStatus would do that, and other apps out there.
With that said, it should be noted that in my system, the phone connects to the tower AnyFreakingWays. as the US model of phones is capable of making a 911 call (or even butt dialing one without any sim card in place.
So much of my GPS testing also included working with the Airplane mode on, and the tower fully disconnected. And it still worked. Indoors not as well, but at least it works indoors eventually, some other crappy gpses (i used) would not ever fix indooors.
In the "location" settings, I just turn off the Web locator stuff, and leave on only the real GPS, I really do not know much about how the other location methods works on the phone, because I keep turning that off.
Thank you.
Hi all,
Hope someone can help me....Been googling and searching this forum - but nothing definitive found...
I had a HTC 10 which had been working perfectly fine for over a year, all usual stuff, email / web, satnav etc etc.
I recently sold the phone and did a factory reset before sending the phone to the new owner.
He has reported that everything is fine with the phone except the following:
1) When he starts a Satnav application (using GPS) the phone disconnects from the 3g/4g network - ie no data connection.
2) When he makes a voice call, a few moments into the voice call the data signal goes again - i.e. the signal level indicator has a line through it
I have no reason to doubt the buyer, as he is being very helpful - trying factory resets, re-installing apps etc and even uploaded a video showing the above happening. He has even agreed to try a wipe cache partition.
I did google and read about O2 network having some issue about no data during a phone call - but he is on the Three network. And I cant find anything on the GPS causing data connection drop.
He really wants to keep the phone, so if anyone can provide any suggestions or advise on how to resolve this - it would be appreciated..
UPDATE: Only seems to happen with Three SIM - has tried more than one including a brand new SIM supplied by the local Three Store.
Thanks!

My ROG Phone 6 (USA Version) on AT&T network is having an issue with mobile signal every time I use Google DUO (now Google Meet) every time I am on WIFI my mobile connection, connects and disconnects randomly but continuously until I finish the call or turn off WIFI, it only happens on this app, to the point that it can force a reboot sometimes.
I have also tried different video call apps such as whatsapp, telegram, facebook messenger, and the problem does not happen on such apps.
I have tried several things that came to my mind, such as, turn off 5G, turn off 4G, turned off seamless connection between WIFI and Mobile data, I turned off mobile data while on WIFI, I tried turning off Dual Band WIFI, I switch SIM card slot, I tried multiple combinations of all this options and still doing the same thing.
Has anyone faced the same issue, or is it only me? can anyone else on AT&T try such thing on Google DUO?
Maybe it's an app issue (are on latest version of app?) - look at app review/ feedback & try other VOIP apps (e.g Zoom/ Teams etc) to see if same issue, & also Meet on another phone if possible.

I have tried various other apps for video calling apps already, I read DUO app reviews on play store, but can't find a similar issue to mine on the reviews
