I have the same problem, please help!!! thanks!!!
Start measuring from the band, do you see green light blinking fast on the underside? If yes, hold it against your arm in one position for at least 20 seconds. Try different places (avoid hairy areas) or on different person as well if it still doesn't work.
Did anyone manage to solve this? I'm having same issue, no green light.

Hey Guys,
got my new Note II yesterday, but already having 2 problems.
The biggest is the light sensor; the Screen keeps adjusting it's Brightness like hell.
Read out the Sensor data, which is going from 0 to 13 lux when I cover the Sensor with my hand.
Do you experience the same?
Also my USB wire plug is very loose. Also normal?
try turning off auto brightness...
and yes USB wire IS a bit loose

Well, just bought it brand new, I think this shouldn't be on a 600€ device
Does your Light Sensor Value also jump around in same light conditions?
Low-Light mine goes from 0-28, normal it goes from 400~ to 80.000 sometimes, which results in frequent readjustment in brightness.
Thats very irritating for me, cause I use it everytime
Would be nice if someone could give me his values/behavior of the sensor with AndroSensor or so.
Will return this device then

I just got my GT-N7100 and am having the same problems. Very irritating. Need this to work for better battery life. Tried a program from Play Store called Lux, but it works the same, maybe a little better. But Lux is showing the sensor readings varying all the time even when the ambient light hasn't changed at all, thus the brightness fluctuations. I am rooted, but on Stock ROM. Wonder if a custom ROM would fix it, or if it's a defective sensor.
Anyone else experiencing this?

The default auto-brightness should not be updating so fast that it flickers You might want to get it checked out. Or if you use a 3rd party app, reduce the time interval of the update.
And do note, there is a difference say, with your back towards the sun, you face the phone towards you, or towards the floor. So when you are on the move, expect values to change.
Stock auto brightness is woeful in my opinion. It was the same one my Gnex so I have used Luxbon both with good results. Takes a bit of tweaking but brilliant when set up.

I'm not an expert at light sensors, but look at this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9Os3HyCR5Q
I'm moving phone, holding camera still.
It looks like light sensor problem on galaxy note 2.
Can you check yours GN2?
Use code *#0*# and enter sensor test.

I'm not in the brightest room but I have 2 60W light bulbs above me and my sensor has 0 when the phone is towards me and 20 lux when it is towards the roof. And yes it's stable with the values.
After a while I used the new mix 2, I noticed that the text smears when scrolling. There is a glow behind. As if there was a problem with refreshing (?). In my previous Lumia 950 xl phone with amoled, nothing like this happens.
Is this a faulty display? Maybe installing another rom will help?
After the first switching on, the system has been updated to 9.1.2.0 global stable.
Display code: jdi fhd video dsi panel
Did you have such problems? Video below.
Thank you for the advice.

I'd try to do a factory reset and see if the problem persists

I did it but it did not help. I also tried to force the GPU in the develovey settings.
This is just what an IPS display is like. AMOLED has significantly faster pixel response time, IPS has significantly better color accuracy. I came from an AMOLED phone myself before getting the mi mix2, but I've been noticing it less and less as I've gotten used to the phone. If it really bothers you and you're able to return your phone, you definitely should because this is just what the display will be like forever.
I've noticed the same issue.
Did not have this with the original mix.
It's really annoying.
I same problem with Mi Mix 2
But did not have this with my Mi Mix 1.
Note: Mix 1 , Mix 2 same IPS panel
(
Is this present in all mix 2 or are some displays ok?
I've had several phones with ips-display, including Xiaomi note 3 and 4, and I have never seen smearing this bad before!
Too bad no reviewer picked up on this...
Hey,
Since some weeks I have a very annoying Problem with my Redmi Note 5 (global) always shut down (completely off, no restart) as soon when I am out side or the ambient temperature is getting low like for example -4°c / 24,8 Fahrenheit. It completely turns off and sometimes doesn't want to turn on again for quite a while and also don't take a charge. The temperature should normally not be a big deal for a phone and my girlfriend also owns a rn 5 global and she never had such a problem. I already did a reflash of miui and also now did a clean flash of Xiaomi EU rom as both didn't fixed it I also tried a different kernel now (basickernel by sgspluss) in combination with Xiaomi EU rom (phone was always rooted with magisk) but nothing helps. There is no massive battery drain and when I use a app to read CPU / battery temperature they seem also be okay. I have really no idea what could cause it I really hope someone here has an idea.
There are no Xiaomi service centers in my country.

All phones are not meant to be use under low temperature, that's written on their papers, that no one's read, kkkk. So under very low temperature and high temperature, the phones shut down, so be cool, that's not a problem related to phone, is related to temperature. Just keep him warm, and will not shut down.

Between +2 and -4°c is not really a temperature for a phone to trigger temperature protection. Also non of my coworkers and even the phone from my girlfriend which is also a Redmi note 5 shut down at this temperature.

Same here. I have seen my LCD getting a little frozen (ghosting effect was really visible) but no early shutdown
@Cel00
If out of two Whyreds You have, only one has this problem then it looks like a hardware damage

Then it seems I'm the lucky one without any ghost effect issues, I'm in the 4th month of use now and I not had any serious issue yet (Including not any image retention/ghost effect)
I run a distance that is approximately 800m and i do like 5 rounds, so overall i run 4 km. The thing is that the band shows that i have ran only 2.5km. Why is that? Is calibration wrong?
I choose the outdoor running function.
Mi Fit/Mi Band uses standard step lengths - based on your height, weight and maybe even age. If your step length is too much below/above average, it could impact the distance calculation. To have accurate distance, you have probably only two options:
1. use phone GPS to track the distance - but you must have the phone on you during running.
2. use app like Notify & Fitness and adjust your step length to your real value
I have exactly the same problem as described.
The interesting fact is that the difference between real and shown distance is always 1,6. And that equals the conversion factor from miles to km.
So the 2,5 km are actually 2,5 miles which equals 4 km.
Changing the units in the app didn't make any difference for me. So I think it's "just" a software bug.
If you change units in the app, do you see a change in Mi Fit and status menu on the band? For me it changes correctly between km and miles. Also the distance in Mi Fit and Notify & Fitness is roughly the same 4.29km vs 4.49km (N&F uses own step length to calculate the distance), so the information should to be real.
For "stuck" Mi Band it's usually recommended to perform band reboot and if it doesn't help, then re-pairing in Mi Fit. Have you tried it?
apologies for bringing this one up from the grave, but did you manage to fix the problem?
I have the mi band 5 and the same problem. It shows 6.1 km but the distance (I measured it with google maps) is about 9 km in real. What is wrong?
I am having the same problem with Miband 4. I use turn on the function walking when trekking in the mountain and when making 16 000 steps, the app shows that I have walked 15.8km which is completely impossible. GPS on the phone is turned on.
I have they same problem, Mu band is 4000 steps and realy are 2500

I'm facing a similar issue in mi band 6 after the latest software update. It tracks 9kms when I actually do 10kms.
One question, they brought me the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (128GB) Interstellar Gray (GLOBAL VERSION) as a gift and while it worked perfectly for a week until I installed MIUI 12.0.1.0 (QJZEUXM) and for 2-3 days it worked well and suddenly yesterday it showed me some messages when I went to unlock it for not covering the headphone jack and in incoming calls the screen turns black and I can not end the call!
I turned off the pocket function and the 1st problem is almost solved, while the 2nd with the screen tan remains.
Has it happened to you or a Redmi Note 9 Pro user?
How can it be solved?
From searching the internet in general I found various articles that other users have it and most likely it is a problem of proximity or proximity sensor!
Thanks in advance.
looks like the proximity sensor is covered somehow. the proximity sensor is located under the earpiece grill more towards the right side end. could be a piece of dust has become lodged just on top of it. try cleaning/blowing that area and see
I have clean the area in screen where the proximity is and blow but the problem still remaining.
Also I have return back to factory settings, reset it and do anything.
So it surprises me that there is no the function to enable or disable in settings-call incoming settings.!
I think to return back to the company-e-shop to bought it.

no phones (even other brands) feature disabling of proximity sensor in-call UI. i think you l have to return the phone.
