Hey there,
i have build a MM rom from AOSP source (https://android.googlesource.com - android-6.0.1_r79).
It shows security patch level 1. February 2017.
The Android Bulletin shows that they updated the 6.0.1 AOSP version frequently (example: https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2017-06-01 (CVE-2017-0645 A-35385327 EoP Moderate 6.0.1, 7.0, 7.1.1, 7.1.2). The months before also show quite a lot of changes to 6.0.1 but im not sure if they are really merged.
Am i using a wrong repo? Could someone explain that?
Regards
Jojo
Hi there
I am looking for a stable ROM (Based on 7.1.2 or 8+) which has the latest/almost latest security patch. (Either December or January)
Few requirements are:
- Working GPS
- Working Bluetooth calls
- Smooth UI experience (I like stock android)
- Not too many bells and whistles (I like stock android)
- Stable
Can anyone suggest a ROM for me?
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
Thanks for a great forum!
I am going to go MM->N on my G4 but I would like to have current security patches, or at least have one that is as late as possible.
What ROM would you suggest?
Thanks in advance
AOSCP N unofficial. Check out the OP in the official 6.0.0 thread and from the unofficial link there you can get the 4.2 nougat version too
Hmmm
Thanks,
I wonder why the official build isn't N, given that there are N-compatible blobs for everything...
Or is AOSCP a blobfree OS?

No. Every ROM has blobs. AOSCP has moved to O for its official releases and discontinued N as it is old.
However for the G4 there are a few deal bugs (no bt hands free calls and no flashlight tile) that aren't in N (although encryption works on O unlike N)
Hi,
I am using AOSCP Oreo, but do not like that bluetooth is not working properly. Therefore I want to downgrade to Nougat..
Is there any Nougat ROM with the latest security patches from December 2018? The latest AOSCP Nougat version is from April 2018.
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
I'm currently using the latest nightly build for Lineage OS 16 and the OOS 5.0.8 firmware (latest stable i could find)
My wifi performance is allot worse than in OOS and i have a feeling my reception is as well. (1/3th of the speed in OOS)
although usable, i think i need another firmware+modem.
The open beta's seem older (version 3? something) is this correct?
Is my best bet to wait for Android Pie update from Oneplus to get a better firmware/modem ?
thanks

The MZP is still an awesome device in terms of speed, storage and battery performance. So I would like to use this thread to find the currently best available ROMs for the Moto Z Play. As many ROMs are abandoned, overly outdated or non-functional - I would suggest you write which ROMs you have a recent experience with and which can be used as a daily driver.
Please start with this information:
ROM Name:
Android Version:
Latest ROM Update:
Security Update:
Features not working:
Pros:
Cons:
I can start with the ROMs I had installed recently:
ROM Name: /e/ foundation addison ROM based on LOS 14.1
Android Version: 7.1.2
Latest ROM Update: 2020-03-17
Security Update: February 2020

Pros: Speedy and Recent ROM, sadly only Android 7. Good integration of e-Foundation cloud services and app-restrictions in terms of internet connectivity possible.
Cons: No installation of Google Play Services possible. Bluetooth audio may loose connection and require a reboot to work again.

I have tried a lot of custom roms last week and last weekend, I found AOSP 8.1 by @Alberto97 to be the most stable and fluid one for me as of now.

So I used AMP 9.0 and liked it very much, but @ alberto97 has not updated more. Then I met this rom Lineagues 15.1 from @BtbN and I really like it, it updates every 3 months the security patch, I hope he continues making this fantastic ROM flow into our device that still has a good hardware.
For you to use this ROM, as you said it is in XPE13, your recovery is arm64, you need to install the recovery twrp arm32 from the official website twrp.me recently available there and to have no problem in the new ROM, do Wipe Data / Factory Reset , Wipe Dalvik cache, install the ROM and pico arm 8.1 gaps package and have everything working perfectly.
