Hi there
As the title suggests I want to change the Default storage location when I'm adding a new contact.
By mistake I chose Phone and now want to change it to my email Id but couldn't find an option in settings.
Appreciate your time.
Hi.
Try "contacts optimizer" app. It allows you to do such a thing. With the free version you can only change one contact at a time. The paid version allows to do bulk changes.
Best.

Contacts ---> Settings ---> Manage contacts ---> Default storage location
Was looking for the setting in Phone app previously.
Opened app drawer and searched for App : Contacts and there was the option.
Thank you.

Is there anyway to create a nickname for your contacts and just not have their full name show up, say in favourites, another thing how do you change the default action when you click a favourite once already selected say "open contact card" or "send message"

I think the only way to change the default action is to remove the contact from the favorites group and then add it back again.
no nicknames possible with the included people app

Are you rooted? Do you ever use the Locations app for anything else?

Try the following:
In the app drawer
Go to "Car"
Go to settings.(Press the small buttons below the weather, clock etc)
Go to default navigation app and change it to what you want there.
I'm also having trouble with this. When ever I click on a contact address it opens up HTC Locations, and there are no defaults sets for Locations app to clear.

Thanks, that solved the problem. :good:
However there is tiny issue with it; when opening google maps with "Select other map" option, that dreadful 3 dot menu option appears on the bottom, and it stays there (even inside Google navigation if I load it from maps) till i switch out of the app and switch back in again. A minor inconvenience, but far better than always going to edit contact > Copy address > load Google maps > Paste and search for the address.
Good afternoon everyone,
I just ugraded my Samsung Wave I to Bada 2.0 and like I said in the topic title I would like to rename some email accounts I added. In fact I used the "Other account" setting to add it and now all my accounts are named "My new account". I looked in the settings but I did not find out where can I solve my problem.
If you've got any ideas I will be happy to read it.
Thanks everyone.
I'm sorry of it's a noob's question but I really didn't find the answer.

I already try that but it changes nothing, unfortunately.
Nobody knows ?
It is very simple.
Just do this :
Settings => Email => Email account => tap on "your email account" => tap on the setting button in the top left hand corner => change the settings of the account
That's it
All this is true what is written here, but you can only change the settings of the email account, not the name (account)!

Hi everyone,
Just updated my Galaxy note 2 with Omega rom and now I am unable to dial directly from either the logs or favorite screens. It just opens the contact record for details at which i i find that green phone icon to dial. Before this update i used to dial directly from the log and favorite screens, now I have to do one more step .... Any idea how to fix this ?
thanks in advance
You can use shortcusts right?
Homepage > Shortcut > Call shortcut > Select contact
EDIT
Operations done with Nova Launcher

yes, I can use work-arounds ... but i am looking for this feature which has been removed for some reason.
thanks for your reply
I go to Contacts settings and set to display only Google Contacts. As I know this should have defaulted new contacts to be added into Google and you no longer need to choose which phonebook to store it from the dropdown menu, but it doesn't work on my GPro.
Any1 knows how to solve this? Thanks in advance

While adding a new contact u would get an option to link that contact to ur google account(save to cloud which can be synced by using ur gmail id) or save it on phone memory only or on sim.. Is this what u are asking? Try saving a new account and watch out for these options.

I'm aware of the options, and it is the option dropdown menu that I want to default to Google. It's annoying having to change it to google everytime I want to add a new contact.
As a matter of fact, I can live without using the phone memory at all!

Looks like this phone really locks down the contact book. You can't even edit your own profile info once you set it. At the top of the contact list there's an entry called "ME." I went to edit it and put my home landline phone as my home phone, then added my cell as a mobile. The home number is greyed out and you can neither edit nor delete it. What kind of nonsense is this?
I'm also looking for a solution.
Clearing data/cache from Contacts and Contact Storage from either Apps settings or TitaniumBackup do not work.
Really frustrating. I'm having a hard time moving my contacts from other phones which can't sync with Google.

Try to use rainbow contacts (get it from playstore) if your other phone had bluetooth on it..
Is there any solution for this Contact problem that Google can't be the default but always the Phone ?
I was hoping upgrading to kitkat would change this, but it didn't.
