I want to unlock bootloader of my redmi 5a but i am unable because my simcard slot is not working hence i can not add mi account in the unlock status so every time i get the error of account not bound i can only connect to internet using wifi because of damaged sim card slot is there any other way of unlocking bootloader without using mobile data because i want to root my android.

I just got a Redmi Note 8 and I want to unlock the bootloader. After following some guides, it looks like I need a phone number to do this. Now I already have a different phone that has a SIM card and don't want to switch to my Redmi as my main phone. The Redmi will remain at home and connected through WiFi. My questions are:
Is there a workaround to unlocking the bootloader without a phone number?
If not, can I just switch the SIM card from my other phone to the Redmi just to unlock the bootloader? (Then switch the SIM card back to my main phone?)

That's what I did.
I had to sign into mi account with the redmi and Sim inserted. The sign up required a verification text. Then had to sign in , in the unlock menu inside Dev options. Then sign in from the unlock program on PC, which needs internet access. Then that app wanted to send another verification text to phone . And enter the confirm code. (Pain in the As, because my phone was my only internet access. I needed to go to Publix wifi spot to do this).
After the PC program says wait for 168 hours, and try again. I. Then **** off redmi, put Sim back to my main phone.
By the way. Do remember what you use for your mi account. Because after you do unlock phone, and it needs to do factory reset. When it reboots, phone is stuck on start screen and needs you to sign into mi account to unlock, then do the setup.
In my redmi note 8, i forget my mi account lock code. so i given to local service centre. they returned because they cant unlock. after some days i got the mi unlock code from my pc password backup docs. i unlocked my phone with original unlock code.
Now the issue is that, i dont know what the service guys done to my phone. after unlocking i cant access to the mobile networks. the sim card is not detecting. Is there any solution to solve the issue?

My Redmi Note 7 Pro has a network problem, always shows no service. I have already tried fixing it in the Official Mi Care but failed. I want to use this mobile for the experiment so I need root. But without Mi Unlock Status I can't find any solution. Do you guys know about any unofficial or another way to root or unlock the bootloader without a network?

Your question is about unlocking the bootloader, no?

I'm stuck in a horrible situation here if someone might be able to help would be a great help.
So basically I want to Unlock my phones bootloader but it happens to be that the Phone network is broken, I mean there is some issue with the motherboard where even If you insert a Sim it shows No SIM as. So I've been using this device just for surfing Yt and stuff.
So when I try to unlock the bootloader by going into the Developer option > Unlock Status and it needs a SIM card inserted to add device and account.
Is there a work around to bypass this.
What I have tried so far using MI unlock tool but it throws error.

after long time searching and tryng out both official and non official methods for unlocking bootloader, or at least bypass it I find this method which was 100% perfectly worked and made me able to flash any other custom rom or recovery
